Generally speaking, I feel that Hogan and Sons cares for our vehicles well. They address the issues of concern without squeezing us for work that doesn’t need to be performed. They address the front desk representatives are straight forward and pleasant even though repair conversations are not normally a welcome conversation.

This was a tricky repair of a windshield wiper transmission that came apart and was then out of time. For the first time since the car is a week old, and the wipers were repaired (badly) by the dealer, that my wipers have functioned properly. Thank you!

Experienced an unexpected flat tire while out running errands before the snow storm. I called Hogan and Sons in Purcellville, who recommended a towing company, and were able to squeeze me in to assess the situation. They repaired my tire - all done expeditiously, and I was out of there before my given appointment time! Josh at the front desk was personable and professional. Great experience all the way around.

Incredibly friendly and competent staff. They have a great way of working that allows you to drop off the car the night before and have the service done the next day. My car was ready before noon, and they even picked me up at home and brought me back to their shop so I could collect my car. Highly recommend them. Totally sarisfied.

10/10, found them with a Google search. Was able to give them a call and they gave a general price over the phone. Able to book same day and get the vehicle back quickly. They were slightly higher than other companies when comparing pricing (maybe 5 or 10% higher), but they were also much more competent, friendly, and also open more hours especially on Saturday which was a huge benefit.

From start to finish, the guys at Hogan and Sons were excellent in every respect. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty. Being a single lady, I appreciate doing business with cimpanies you can trust is important. Highly recommend Hogan and Sons.

Great experience. Danny was really helpful, professional and very knowledgeable! Even pointing out extra details his team noticed about my truck that I would want to look into to prevent further issues. The employees were really nice they did a great job. I’m really happy with the results, I’ll definitely be back! It’s tough to find companies these days that follow through on their commitments and these guys go above and beyond the bare minimum. They even cut their estimated time for the job in half, and still gave me top notch quality workmanship! Thanks y’all I highly recommend this shop.

I brought my 2010 Prius in with a check engine and tire light on. When we dropped off the car, my son told the service advisor that he thought the issue was the EGR valve; they were dismissive and then came back with that it was an ECM issue and they couldn't do anything with it. My son said it was definitely not that issue, but they were again dismissive and told me to take it to the dealer. I had to then take it to the dealer and guess what? It was the EGR valve (and a lot of damage because of it). To make matters worse, once the dealer took a look at the car I found out that the tires (again, tire light on) on the driver side were at 18.5 psi (instead of 35 and 33 respectively) AND one wheel bearing needed urgent replacement. So I'm out $120 for an incorrect diagnosis AND they sent me home with bad tires and a bad wheel bearing and put me in danger because they knew I had to drive it to a dealer and the closest dealer was 20 minutes away. Extremely disappointing experience (especially when I also had a 10 am appointment for oil change and had to pick it up at 1:30 because it still wasn't even started).

Dropped off daughter’s CRV to get oil change and tires rotated. Ask for the extended life oil. Picked up car they didn’t rotate the tires and put in synthetic oil not the high mileage oil I asked for. I went back inside to let them know they did not rotate the tires. Instead of offering to do it while I was there. The front desk person said they would do it next time. Won’t be a next time not going back!!!

Josh went out of his way to make an unexpected car repair as stress-free as possible. He listened carefully while I explained the issue and was promptly able to get my car serviced. His efficient and kind communication made all the difference!

K. Jones was great. Explained everything and even showed me the damage to my tire(s) and why they needed to both be replaced. She even provided assistance by finding discounts where they could be applied.

Been going here for years - I’ve always had a fair and honest experience here. They’ve helped me take great care of several cars. Danny, Chris, Keisha and Josh are friendly, funny, and helpful. They are happy to explain things and get my car done as soon as possible. The courtesy shuttle is also really nice as a service. This is an honest business that doesn’t recommend what you don’t need. Staff are courteous & understanding. Edit 10/25/25 - Thanks Josh for taking care of my car and getting the work done fast. Thanks for honestly telling me earlier in the year how much longer my parts could go before they actually need to be replaced. Thanks for getting me a great price on the work today. Unfortunately I did pay for another tire pressure sensor to be replaced today (2 front ones are new) and now none of the tire pressures are displayed…but I was told the other TPMS batteries need to be replaced in the rear so hopefully it works next time I come in to replace those.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do NOT recommend. Dishonest people run that place. Not only could they not fix my car, when I went to go clean it out my most prized possession on my car, a Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates/Penguins all in one sticker/magnet was gone. The ONE thing I really wanted from my car that they cannot repair. And of course when I asked about it at the service desk nobody knew anything- surprise surprise. Talk about kicking me when I'm down. Thanks for nothing.

5 stars for their service and getting used in quickly when we got a flat tire. 3 stars for telling us it would be done by 2, then at 2:00 saying a little longer and at 2:30 saying another 30 minutes. If they had told us up front when to expect it, and then what the delay was, if there was one, we could have made some arrangements, but the two "almost done delays" caused some issues due us making arrangements for previous commitments.

I really appreciate Hogan & Sons Tire & Auto. Thankfully nothing major with either of my vehicles which are now without warranties. I took one of my vehicles in for an inspection and was given a small task list of “recommended” things to do like, a transmission flush and brake fluid flush. My vehicle is 8 years old and never had these services before. After researching these tasks, it made sense to keep my truck’s engine “healthy.” There are places that will try to upsell a consumer, but not Hogan & Sons. They will “recommend” services that should be done to prolong the engine life, but aren’t pushy about it. With the prices of new cars, it’s far more cost effective to follow their advice and get recommended services! They are good people.

Service advisors were polite in person. Only grip was phone contact....they liked to interrupt and cut me off. It was a simple service of inspections and oil change. I will return.

Dropped my vehicle for an emissions inspection and oil change. I was told that emissions failed because the check engine light was on. It was not on when I dropped the vehicle off, and has never been on in the 6 years I've owned it. Fine. Coincidences happen, right? $700+ later, I go to pick it up. The emissions inspection can only be done after I drive another 100 miles, and the oil change was never done. So I spent $700 to get nothing done that was originally asked for. The icing on the cake is that the vehicle had to be left over the weekend waiting on parts. As this is my work truck, I had to stop by and get some tools out with my spare key. The truck was left unlocked in an unsecured lot while the business was closed. The whole experience leaves me feeling a little cheated. It will be very interesting to see if, after H&S repairs, another shop passes emissions, or if things are worse than before. Fingers crossed they didn't do any damage.

The folks at Hogan and Sons were able to fit me in during a very busy day so that I didn’t have to wait six or seven hours to get my emissions test done. They were incredibly courteous and very professional and so helpful.

I had a great experience with this Hogan & Son’s in Purcellville. The staff were super friendly and helpful over the phone, and I really appreciated that they were flexible about letting me drop off my car, or tires, and pick it up the next day if I was pressed for time. I purchased new tires here some time ago and, after running into a few issues with nails and road debris recently, they made the process of getting them changed, or replaced on the frame, very smooth and at a reasonable cost. Excellent service all around—I’ll definitely be coming back for my tire needs.

This is the first time I have used Hogan and sons for any work on my cars. They are very organized and very professional to work with. I found them also be very courteous on the phone and to get back right to me when they were done with my car I would recommend you give him a try if your here in Purcellville!

I debated on posting this review but decided to go ahead and share my experience. I needed 4 new tires for my car. I had called and price compared several local dealers. As part of my research, I check Google reviews. Overall, Hogan had the best reviews so I decided to move forward with them. I completed an online quote from their website and received an email confirmation of the quote. I called the Leesburg location to schedule the appointment and get next steps. I was told that the tires I wanted were not in stock but they had the same brand and a slightly better tire for only $2 more/tire. Plus, they said I could come in that day. They offered me a free shuttle back to my apartment while they worked on my car and I was told someone would pick me up that evening when my car was finished. I got a call around 1730 and was told my car was ready and to come by since they close at 1800. I told them I needed the shuttle and the man on the phone said they didn't have anyone to shuttle me and I'd have to wait until the morning. I told him as a single woman I am not comfortable being without transportation for the evening/night. He then told me to Uber and he would give me a discount to cover that cost. He then said he'd call me back in a few minutes. At 1745 he called and said he could send someone so I got ready and headed outside. The shuttle arrived and I went into the office to pay my bill. The total was close to $200 more than my internet quote. I questioned this and the man, clearly frustrated with trying to close the shop and direct other employees and help me, said he couldn't help me and he didn't know and said to come back on the morning to speak with the manager. I paid the bill and took my car. In the morning, I noticed there was a lot of grease on my tires and wheels from where they put the tires on that they hadn't wiped off. Small thing but still a thing. I went to the office and spoke with the manager. He said he added a tire warranty and forgot to tell me about it. He also said there was a sensor kit that was technically optional but highly recommended that they replaced on my car. I requested a refund for both as they were never discussed with me. He tried to sell me on the importance of both but I declined. In the end, he did refund me my money. I was quite upset with how the office staff interacted with me when I picked up my car and when I went to get my refund. As a result, I made contact with the district manager. She listened to my concerns and validated that my experience was not the norm nor the level of customer service expected of their organization. She asked if there was anything she could do and I replied no, but I appreciated her listening to my concerns. While the district manager was helpful and willing to speak with me that doesn't negate my overall experience and that's why I am giving 3 stars. Had I not been able to speak with her, I would have given 1 star and a much more negative review. The bottom line is they tried to correct the situation and I appreciate that.
