The Stone House at Black Dog Salvage in

It's hard to rate this place because it depends on how you're using it. I attended a small wedding there so it was quite good. But if you had a really large crowd, it might be a problem since there seems to be one bathroom available on the main floor. It is otherwise quite a nice venue. The catering was excellent.

Our family stayed at the Stone House for my 60th and my son's 30th birthday. We all loved this historic and revitalized home. It was absolutely one of the best VRBO homes we have ever stayed in!! Christa was awesome, very attentive and a joy to work with! We loved the Black Dog Salvage (an extra bonus) being next door and seeing all the unique attention and reclaimed details that went into creating such a beautiful house. We will always cherish our visit at the Stone House and plan to return as soon as we can. Christa and Black Dog Salvage, thank you so much for a unforgettable stay!

It's beautiful.

This property will remain on the top of our list! From the amenities to the decor, this property is top notch. We enjoyed our days at Black Dog Salvage, our evening walks along the Greenway (just steps away from the house!), beverages on the beautiful porches, breakfast from Scratch biscuit (call for take out - it tends to get busy), and dinner from Local Roots. Awesome! Christa was a wonderful host, and this property absolutely exceeded our expectations. 5 stars all around!

The backdrop of greenways and #Black Dog Salvage lends to the unique experience of staying at the #Stone House, Roanoke, VA. Christa has covered every luxurious detail and will cater to your every request. It is truly one of the best nights sleep that I've experienced in years with the softest #Comphy sheets. The architectural salvage decor makes this house a one of its kind property and is perfect for large groups ( 3 bedrooms). Although the house is timeless, the bathroom fixtures are totally modern or dare I say, exquisite! I would recommend staying multiple nights to enjoy the full amenities that this property has to offer.

Absolutely the best family vacation spot! Even the teens loved the house. Can't say enough about the Black Dog Salvage hosts. We were treated like royalty. The Stone House is exquisite and we spent hours exploring every nook and cranny. We did some exploring of the area but enjoyed our down time at The House the most. Coming back in the fall. Plans already in the works!!

I hosted an event at this beautiful location. It was magical, the house is gorgeous offering excellent amenities. It has a lot of charm, it is cozy, beautifully decorated, offering several areas to relax. Luxury beds and linens, showers with climate control knobs, and an array of jets. The outdoor space offers two balconies, facing the Blue Ridge Parkway. You feel in your the lap of luxury, but still very homey. Excellence is in the details, and they sure have lots of little details to caught your eye. The only problem you may encounter: You will want to stay forever!!!

Our family spent thanksgiving at the Stonehouse, we couldn’t of asked for a more beautiful place to stay! Every room you needed to really stop and take in the uniqueness. The beds were amazing! The kitchen was over the top and had everything you needed. There was so much that impressed me about this house! The windows were one of the things that I really loved about it, they we’re very big and let in so much light. Loved everything about it.

We reserved The Stone House for our wedding venue and worked with Christa leading up to our big day. She was amazing to work with - very quick to respond to questions and very flexible. She went above and beyond in setting up the house to accommodate our guests and took note of the details. On the day of the wedding, she and another colleague came over after hours to allow us to have photos taken in the new Dog Bowl - with string lights and an awesome backdrop. The venue is great for pictures and all of our guests were in love with the renovations done on the property. We would highly recommend this for future wedding parties - who want a really unique venue for their special day. Thanks so much Black Dog Salvage - and especially Christa!
