On a business trip from out of town and I received an engine malfunction message. I saw Advanced Auto Parts and decided to pull in for advice on how to proceed. Brandon was very helpful and kind! I’ve been using Advanced Auto Parts in Poughkeepsie for the past two years, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and patient, always willing to go the extra mile. In particular, Vinny has been incredibly helpful on multiple occasions. Most recently, he assisted me with a front license plate bracket, going above and beyond to ensure everything was right. Kudos to management for hiring and retaining such employees!

Website says Advanced Auto price matches. Walked in and asked to confirm and was immediately shut down even when I asked about the website mentioning price matching. Very rude guy in beanie was on his phone and didn’t care at all. Never will shop in advanced auto again.

Was trying to help a single mom out the day after Christmas with her battery on her car. She purchased the battery last march, and her car was dead. Took her battery out of her car brought it to advanced auto and they didn’t want to even help at all saying it’s too cold out the battery is frozen. I’m a ASE certified mechanic, yes the battery is cold but no that battery is not completely freezing at 30 degrees. Yes it’ll loose some capacity but not dead like it was. What a joke. Edit: your generic response sums up your lack of quality customer service. No you will def not be getting business from me

Service used to be better at this location. I brought in apart and wanted to try and match it up and they were too lazy to try.

Don’t buy battery from them. I bought a battery from them for my daughter’s car with warranty. The battery started loosing power after couple weeks. Every time I complained they ignored, said so many things! They failed to replace battery even with warranty. I will never buy again from them.

I frequent this store and have built good relationships with the associates over the past 18 years. They are helpful and usually have what I need on the shelves to keep my service truck, vans, and personal vehicles going.

Great service. Got a loaner kit for a brake caliper job I was doing, worked fantastic. Service was phenomenal, Joe and Rob really knew their stuff, and helped me figure out what I needed. Love this place.

A very nice man was checking out at the register and his autistic son was walking into the store when the manager accused his autistic son for knocking over his motorcycle. The manager says I got it on video the customer said show me proof that I will pay for it the manager did not proceed to show proof at that time but call the cops. He was yelling at this customer very abruptly not having 100% facts regardless what the turnout may come to be no manager yell at customers like that in a public location without talking with any kind of Reason in their voice. There are four different witnesses to this event and we all outside told the police our thoughts the customer was actually right, he did not do anything wrong to deserve to be treated like that in front of people. Kudos to the customer for keeping us cool because if he would have spoken to somebody else like that and manager would have got knocked out. Or even worse that man needs to be fired and never work in customer service again for what we had to witness. This is why people have insurance and they man did not say you wanted to pay for it if he's in the wrong just show him proof that he's in the wrong there could have been other ways to go about this and that was the wrong way Advance Auto do the right thing and get rid of that man she should be fired 20 minutes ago

Lynn the manager is a superstar.I had a problem with a new battery warranty and she took care of it in a very professional and timely manner.Her customer service skills are extraordinary and because of her I will be a lifetime customer of Advace auto parts.

The employees were extremely helpful and and I had to return a port and get a different part and there was no problem whatsoever got me the right part wasn't even their fault in the first place It was mine. But they are knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant and positive and help me ease my stress and gave me the confidence to work on my vehicle without having to bring it to him again. You know that I don't like to mention names but Vinny at the store in Poughkeepsie It was really helpful.

Bought a battery online. Picked it up at 7:00pm. The employees said they wouldn't install my battery because it was getting dark. I didn't see a time frame on their website stating this. I ended up installing it myself

I gotta say I used to have a different experience at that store, But Lately everyone there has been very kind and helpful. I need to acknowledge Mike behind the counter because he Has excellent customer service skills, goes above and beyond and it is a pleasure to go there now. Thank you Mike.

Bought a car battery because it says they install it but when I picked it up, I got hassled about installing it. They ultimately said they wouldn't despite online saying they install for the make and model I purchased a battery for. I returned it and will not be purchasing from here again.

Merchandise organized attractively, and wide selection. Courteous staff at counter. Parking ample in lot out front.

I stopped in today and four consecutive times I have had great service and selection. Today the employee Vinny went way above and beyond going outside to help me to find the right parts to get my license plate holder fixed. Without his help I wouldn’t have been able to get my license plate done today and I am eternally grateful to him for this. This was outstanding service and kindness. I truly appreciate what he did. Thank you Vinny!

Today I was helped by the most honest and kind employee I have ever encountered in Poughkeepsie. He revealed to me that he was helping at the location today and typically works at the Peekskill location. Dave (I may have the name wrong and I apologize) went above and beyond to assist me today and I want him to be recognized for this! What a pleasure!

They give you an attitude when you need to recycle used motor oil you bought from them. They lie and say it is illegal to recycle oil that is not in original containers. Other auto parts stores takes used oil, no problems without the Bad Attitude. Will not be shopping Advance anymore.

Advance Auto Parts is also a designated satellite Amazon package delivery business. I retrieved package from this location. The employees were polite and they even offered to help me load the huge package into my car. Wonderful and kind employees, excellent service, clean store, and plenty of parking are reasons I'll definitely shop here.

Customer Service is alive and thriving at Advance on Main Street in Poughkeepsie, NY. I had a problem with a battery that I purchased several months ago. Joe tested the battery and immediately offered to charge it. It is a heavy duty battery so it takes (4) hours to charge. I appreciated the offer and returned (4) hours later. Guy tested the battery and it was determined that the battery was no good. He wasted no time in addressing the warranty, finding a replacement and working out the details. Guy, Amy and Joe were all helpful, professional, and friendly. They made a potentially bad situation easy to solve. Thank you all.

Mike at the Main Street store was very helpful. Asked if he could install the wiper blades if I purchased them and without hesitation he installed them for me! Was very pleasant and nice.

Prices are way over priced. You can go anywhere else a get better prices. There's always a line. If you are grabbing something quick, you still have to wait. Then they tell you to go to the first register. Support your local guy.

The staff is very handy and pleasant. I had a great experience with an employee named Ed who was beyond helpful and really went out of his way to provide the best possible customer service.
