Very honest and fast. I moved from out of state and was very stressed about finding a honest mechanic. I was surprised at how transparent they were with pricing and how reasonable services are (plus not trying to upsell me). They are very friendly and welcoming. I will be coming back and feel like my car is in great hands with their service. 10/10! Thank you!!

Truly an honest mechanic. I don't know much about cars, but my car stopped running. I took it to Autozone for their free diagnosis, and they said my transmission needed to be replaced. I searched online reviews for an honest mechanic and Hrant came up, so I called and made an appointment to get my transmission replaced. When I came in I requested my transmission replaced, and I took a seat to wait for it to be done, fully expecting to pay hundreds that day. After a bit Hrant came to me and said he did his own diagnosis and he didn't feel comfortable replacing my transmission since it looks fine to him and he thinks it will be a waste of money. He said it looked like my battery was installed too loosely and that caused the problems. He tightened the battery, sent me on my way, and said come back if the transmission problem comes up again. Never had another transmission problem with the car. I didn't end up paying him anything for his service (even though I was totally ready to spend hundreds that day), he just sent me on my way and said to come back if there's a problem. Can trust him.

Generally like the service here, but disappointed to learn that when I purchased a battery here, my original battery clamps weren’t put back on, but instead they put these made from thin metal clamps on that doesn’t connect well with the battery.

I started coming here May 2024 and I have never been disappointed. As a woman, getting your car serviced can be a bit daunting but this place has made any care service a seamless and stress-free experience. Most importantly they are honest and fair. They are always transparent on services offered and pricing. There has been many times that I’ve told them: According to the manual, this is the service I should need, they say okay, it’ll run you about XXX”. I bring my car in and they do their thing and they say, “this wasn’t needed, just let us know next time, we’ll take care of it.” THAT is why I keep coming back. I cannot recommend them enough.

I've come to Hrant ever since I moved to Pasadena. It was a random Google search when I was driving with a dead battery, and I've never regretted it. Hrant and his staff are professional and kind. I never feel like I'm being forced into an unnecessary repair, and they always tell me the urgency to fix an issue. The prices are also reasonable.

They took me right in with no appointment I was unsure if my back or front breaks were going bad or both they didn’t try to over charge me they let me know it was my rear breaks and gave me a fair price . First time here and the service and pricing did NOT disappoint. The team was fast, very professional, and friendly — I felt welcome, and Hrant welcomed me and took good care answering questions, etc. My Honda dealership wanted $530 to replace my rear brakes — Hrant did that AND did a synthetic oil change for $317! Incredible work for such a HUGE savings in price. I’ll definitely be back, and urge anyone and everyone considering to come here as well. They’ve earned my business, along with my fiancée’s.

I've just moved to LA and the last month has been a non-stop nightmare wherever cars are concerned (getting my US license, trying to buy CA car insurance without a 14-day waiting period, smacking the door handle the first few times I tried to change gear in a LHD car, traffic). I was resigned to having a bad time with the mechanic too, but to my relief, it was an absolute breeze taking my new-to-me car in for its first service at Hrant's. Called on a Friday afternoon and Hrant was able to book me in for Monday morning. He gave me a quote in person when I handed over my keys, looked over the car, and called me within half an hour to run me through an itemised list with a cost breakdown. He shared his recommendations for what he felt was highest priority, and what could wait. With 180k miles and no service records, I'd factored a chunky maintenance bill into my purchasing budget, but the quote was very fair (even after I converted it to AUD!) and the turnaround time was spot-on. I don't know what magic they do there, but they are very efficient despite how busy they are! I received a handwritten invoice at payment that reflected the quote he gave me over the phone, along with some notes on what we could address next time. I appreciated not feeling pressured into doing everything at once — I feel like Hrant invests in longterm relationships with his clients, and it's nice knowing he's on your team to keep you safe and your car running for hundreds of thousands of kilometres. Going to the mechanic can often be a very gendered experience, and I sometimes feel condescended or defensive because I hate being treated like I don't know anything about cars. But Hrant is a really chill guy! The other staff member I spoke to at the shop was also super friendly and helpful. Also very reassuring to find out Hrant has the same car! I figure he's a busy guy, so the last car he'd want is one that requires a lot of work...

First of all Hrant is a great guy and a superb business man. He and his team did a great brake job for me and had my truck in and out of the door in less time than estimated. Not only are they quick, but are fair with their estimated costs all the way to the invoice at the end. I needed help with other items on my truck and he even recommended me to other reputable shops that could take care of those items that he does not specialize in. He does business the way I would expect a professional mechanic shop to operate. I cannot say enough great things about Hrant and his team. I would recommend 10 times out of 10.

After receiving a completely ridiculous quote from another auto shop, we found Hrant through a Reddit recommendation. We took our car in today and had a wonderful experience. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful. They had our front and back brakes repaired within 2 hours, at $1,000 less than we were previously quoted. I’ve been to Hrant a few times over the years, and it’s always efficient, professional, and VERY affordable. The people working there are honest and will never try to cheat you into getting work done for extra cash - they will be frank and tell you if something is not urgent and could be done later. For the first time in my life, I don’t dread going to get my car serviced. I recommend Hrant to everyone in the area and will never go anywhere else!

The service I get here is nothing short of fantastic. As a female driver, I've been taken advantage of by SO many mechanics and Hrant Auto is not only honest about what my car needs but they don't try and upsell / overcharge you. I missed my appointment time because of an emergency situation and they still made time for me to come by even though their schedule was slammed that day. There was also a slight miscommunication between us regarding service (I know nothing about cars, obviously) and they were so open to fixing it. They were extremely fair in terms of pricing and time to complete the job as well. It's rare that I trust a mechanic and these guys are so great with my car and truly very kind to the customers. I feel so much safer driving my child around with Hrant Auto looking after my car.

Highly recommended! My 2016 Honda Fit started making weird noises when braking. I took it in and the Hrant team immediately diagnosed the issue and fixed it in an hour. Everyone was so courteous and helpful. Pricing is fair and transparent.

I lived in Pasadena for seven years and he was my mechanic the entire time. I recommend Hrant to everyone. - He communicates incredibly well, explaining issues, concerns, and recommendations so that you understand and invites all of your questions - He'll recommend a course of action but let you make the decision about your car without pushing you or being overbearing - He has an extraordinary ability to see your car quickly. I've had so many one or two day turnarounds with him. I don't know how he does it. - I don't really know mechanic pricing but I always felt like his prices were fair. - I never even had a bad moment with him. He's a kind soul who's great at fixing cars. He always remembered me, my wife, and my car even when I would go a year or two without seeing him.

I usually don't leave reviews but I was very satisfied with the service I received from Hrant and his team. I got my front brakes changed, brake and power steering fluid changed, and they were all super nice and professional. Additionally, the price for what I received was super fair and I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a mechanic. I would also call ahead because they do get busy.

Hrant continues to provide hands down the best automotive service you will find. Their attention to detail and customer service is unrivaled. Always with an explanation provided with a smile, you'll never get that feeling that you're getting the short end of the stick here as is the case with a lot of other places unfortunately. Myself and my family will continue to come here as long as we own cars!

I have been going to Hrant's for service 6 years now. Always great, honest work for more than fair prices. My car has not had a single issue through these years thanks to Hrant's care. I have sent multiple friends here and they all have been very grateful :) I cannot recommend him highly enough.

One of my headlights was out. I found Hrant on Yelp and decided to give him a try because of all the great reviews. He didn't disappoint. $25, and I was out the door in 5 minutes. Amazingly quick and courteous service! I'll definitely be back when I need my car worked on again.
