When we checked in the staff was really nice the next day staff and we checked out where really rude and unpleasant plus they put water bottle in your room and charge you $5 crazy which we had no idea shower water like luke warm heat was high but cold air blows under there windows so cold in room , bathroom outlet burned when plug in dryer you get shocked curtains are very dirty with brown spots would not recommend or come back to this place
Amazing location, tons of food right nearby and a bus across the street that will take you in to NYC. The rooms are clean and modern, but the bed I slept in felt pretty worn out. No breakfast included but lots of options outside of the hotel to choose from.
Staff was helpful and friendly enough. Overall it's a good hotel with good access to the city, albeit not right in NYC so if you're not taking the bus, the taxi/Uber ride won't be cheap.
Had a great stay here during the holidays. The hotel is pretty standard Courtyard - clean and convenient. I would say it’s mid-range for the Courtyard brand, as I’ve stayed at some older more dated ones and I’ve stayed at newer properties which are more elevated than you’d expect so this one was in the middle, closer to basic. ||The rooms here were clean and looked to be renovated within the last 5 +/- years. I stayed in the 1 bedroom king suite and it very roomy. Both rooms were spacious with lots of room for lounging and luggage and the bathroom was set to the side of the entryway where you felt you had privacy from others in the suite. The pullout couch was single so I would say altogether the room would sleep 3 adults comfortably. The bedroom and living room area both had large tvs.||The main draw of the hotel is the location. It’s central to so many things that may bring you to the area including a business complex with lots of restaurants across the street, Walmart across the opposite street, a retail park 3 minutes drive away and the American Dream mall and MetLife Stadium about a 10 minute drive. It also has great links to New York City with a bus stop directly across the street with express service to the city in 15 minutes without traffic (I timed it and it was exactly 15 minutes). Newark Airport is approx. 25 minutes away. The area felt very comfortable and convenient. ||Amenities were okay. The restaurant service was limited to breakfast during my stay and I never ate there. There was a small lounge area with a large tv. There was also a coin operated laundry and gym onsite. There weren’t any hotel shuttles but there was a sign for a shuttle service that I guess the hotel recommends. There was very convenient parking at the back of the property. The staff was very nice and gave a great welcome package with maps of the area and the express NYC bus schedule. ||The only real negative was the HVAC system between the two rooms in the suites was temperamental - they were meant to be synched but the temperatures weren’t. The room faced the parking lot which had construction going on but the work only disturbed me once, which is out of the hotel’s control since it’s a city parking lot, not the hotel’s. ||I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.
Great location. Service was very good. Nice hotel in Secaucus NJ. 15th minutes bus ride to NYC. Best of all, clean bathroom, free parking, offers free bottles of water. The staff who check us in was very very nice( a male staff) we appreciate his kindness for letting us check in early after a very long drive. Will recommend this hotel. Thank you. We don’t have any problems on our stay in this hotel.
Luke warm (at best) showers. It’s not a hot water issue either as the water in the sink got plenty hot. If you’re one of those cold plunge nut jobs this might be the hotel for you.
Nice hotel near a fairly large shopping and dining area. They don't have a free breakfast or any ability to provide one (Starbucks on premises). They also don't have an ability to do any upgrades for Platinum Elites (my status). Given all that I would stay here again simply due to the number of options to eat and shop nearby.
Noisy!! Room with a shared door was awful. No insulation. I could hear the normal conversations of the neighbors in the room next door. Very annoying. Tried to change rooms but was told hotel was full.
Very nice, week long, stay. Refurbished rooms, clean and very comfortable beds.
Haven't tried breakfast - as there are plenty of options around.
Although there is busy road nearby - this does not disrupt the sleep (although I would be rather careful selecting hotels which are just next to interstate, this hotel isn't).
There's public bus going into NYC port authority terminal (central of Manhattan) and its stop is just next to the hotel. Very convenient option for sightseeing NYC (and way less expensive).

Excellent hotel! My husband and I were looking for a reasonable priced night near NYC and this was perfect. Rooms were spacious, clean, and up to date. Free parking and easy access to the 320 bus into manhattan. Service was very good and had some good restaurants around the corner. Will definitely be back for our next trip to NJ/NY!

Currently staying here, I don’t recommend whatsoever. Everything is broken. Closet broke within minutes, toilet doesn’t work and had to keep requesting maintenance and they didn’t fix it.. told me they’ll give us another room. That was at 8, they said we need to be out by 11, I called at 9 to let them know we’ll leave at 10 she said no rooms available. HOW IS THIS MY PROBLEM?? Horrible service!!! Don’t stay here!!
Update: Managers are rude, staff are liars!!! I asked for a manger three days in a row said there was none! Priceline calls they say there’s none!! I call right after and get juleen who had an attitude problem, talking to me ask if I lied, pay attention to your tone and notes!! Dirty hotel from environment to treatment!
We have stayed here several times for meetings. The hotel is in an excellent location. Parking is included. There are several amazing restaurants in walking distance. The overall hotel is nice but could use a face-lift. The rooms are nice but some renovations are needed. The drapes were stained in my room. The bathrooms area showing some dating ( chipped tubs), floor was worn, and the staff needs to step up to the Marriott brand. When we checked in they were less than energetic and gave the impression we inconvenienced them. They wanted to grill us about our corporate code as if we were lying. I use it everytime we stay here or at any Marriott. The hotel restaurant was very good and very polite and reasonably priced. Overall nice but could use a little more attention to details.
We stayed here for a football game in October. The location was very good. There are a lot of restaurants and a Starbucks within walking distance. Free parking is included in a garage out back. It was very convenient and a very safe area. Breakfast was reasonably priced. The room was very clean. It's about a 15 minute Uber (10-12$) to the Secaucus junction train terminal if you want to go into the city.
Nice hotel, clean room and comfortable bed, good service Location is good, a lot of dining and shopping options within reach. It’s also convenient if you want to go to New York using NJ transit bus I have stayed in this area before in a different hotel and if given the choice I will stay at Courtyard in future. The only thing I didn’t like was the water pressure in the shower was low. Apart from that everything else was great
The Front Desk Staff was amazing! And I Had a somewhat enjoyable stay until I noticed the Drinking Glasses in the BATHROOM! One was totally digesting! Fine example why I never utilize the Glass Cups in any Hotel ? ? ?

Do not stay here unless you really have to. The AC barely blows air so its very hot especially at night, you can here the elevator even if you are on the other side of the hall, holes in the curtains, view of the parking garage, locks don’t work including the peephole cover broken so I had to tape it in place for my safety, very narrow shower and I could barely sleep with all the noise from outside. This is the worst marriott I’ve stayed at unfortunately. It’s the bare minimum and the experience is not Marriott-like at all. I was on the third floor.
Had a great time here, the hotel is 15 mins away from Times Square by car, and also has free parking. The staff was nice, and the breakfast was okay. I searched for accommodation last minute before our trip to NY, and I feel like Marriott is a good choice overall.
If you love the following you should choose this hotel;
- Waking up to a jackhammer, beeping of trucks backing up to unload, or simply unable to sleep due to the elevator being heard in your room 24/7
- A hotel employee suggesting a third party shuttle to a concert at MetLife. Only to find out it’s double the price of parking and the company isn’t affiliated with the hotel at all.
-A VERY outdated room and furniture
-A room with a view of the parking deck
-Cigarette smell in your room due to employees smoking outside your window below you
-ZERO amenities (bar of soap, and liquids in shower only)
-Did I mention you can hear the elevator 24/7?
-ZERO room cleaning (even though it her been requested at check in)
-A bed that feels like sleeping on 2x4s
-A very convenient location for MetLife
Staff was great! Location was great! Rooms were clean and updated! Lots of restaurants around. Felt safe walking around. About 20 mins from NYC. Shuttle to and from event was pricey but worth not driving yourself. Close to metlife stadium and American dream mall. Would highly recommend.
The room was good for a one night stay after a concert at met life. We woke up very congested and the room smelled awful, we realized it must have been coming from outside because when we left the smell almost made us puke. The hotel does the job but i wouldn’t stay here for longer than a night.
The property has an excellent location, close to the ammonites. Free parking was a definite plus. However, the overall experience didn’t match the high cost. The property felt dated, with old furniture and no breakfast option provided, which made the price hard to justify. If location is your top priority and cost isn’t a concern, it might work for you. Otherwise, the value for money just isn’t there.
Close proximity to MetLife/Meadowlands complex. Great food options nearby, the Carnegie Diner & Cafe is delicious with good drinks and fun vibes. Rooms are clean and updated. Free parking is a great perk, but the lot is under construction and may require a short walk to the hotel.
As a current guest at this hotel, I’m extremely disappointed with the experience. The environment is far from peaceful or relaxing. The lobby has turned into a chaotic scene—there are groups of people doing shots of alcohol and acting aggressively, with no apparent oversight from staff. On top of that, over 20 unsupervised children are running wild throughout the area, contributing to the disorder.
This lack of control raises serious questions about the hotel's standards and safety. I strongly recommend that corporate review the lobby video footage and consider whether this reflects the brand image they aim to uphold. At the moment, it certainly does not. I’m genuinely dreading the remainder of my stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay here. Only issue for me is the parking. Hotel should have its own lot rather than a shared parking space, but there were plenty of spots so no complaints. I now know where to stay the next time I plan to see a concert at met life!
Last night we stayed at the courtyard Marriott in Secaucus, New Jersey. I am very used to staying at Marriott so I’m very comfortable with the conditions and the feel and the layout the hotels. However, when going up to our room, we had a lot of trouble getting into the room the door would not unlock, and the door knob would not turn. We spent about 12 minutes, trying to get into the room before it finally opened and before I Thought about going down To the front desk. Also, the other thing that was very offputting was that the bathroom tub was chipping and not sealed because of that it didn’t feel clean to me. For the price I pay for the room I would’ve expected a little bit more high-quality and that’s not all what I got from this.
2 stars due to options of food in area. When checking in the woman was short with us, kind of blew us off when we spoke. No interaction. Room was ok, wall paper pealing off walls, shower light was dim then bright then dim for the most part. Don't try to flush the toilet, it doesn't work right either. Shower, omg. Who thought it's a good idea to put the shampoo dispenser at the shower front when it's a narrow shower. This is awful, I hit my should and arm more then 15 times easily. Out it at the rear of the shower. You think stand further away from the shower head right, you could if there was any pressure to the shower head. Best part either I was tired or it was a great bed.
I cannot say enough of how lovely my stay was at this property! To be perfectly honest we originally wanted to stay at this hotel, but it was completely sold out so we chose a hotel near by because of its location. Well, when we checked in to the other hotel I was completely disgusted!!! Lets just keep things professional and I will not elaborate about what I found in my room.
So I took another chance and called the Courtyard by Marriott again hoping they had a cancelation AND THANK GOD THEY DID!!!! MAUREEN at the front desk was so accommodating considering that it was 12am and I had nowhere to stay with my young children. Our room was so CLEAN and cozy! We wanted to stay another night but the hotel was completely sold out. We were so appreciative that we got that night we just went to bed and had a good night's rest. I woke up very early with the hopes I would catch MAUREEN again in the morning to see if there were any cancelations for the king suite we had and I was so sad to say but there was not, but I did see MAUREEN. MAUREEN and I just started talking at 6am ,mind you, about many things while she was trying to find us a room for another night. What a wonderful woman!!! Such a lovely person to have met and such an amazing employee to the Courtyard Marriott. She was so kind, caring, and helpful. Marriott is very lucky to have her!!!! I would definitely stay here again for many reasons but MAUREEN is definitely top on the list!!! Such a sweet sweet sweet person and excellent worker!!!! I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE MET HER!!!
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was exceptionally clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood felt very safe, which made it a perfect choice for families. Plus, the convenience of having a bus stop right next to the hotel that takes you into New York City in just 20 minutes was a huge bonus. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!
