first of all, make an appointment! Anyway after I found some old jewelry that I haven't worn in decades and I found out the current gold prices aren't bad, I decided to find a place to sell them. First I drove way too far to a branch of a small chain of buy gold stores. They lowballed me with a 64% of spot price, then they kept on haggling with me with the "let me call the manager" tactics. at the end, even after they have finally offered me a not too bad price, I still left because i didn't care that trying to squeeze as much money out of the customers business model. Then I did some more research and found LAcashforgold. they are the only one with an upfront buy price on their site. I was very surprised no one else has that kind of transparency with buying/selling commodities! gold is gold is gold. Like gas stations dont ask you "so how much do you want to pay for a gallon of gas? Anyway Nick was very professional and friendly. I've been holding some gold until the price went up like it is now. I drove from LAX to Pasadena to deal with Nick at LA Cash For Gold because he has the spot price of gold on his website, the transaction is completely transparent. He tests the gold rite in front of you, weighs it, explains the entire process, Who else does that? Nobody! I went with my Mother In law to sell a necklace to " her" local person and the experience was totally different. They went in the back room to weigh it and came out with a price, then gave her a check that the bank held for 10 days because it was from some out of state corporation . What a joke. I had 2 one ounce Panda Gold Coins; everywhere I called gave me the run around. On one phone called I was on hold for over 30 minutes for a supervisor. Then when I spoke to the person they said they need to see my coins in person to give me a price? What a joke. I then found LA Cash for Gold and called and spoke to Nick.
