Novellas Scrap Yard JunkYard in Danbury (CT)

First time using Novellas and the staff was great. Tremendously helpful as a first time user with only a small amount of material to recycle. I would highly recommend to anyone who has scrap junk metal lying around at home. Fast and friendly service.

Novellas has become my new go-to spot. Staff is very friendly, unloading is quick and easy, what more could you want. I'll definitely be returning soon, and many times in the future. There's not too many places like this left, don't hesitate to stop by

Such a great experience from my phone call to confirm they’d accept some old rims of mine to actually dropping them off- dealt with several different workers when there, each so superbly kind and respectful, I barely had to get out of the car which helped bc I had my kids in the back!! Can’t wait to find some old scrap to throw out just to go back- this place is the real deal!!

When I called to ask about prices and policies, the staff was impatient. He said it has to be at least certain weight/amount otherwise they don't pay anything. He rushed and hanged up the phone quickly when I was trying to take some notes. Their website was poorly designed with no clear price/payment information.

It was brought to my attention purchase prices vary greatly among different buyers and I should call around. After checking, Novellas prices were competitive. Normally I wouldn't go out of my way and just go to the closet scrapper but that thought may be different next time. Not only is the owner friendly and fair but the staff is even better, they helped unload and separate the materials making it an even easier process. Novellas, is owned and operated by a retired Marine. It's great to have an opportunity and it is a privilege to give a vet owned operation the business as well! Randy Gruener Avon CT

A surprisingly pleasant experience selling some used copper pipe. Service was quick, the sale price exactly what I expected, and the personal both in the yard and office pleasantly talkative. I'll go back anytime.

This place is the BIGGEST RIP OFF. They pay actual dollars less a pound(not cents) for wire then other local yards. If THHN wire is $2.20 at Lajoies there paying $1.15 Un real take your scrap else where you’ll get way more. This is from experience.

My experience with Novella's started with a phone call returned courteously in 5 minutes, a visit to their clean Danbury location to unload my items conveniently in 5 minutes, and ended with a conversation with Anton, Novella's owner, whose pride and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is apparent in the company's operation and the professional and friendly attitude of his employees. I will happily return to Novella's again and recommend it highly to anyone looking for a recycling facility.

Ignore that first post, this yard is under new management and these guys couldn't be nicer to deal with. I only had a small amount of scrap to dispose of and figured it wouldn't be worth much of anyone's time but they treated me like an old friend and gave extremely fair prices for my scrap metal. Having been to this location on two different occasions I can say this is the most professional & respectful recycling location I have encountered. The people behind the counter always have a smile and a very fair price for the scrap. I will be back again.
