Went to Rhodes location was charged nearly $300 to diagnose my Blazer- WASTED MONEY- for them to say the Top Hat air intake needs replaced- DIDN’T fix the multiple misfires! Manager contacted me, asked me to bring it to Salem location to fix the situation & stated that his shop “foreman”Mechanic would work on it! I left there with it running rougher than ever! Found out he let a trainee work on it! I barely made it home! Was told I had a cracked intake manifold at one shop and the other shop, I had a copy of the work order & said it was smoke tested with no leaks! Which is it? The crack would have shown in that smoke test at the 1st location-so there was lies! I decided to be done with Blue Ridge all locations & took it for a second opinion, somewhere else, found out that I do not have a cracked intake manifold! I had a bad connection on one of my spark plug wires! RIPPED ME OFF NEARLY $300 with guesses! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Good customer service. They actually answer the phone, use a friendly tone, and state their name and the name of the business. You receive a scheduled time and they stick to it. Richard is especially friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to correct some shoddy work done on my vehicle by another service provider. Prices I’ve been quoted have been fair. I intend to return for any future service needs.

We moved here from Florida 4 years ago. We needed an honest place to take our 2 vehicles. This place is extremely honest. We have annual inspections and oil changes done here regularly. We’ve bought new tires and had many repairs done. Their best qualities are their integrity, honesty, knowledge, and prices. They are experts. Robert is the best technician we have ever had in our lives. Robert is a trustworthy and honest technician. He is a diamond in the rough. We go there because of the quality of his work. Richard is also kind, honest and extremely patient and knowledgeable.

I used to like Blue Ridge Truck and auto but the last two repairs that I have done there will be the last repairs I ever do. They had my truck for almost 4 weeks. They never called me one time to give me an update. I had to call them every time we spoke. I Was told parts are on the way it’ll be done soon. Turns out the parts were back ordered, and I don’t think they do that until I started pressing. I did a safety inspection on my suburban and passed it with a crack shield and brakes that started grinding one week after the passed inspection. This mechanic shop is turned into a revolving door with no employees that care about customer retention Edited 10/3/25 - the truck is dumping oil now. This place just isn’t the same quality I t used to be.

Took my baby there on Saturday is a Nissan Sentra. Spoke with Amanda who was very sweet and nice walked me through the whole process since my car need it a new alternator. The whole process went excellent and they were also calling with updates. I want to Thank Hunter and those who worked on my car. I was very nervous at first but they reassured me everything was going to go well and it did. Thank you!

Great place to take car for service needs. I was able to setup an appointment and took less than an hour to get car fully inspected. Definitely recommended.

Blue Ridge are where I've been taking my vehicles for years & I will definitely continue to do so for years to come. They've proven themselves honest & trustworthy. All of my vehicles are in the best of hands with them.

I don't get it. The Carter's and our extended family have been taking our vehicles to Blue Ridge Truck and Auto for years with no troubles (roughly 80 cars all together between the families). We really thought they deserved the trust we gave them. We never questioned their recommendations and when they made a mistake (which was rare) they always made good on it. Until today. After a poorly diagnosed under carriage and an exploded tire. They refused to own ANY of the error (likely because this was a state inspection and the law likes to, and now likely GOING TO get involved). The office manager at the Salem store, gave us an experience that will now have us not only not bringing our family's vehicles there; but we will be extending that dissatisfaction to the balance of our extended family. The saga; old 2006 Jeep Liberty. My Mom's driver. Came in for an inspection and oil change. Inspection rightfully failed. Tires were a mess which we were aware of; they also failed the exhaust for a rust break between the muffler and pipe, and for a rust hole in floor pan. They also claimed that one of the tires, the left Driver side tire was too unsafe to drive on as it had wires showing. They offered to put the spare on; which we agreed to because Blue Ridge would NOT do the exhaust or floor pan work and we had to take it elsewhere for that. So far so good, they recommended a place to look at and do an estimate for us. That place simply stated that Jeeps do suck for rust (they are rust magnets) BUT that this vehicle had been worked on, the work was good and that he had seen so much worse than anything like this he didn't understand why exactly it was failed. He noted there was NO break between the exhaust pipe and the muffler and there wasn't a hole in the floor pan, but a rust drip, likely from water coming from elsewhere. He made recommendations on how make the issue right and what steps to take to prevent it from happening again. Great. MUCH LESS of an issue than we had feared. Happens no biggie. On my way home from this visit, the spare BRT&A put on exploded. This jeep has a full-size spare mounted on the back. When I pulled off the road and looked at the difference between the tire that just blew and tire on the spare mount (the one they 'took off') I couldn't believe they took this tire off and put this OBVIOUSLY dry rotted pile of THANK GOD MY MOM WASN'T DRIVING garbage onto this!? I assumed that the tech may not have known how to inspect for dry rot. So I called BRT&A in Salem thinking I'd have a simple conversation about, hey, I think your tech might not have known to inspect for this; but instead I got a Manager who was utterly disinterested in talking with me or owning the issue. I mentioned I didn't want Justice, that I didn't want this mistake again (we have A LOT of family including my adult children taking their stuff their). As a bonus, their reason for taking the other off (we can see wires showing) also turned out to be false upon second inspection. In exchange for the now 8 hours of wasted time; a blown tire and a rejected inspection, I ask for a free spare tire in exchange for us paying for the other 4 to have them replaced there and we'd take the vehicle elsewhere for the other repairs. Manager said no, she wouldn't help us. I hope the 150 dollars BRT&A saved today will be worth the difference in how our family approaches your family's business. We are interrogating our rights on this now. Bummer.

I went in for a check engine light. They told me I needed fix something else ( couldn't find out why the light was on).I get it back and the car wants to turn right by itself. Then they had me pay them again to fix that. Which made the ball bearing on car sounded awful. So I took it to another shop. Who fixed a control arm. I'm never going back to blue ridge, I won't let them inflate my bike tires

While traveling south on Route 81 (late on a Saturday), our car lost a fan belt. We were lucky enough to be directed to the Salem facility. Can't say enough of the fantastic folks there including Crystal and the mechanic that helped us. Great service, they went out of there way to get us back on the road. We are thankful beyond words!

My wife and I brought our car here for a state inspection. They had to replace a tag light that was annoyingly hard to get to in the process, and they didn't charge us any extra for labor. It was refreshing to see a business with great company values. The waiting room is homey, there was no 'upselling', and, overall, we felt grateful for the great service and relieved that we now have a local shop that we trust.

Flexible with odd requests I have about my car needs. They never make me feel like I'm being too involved or asking too much. The manager is efficient with his guys time so don't be late for your appointment bc they will grab the next one and never stop working. They are number 1 of 2 shops I let touch my Audi R8. Tire guy is careful and doesn't cut corners or scratch your wheels... only negative is the candy bucket was empty this time.... work on that 😆

This has been my usual shop for repairs and maintenance for the last decade, and are the only place I trust to take care of my vehicles. Everyone still makes mistakes, and they haven't been perfect for the 10 years I've gone to them, but generally speaking they get me in and out in a reasonable length of time, and the quality of work they provide is generally very good. I've had a very difficult time finding a decent shop as many of the smaller guys cut corners or will upsell everything they can, and Blue Ridge doesn't. They always understand that people have budgets and are willing to accommodate by giving you multiple estimates for parts. No place is perfect by any means, but this place treats their customers right. Would recommend.

Nice place to get your car taken care of. Took awhile to get the job done but that is expected with car work. Their waiting room is comfortable with padded seats and good enough to chill in for a few hours. The staff was nice too.

3days, 3driffrent times and over $500 in cost, for check engine light. Had to wait for appointment on Aug. 29 at 10am, changed oil and filter, return next day couldn't get back in on Sept 11 and again did it again within 10 miles, return there left truck for 2days, went to pick up was told to put gas treatment in tank and drive 1500 miles, there was still a miss and the light may or may not come back on, was even told to lower my voice when office manager could answer my guesting about making it worse, after 3 trys and not repaired but have Procedures, Sorry didn't know you act like emergency room, treat, charge, and kick to curb. Car not fixed and values knock now, when not before light came on and not as bad either. Sorry just don't see it, was willing but did convince me they know what they doing except take your money and not correct the problem.

They were so sweet with my toddler while we waited. It would be five stars, but we waited an incredibly long time for 2 tire installations, and it cost more than I would usually pay elsewhere

I had a tire that suddenly started losing air. I had to fill it up twice to get to the shop. I went somewhere else first because they were open. This was a Monday morning at 730. However, the guy just said you can leave it and I'll try to get it in today. So I left and went to blue ridge at the recommendation of a friend. I'm so glad the other place couldn't fix it. Everyone at blue ridge was GREAT!! Nice and friendly. They took my car straight back, fixed my tire and I was back on the rode in a little over an hour!! Chance, the guy at the front desk, is a great multitasker. He was answering the phone, checking people in, ordering parts, you name it he was doing it! No matter how busy it was he was friendly and didn't seem flustered at all. I highly recommend blue ridge to anyone that needs any car repair.

I was passing thru town and realized I had a screw stuck in my tire. I dropped by this shop to ask if they had time to fix it. Despite being busy and understaffed they were able fit us in and get us back on the road within an hour, for a very reasonable price. Everyone was very friendly. Great service!

At the recommendation of a neighbor, I started going here. The only bad news is they stay busy - because they deserve to be! When one car had brake replacement recommended at another outfit during state inspection (did not fail) for allegedly being near replacement as well as another major repair, BRTA indicated the brakes were still at 50% and the major "issue" was non-existent. During a state inspection today, two tag lights needed replacement. They did so for less than I could have done via Advance Auto myself. They then spent time with me on tire pricing and 4 wheel drive advice. Working by appointment, the entire job was done in a timely fashion. The desk help was friendly and knowledgeable. This is my new go-to for auto service.

I will recommend anyone to Blue Ridge Truck and Auto! My son had an issue with his brakes and they diagnosed the issue and fixed it with a quick turnaround time and at a very fair price. They checked out a couple more things at my request, and they told me that those issues were not needing repair at this time. It was the exact opposite of what typically happens, it was very refreshing! In addition to their mechanics doing a thorough job, their customer service was outstanding. They were delightful to deal with and I will definitely be returning the next time we have car issues. Give this place a try!

Crystal and Hunter were both GREAT to work with. Very polite and very professional. One dealership told me I had a nail in my tire that would require a plug. A separate dealership told me the tire needs to be replaced. Within ten minutes at BRTA, it was determined it was only a tac, and it had not punctured through the tire at all. THIS IS CALLED INTEGRITY! No charge to look at the tire. My vehicle was subsequently inspected for its' annual safety inspection. Two separate dealerships would not inspect it same day. Will certainly use BRTA again! Thank you Crystal and Hunter for the great customer service, professionalism and honesty! SM

Will never use this shop again. Took my truck in at 7am and left the keys in the early drop box and had made an appointment days before to have the oil changed. Come back at 515pm to get my truck to find out that they never checked the drop box or serviced my truck. They just "forgot" to. Completely unprofessional and ridiculous. I have used Blue Ridge for a couple years know but this will make me take my business elsewhere. If you can't remember something as simple as checking the key drop box how am I supposed to trust my and my family's safety you to put every bolt back or tighten every lug. No thank you.

I went in today for my check engine light it was showing for cylinder misfire and injector circuit. I got a call saying that the test doesnt show a misfire and that it was a connector tab that was broken. The quoted me at 90$ I was fine with that. But when I got my car I drove it for 45 min and my check engine light came back on. And started doing the exact same thing it was doing when I dropped it off. So I paid almost 100 dollars and didn't get my car fixed.

VA inspection is a total crock of B.S. Sounds sour, right? Here's how you make a customer: My vehicle was failed. If you know anything about VA inspections, Jeep YJ's, and the dangerous track bars, you'll know why my vehicle failed inspection. I don't care what the law is. If it causes danger for myself and my passengers, I'm going to fix it, law or not. After getting the bad news, the tech came out to speak to me (he didn't have to do that) and explained he agreed w/me & understood why the track bars were removed, as well as offered a solution to my dilemma (which I was aware of and have pursued/resolved). I was out $20, but it isn't their fault. They have to follow the law. I really appreciated the tech speaking with me. He turned a bad situation into a loyal customer. That's having the right kind of employee that actually cares about his work and the customer he serves. Turns out he's a Jeep guy! I'll be back...with vintage plates.

UPDATE BELOW Very disappointed with the service. My car wouldn’t start one day so I had it towed here since it was the closest mechanic. They found out my fuel pump had gone bad. It was an expensive fix, but the part was very expensive so I understand. Immediately after picking up my car I drove it to work, about 5 miles away. My fuel gauge went from half a tank to a quarter of a tank. As soon as I parked I called the shop back and spoke with Crystal. She told me that it was because when they replaced my fuel pump they had to take the gasoline out of the car and put it back in. She said my car was adjusting and that I needed to continue to drive it around for it to recognize the correct amount of fuel. After 3 months of driving my car, trying to fill it with gas, and being completely unaware of how much fuel I had in my tank, I decided to call back. They told me that it was probably a bad fuel pump and that these things tend to happen with after-market parts. They replaced the fuel pump a second time. Then, they told me that the problem was still there, and I would have to pay over $100 for them to find the issue. JUST to find the issue, not including the cost to fix it. I had never had an issue with my fuel gauge before they worked on my car. Furthermore, when I first brought up the issue, they gave me false information and told me to continue to drive my car. I told them that I thought it would be fair for them to run a diagnostics test, but not charge me to figure out what was wrong, since I never had the issue before they worked on my vehicle. I spoke with a mechanic and a manager, but both of them agreed that I needed to pay for them to find the issue. I’m disappointed that I’m having more issues since they have worked on my car, they’ve told me false information multiple times, they are continually trying to charge me to find the issue, and this has been progressing for 4 months now. I plan on taking my car to a new mechanic soon to have this issue resolved. **UPDATE** About two months after I left this review Alan responded. I called the shop and told him my situation. He said that, if I was willing, he would like me to give him a second chance to make it right. I dropped my car off for an appointment on Friday, and Alan called me back on Wednesday. The fuel pump they had put in my car was faulty. They replaced it twice, and had the same problem. Alan called the manufacturer, initiating a recall on the part. He ordered me a new fuel pump, from a separate manufacturer, and put it in my car at no charge to me. He completely resolved the issue. Then, he went on to apologize. I understand that that he had no control over the faulty equipment. He also apologized for the lack of/miscommunication, and explained that I should never have been told that I would have to pay for a diagnostic test if it was something that they had touched. He was also very thorough in explaining everything he did to the car, and what the specific issues were. He knew exactly what he was doing and I felt reassured that he had solved the problem. When I went to pick up my car, he had left a coupon in the passenger seat for a free oil change. I’m glad that Alan reached out to me. He made it right.

Quality work. Reasonable prices. Quick service. Don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Alan and all the techs are personable and will answer any question you have to the best of there ability. I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else. Car repairs only come three ways. Quality, Fast, and Cheap. You can only ever have two of the three. Quality and Fast but not Cheap. Fast and Cheap but not Quality. Quality and Cheap but not Fast. Blue Ridge Truck & Auto has come closer to meeting all three better than any shop I have ever been. Don't know how they do it but glad they do. Keep up the great work. Thank you.

They are honest mechanics that want the best for you and your vehicle. They don't over charge or even charge for services that dealership make you pay almost 200 for. I needed my passenger airbag code checked and they were not only willing to get the code and clear it, but did it free of charge. I am forever grateful for their service and will keep coming here for my new vehicle as well.

I went to this place a couple months back.. On the phone, very pleasant people, had my truck towed in to have some wiring done, for the turn signals, reverse lights and tag lights. I called and asked if it was ready after a week waiting, they said yes come get it. I came to pick it up and paid an insane $450 for all of it and drove a short distance down the street with my wife following me. She shortly after told me my turn signals didn’t work from behind and I got her to work though the lights with me, and sure enough, they didn’t. The only thing that worked was the front turn signals, which they replaced the wiring connecter on the side that already worked and charged me. I took it back and told them that none of it other than the front turn signals worked. They told me they were sorry about the issue, and said they wouldn’t charge me for the tag lights, and I leave it there for a couple of hours and they say it’s ready, I go to pick it up and they said the only thing I have to pay for is the new tag light sockets they installed, it was like $15 so I said okay. I go out there and look at all the lights to check them, and the reverse lights still don’t work! I already told them about all the things they didn’t do but already charged me for. They Look basically shocked when I tell them and say they’ll have it ready in a couple of more hours. I go pick it up and everything works fine. A month or so after the turn signals got a short and had to bang on it for it to work. So after re wiring it all, they still did a poor job. I won’t be returning or probably seeing another dime of the money I spent on all this that was half way messed up and not fully right even after.

So I'm not the easiest person to impress but these guys are beyond impressive!! They are everything you would hope to find in a mechanic. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff that do what they say they are going to do. The prices are better than fair and the atmosphere is homey and fun. I couldn't ever imagine taking my cars to anyone else, and neither should you!

Recently moved from out of state and needed repairs on both of our cars. Outstanding service. Had several repairs needed on a 2005 ford. They serviced my car for less than the local ford dealer and repairs were done quickly. This is my go-to repair shop now!
