Ariel made it really easy to do business. The process to rent a unit is very quick and simple, whether it's online or in person. Storage location is great! I used to rent at Storage Blue in Union City the access to my unit was horrible! Definitely did not run into that here. Access to units are quick and easy!! Completely hassle free on all levels! Highly recommend to Everyone!
Extra Space Storage in Secaucus is honestly one of the best storage facilities I’ve used. The place is super clean, easy to access, and feels very secure. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole rental process quick and simple. They were patient with my questions and helped me find the perfect unit for what I needed. Definitely recommend this location if you’re looking for reliable storage and great customer service!
Absolutely disgusting, unsafe, and heartless.
My unit at Extra Space Storage in Secaucus was covered in mouse droppings, and I got physically sick trying to clean it out. All my items are damaged and ruined by rats. When I told management, instead of helping, they sent an email basically telling me: we don’t clean, we don’t refund, file an insurance claim, throw your things in our dumpster if you want, and by the way…..pay up by tomorrow or we’ll add late fees.
They brag about having pest control “once a month”……clearly worthless when tenants are getting sick and everything is destroyed. The response was completely insensitive and dismissive, as if people’s belongings mean nothing.
This place is filthy, unsafe, and run by people who genuinely don’t care about customer health, ruined property, or basic responsibility. If you value your belongings — or your health — do NOT store anything here.
Secaucus just secured a storage unit at the Secaucus location, and while I dont have much of a review at this time, I will be adjusting my review once my rental begins.
The buildings at this location are very old, and not climate controlled, but its closer to home and a convenience.
The manager was really friendly and very professional. I felt good going into this rental.
As for the unit I will be renting, it is an older building. There's no interior lighting, but it wasn't a big issue. The only problem i had was that the empty unit smelled like urine pretty bad. It smelled like someone peed inside.
Before taking possession of the unit, I will be using a sprayer with bleach and fabuloso.

I recently had amazing customer service from Oyuky and Ariel. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to help me. I highly recommend their services for anyone looking for great support!
If I could give zero stars, I would! I moved into Extra Space Storage less than six months ago and they already doubled my rent! They lure you in with a “great deal,” only to jack up the rates once you're settled in and have no choice but to pay or go through the hassle of moving all your stuff.
This is nothing but a bait-and-switch scheme.
Customer service is useless. All they say is "market rates have changed," yet new customers are getting way lower prices than what they’re charging me now.
I strongly recommend finding a more honest storage company that won’t trap you with deceptive pricing tactics. I will be moving out ASAP and I suggest others do the same before they pull the same stunt on you!
WATCH OUT FROM THIS COMPANY. I've move here only a few months ago and I got a notice that they will be DOUBLING my rate. It seems to be very common scam run by Extra Space Storage in several of their locations. They assume that after spending all that time and money to move into their facility, that you won't leave if they double the rates or increase them by a ridiculous amount. I'm pretty sure what they are doing is illegal and I wouldn't be surprised if a class action lawsuit will be filed against them. For a non temperature controlled facility, the rates are increased by amounts that makes using their facility a total rip off.

This place is a scam. Total SCAM.
They raise your rates with NO warning, and they raise your rates after you have only been in your unit for 5 months too!
For example, a non-climate controlled 5x5 unit, contracted at $34/mo via the web special is really a $84 bill, when it used to be $47 for rent and insurance.
Don't expect an itemized bill either. Office staff was nice when I moved into the unit.
But doubling my bill nonprior warning, or before i could move out of a 5x5 should be criminal. Especially for a building that isn't climate controlled and located in a flood plane.
In fact - I am wondering what the state's AG office may say when they look at this contract if I were to formalize a complaint ?
The pricing is ridiculous. It’s a scam.
I was not sure how my rent had gone up so much within the span of a short amount of time. I had a small storage unit and it was raised every 4-6 months or so. Which was not explained when I first signed. When I first started renting I was paying $120 and ended paying $196. That’s a car payment. It’s not worth it.
Save your money and go elsewhere.
Ariel was professional and very helpful. She went out of her way to help me find the right space to fit my needs and budget. I would highly recommend to friends and family.

Unfortunately , i called to settle payment for my unit. Ariel the customer service representative was very rude and unpleasant.
I have been trying to negotiate since November, requested for a district manager to give us a call.
The month of December is about to be over and I am still unable to speak with someone regarding my account. Since Ariel can’t do anything regarding anyone’s account in the facility.
She will just caught you off and let you know , “ I can’t do anything for you”
When she can absolutely let the district manager or district leader know a customer who is going into the auction is trying to save the unit.
the staff members were incredibly kind and patient in assisting me and answering all of my questions. Ariel noticed that my lock was rusty and even went out of their way to return and apply lubricant to my lock, ensuring that I knew how to open it. In really hot day, around 80F, she made several trips outside—this level of patience is truly touching. Thank you!

Ariel was extremely patient even though I asked her to change my unit size 4-6 times during our conversation. I can be very indecisive and I’m happy she didn’t treat me differently! She kept a smile while answering every single question with as much information as possible. Thank you!!! This is what great service is supposed to feel like!!!
I have been a customer for over 10 years, and I needed more space and Jennifer was so accommodating as were all the other employees. The only problem I had was signing the contract on the Internet. It was convenient if it worked properly, thanks to the staff they walked me through it Contacted IT and resolved it. I would definitely recommend to anyone to use this facility.
UPDATED REVIEW: I rented a space at this business just 2 months ago. The staff was extra welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. They made the whole process of getting set up seamless. The storage areas are clean and in order. I feel safe and comfortable with my personal belongings here.
BUT…
I see now why the staff was so welcoming in the beginning. It was to lure me in with a special rate.
After just TWO (2) months, they have sent me a space rent increase — from $148/mo to now $232/mo!!! After just 2 months, an $84 increase???? Are they mentally insane?????
Absolutely not! This is a scam in every sense of the word and I have revised my review here to inform others of the scam this company is pulling.
I am already in the process of inquiring at another nearby facility that claims to have the lowest rates in the area. But even if that doesn’t work out I’ll still be removing my things and so instead of being satisfied with getting $148/mo from me, they can now expect to get $0.
The greed displayed here by Extra Space Storage is truly astounding, but not really surprising.. Stay away and find another facility!
