Walked in to the empty store and no acknowledgment from either the two fellas behind the counter, I had to greet them with a “good afternoon gentlemen”. I went to turn in the “core” old battery to get my $19 back, they said I needed a receipt… like really? Can’t they look it up (I thought), anyway so I said ok and they watched me walk to my car to look for it for several minutes. I did not find it so I walked in again to pick up my old battery and leave then they started moving and checking if there was another way then can look it up, what an unpleasant extra work I caused! I didn’t argue and took it lightly with humor, but has to be said so hopefully next customer es better served.
Took my battery in for a warranty they told me that it was out of stock sent me to Springfield just for Springfield to say that they're not going to honor the warranty
The gentleman at the counter didn't have the battery I was looking for and couldn't determine that the two batteries that he did have in stock wouldn't fit
I AM WRITING TO EXPRESS MY IMMENSE DISPLEASURE AND FRUSTRATION WITH A RECENT EXPERIENCE I HAD AT NAPA, AN AUTO STORE THAT I ONCE HELD IN HIGH REGARD. THE ISSUE AT HAND INVOLVES A BATTERY THAT I PURCHASED FROM YOUR STORE, WHICH HAS CONSISTENTLY FAILED TO PERFORM AS EXPECTED. THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT HAS CAUSED ME SIGNIFICANT INCONVENIENCE AND HAS SHAKEN MY CONFIDENCE IN NAPA'S REPUTATION FOR RELIABILITY AND QUALITY.
ON JUNE 15, 2024, I VISITED THE NAPA STORE LOCATED AT 8196 TERMINAL RD, LORTON, VA 22079, HOPING TO REPLACE MY CAR BATTERY. THE EMPLOYEE WHO ASSISTED ME RECOMMENDED A BATTERY THAT THEY ASSURED WOULD BE RELIABLE AND LONG-LASTING. TRUSTING THE EXPERTISE OF YOUR STAFF AND THE REPUTATION OF YOUR BRAND, I PURCHASED THE BATTERY AND HAD IT INSTALLED ON THE SPOT.
HOWEVER, MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BATTERY HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF A NIGHTMARE. FROM THE MOMENT IT WAS INSTALLED, IT HAS FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. WITHIN A FEW DAYS, I NOTICED THAT MY CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING. INITIALLY, I DISMISSED IT AS A MINOR ISSUE, THINKING IT MIGHT BE DUE TO OTHER FACTORS. BUT AS THE DAYS PASSED, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND WORSENED.
THE BATTERY WOULD DIE WITHOUT WARNING, LEAVING ME STRANDED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. EACH TIME, I HAD TO CALL FOR ASSISTANCE, WHICH NOT ONLY COST ME TIME BUT ALSO ADDED UNNECESSARY EXPENSES. ONCE, I WAS LEFT STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE LATE AT NIGHT, WHICH WAS NOT ONLY INCONVENIENT BUT ALSO TERRIFYING.
I RETURNED TO THE NAPA STORE AT 8196 TERMINAL RD MULTIPLE TIMES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. EACH TIME, I WAS MET WITH ASSURANCES THAT THE BATTERY WOULD BE CHECKED AND THAT EVERYTHING WOULD BE RESOLVED. HOWEVER, THESE PROMISES TURNED OUT TO BE EMPTY. THE BATTERY WAS TESTED AND SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED," BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.
IT BECAME CLEAR TO ME THAT THE BATTERY I WAS SOLD WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE START. I RELIED ON NAPA'S REPUTATION FOR QUALITY PRODUCTS AND TRUSTED YOUR STAFF'S RECOMMENDATIONS, ONLY TO BE SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED. THE CONSISTENT FAILURE OF THE BATTERY TO HOLD A CHARGE AND ITS UNPREDICTABLE BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE.
THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED ME A GREAT DEAL OF STRESS AND INCONVENIENCE. I HAVE MISSED IMPORTANT APPOINTMENTS, BEEN LATE TO WORK, AND SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS DEALING WITH A CAR THAT REFUSES TO START RELIABLY. MOREOVER, THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF CONTINUOUSLY HAVING TO CALL FOR ASSISTANCE AND POTENTIALLY REPLACING THE BATTERY HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANT.
THE LACK OF SUPPORT AND RESOLUTION FROM YOUR STORE HAS ONLY ADDED TO MY FRUSTRATION. EACH VISIT TO THE NAPA STORE AT 8196 TERMINAL RD RESULTED IN TEMPORARY FIXES OR ASSURANCES THAT THE BATTERY WAS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER, ONLY FOR THE PROBLEMS TO RETURN SHORTLY AFTER. IT IS CLEAR THAT THE BATTERY IS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY.
I EXPECTED BETTER FROM NAPA. YOUR STORE'S FAILURE TO PROVIDE A RELIABLE PRODUCT AND THE SUBSEQUENT FAILURE TO ADEQUATELY ADDRESS THE ISSUE HAS BEEN DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING. I URGE YOU TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION.
I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND FOR THE DEFECTIVE BATTERY OR A REPLACEMENT WITH A NEW, FULLY FUNCTIONAL BATTERY. ADDITIONALLY, I EXPECT COMPENSATION FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND EXPENSES I HAVE INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. THIS INCLUDES THE COSTS OF EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND ANY OTHER RELATED EXPENSES.
IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED PROMPTLY AND SATISFACTORILY, I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO ESCALATE THIS MATTER FURTHER. THIS MAY INCLUDE CONTACTING CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCIES AND SHARING MY EXPERIENCE ON PUBLIC PLATFORMS TO WARN OTHER CUSTOMERS ABOUT THE POTENTIAL RISKS OF PURCHASING BATTERIES FROM NAPA.
IN CONCLUSION, THE BATTERY I PURCHASED FROM THE NAPA STORE AT 8196 TERMINAL RD, LORTON, VA HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF A NIGHTMARE. ITS CONSTANT FAILURE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY HAS CAUSED ME SIGNIFICANT INCONVENIENCE, STRESS, AND EXPENSES.
FALSE ADVERTISING!!! They will say they offer returns on their overpriced "premium" parts "if it doesn't work", but once you bring the items back with receipt TWO DAYS after buying it, they will say "I can't sell it anymore because it has already been installed and its collected smell and color". I have a old car and its common to see some minor grease when my mechanic installed the part to test it and uninstalled it. Their part made my problem even worse. Its sad seeing companies being dishonest and unprofessional. Don't offer returns if you are not gonna take the responsibility!
Not a good experience, mid age Hispanic guy didn't acknowledge my presence as I was standing right in front on him, he continued to eat his bowl of frosted flakes. Finally he said may I help you with an attitude... terrible experience.
Seems like anything I need, they have is stock. Price is reasonable (slightly higher than online, but no shipping charge and immediately have item in hand). Have been coming to this store for 30 years - will keep coming back; will gladly pay a little more to have a store that has ample inventory and a knowledgable staff.
Awesome store. Had the part I needed so I could fix my broken snowblower and they were open with 6+ inches of snow on the ground. Excellent store and great staff members
I went here after visiting three different auto parts store six times. The first person I interacted with was loading the printer. He acknowledged me when I walked in by saying we will be with you in a minute. I then said hi how are you today he snapped at me WE WILL BE WITH IN A MINUTE. Not the warm response I expected but the store had what I needed. It was end of the day so I guess he was tired. This was my first impression a grumpy employee. I would return if I need to but I prefer less grumpy.
Not impressed with this place. They sold me the wrong part, which I found out when the car was up on the lift at the Fort Belvoir Auto shop, resulting in me having to rent the bay for five hours instead of one hour, and other customers not being able to use it during the time my car sat there disabled while I searched Fairfax County for a new part.
What I thought I bought from them was a remanufactured VW axle shaft, but when I pulled the old one out of the car, it was clearly a very different axle, and the flange was so wide the bolts wouldn't even reach through to the transaxle. It was not a reman OE part. It was much cheaper, with a very thin axle tube. I brought it back and they confirmed that it was the right NAPA part number, but comparing them side by side it was obviously the wrong part. As the original owner of this car, I can guarantee the axle I was replacing was the one installed at the factory.
They refunded my money, but that doesn't exactly make up for the hassle of finding out you have the wrong part when your car is all torn apart. And it doesn't make up for me having to waste my time making three trips (to order it, pick it up, then return it).
In the end I took the half-shaft to the VW dealer and had the boots replaced. I should have just ordered one from Advanced Auto in the first place.
I've been sold the wrong parts here on three occasions. Wrong brake pads. Wrong filters. Wrong plugs. Be 100% sure the parts are correct, or you'll make another trip. Don't rely on the service.
