Can pretty much take anything you have to throw away at this landfill, from tires to electronics, household garbage, motor oil, landscape materials, appliances big and small they take it all.. have to be a residence of Lexington county though, they will check your license for verification.

Never have a problem taking things that can't go in your regular household garbage. Whenever I pull up to the window they're very nice to you and tell you where to take it!

Confusing and it doesn't seem like the recycle program is what I would like it to be. We just were told to toss the cardboard in with a household trash 😞

4 years now and no compost are you kidding me. They need to kick this Atlas company out and go back to how it was.

This was our first visit to the landfill. Frankly, the setup and system are confusing. We had a myriad of items we brought for disposal. Due to the types of items, it meant going to four 'color' areas. The attendant verbally provided the areas to stop at but it was unclear. As most of the areas had long lines and we were unsure which items to drop in the appropriate 'color' points, we followed a UHaul truck whose driver seemed equally confused. Both of us dump both our large loads in the household waste area. Probably not correct but, when guidance is scant, the outcome will be unpredictable. An odd thing was one of the workers was able to use some of the massive amount of cardboard we chucked into household waste to clear clogs in his disposal truck. Guess we provided a service to the landfill. You're welcome! Recommendation providing a handout to landfill customers as to whar each color designates. Dropping this info on the website would be ideal as well. As an aside, we went to the Augusta Road facility a few weeks ago and it was clearly marked...even if most of its bins were full.

Needed to visit the landfill for the first time on Tues around 1:30pm to dump the broken Jeep Hurricane ride on toy, a printer, and a 55" smart TV (they don't make lasting things anymore). I waited patiently in line (I think I was #5 inline) to go through the scale. The lady behind the window told me to follow the orange line, so I did. It was a long drive (maybe a quarter mile) and I passed electric recycle barn on the left side. I passed stone sign on the right painted with green, blue, orange, so I just follow along until I got to the orange entrance fork. Wow, it turned into uneven dirt road with lots of debris on the road. I tried to follow the most traveled tire tracks and stayed on the right side. Finally, I saw 2 trucks backing to the right side and people were busy unloading their junk. I did the same and dumped the ride on toy car in the orange line. I came out and stopped by the green barn (electric recycle center) and dropped the TV, laptop and printer.

Had a pretty good experience. I wish the dumpsters were more inline so I could go down one lane to everything I needed to dump bc I'm not very good at backing a trailer so I have to keep going around but I'm sure it's set up the way it is for good reason. It's a lot better than it was when I came here with my dad when I was a kid. I appreciate the road paved and clean of foreign debris. I'm really not sure if the hours bc what is posted online is different than at the gate. I'm thinking the online hours are the actual landfill hours so I posted a photo of the dump hours at the gate. Have a great day! *****Update- I had to make another trip. All I took off on that trip was a couch and a chair made of old wood that was already broken down to pieces. I wasn't sure where to take it and the guy at the gate dump said his container was full and asked me to take it to the landfill. He was really nice so I agreed but I didn't know the landfill part was past my ankles deep of soft dirt and full of sharp debris. I was concerned about my tires. It was so hard to back the trailer in with the tractor roaming around kicking up major dirt dust. It was hard to breathe. Workers just kept walking out in front of me and I kept having to stop and my trailer kept getting stuck. Other people coming in with bigger trailers kept pulling out in front of me and blocking me from being able to maneuver the trailer. It was an absolute nightmare! I don't understand why the container was full and it's right there at the landfill. Regular vehicles should NOT be going into the landfill! I left 2 stars bc the guy was nice and the station lady allowed me through using my State SLED ID bc I forgot my drivers license. If this is how they're supposed to run the landfill then they need to make sure they're dumping the containers at the dump and only allow commercial vehicles in the dirt parts of the landfill. I am extremely disappointed.

I own three houses in that county. For some time now, I've been trying to invest my time in cleaning some of them. This morning, I went to drop off some trash at that place, and the collections lady didn't want to let me in because my license wasn't from Lexington. So, I offered to pay her and not waste my time anymore. I think the attitude of these people is absurd.

You know maybe with a better system in place to keep the line from being so ridiculous pretty much all the time people wouldn't be dumping their garbage and stuff on the side of the road. With all of the money this state waste on many things you would figure we would have a better system in place to get into the landfill that's been in place for decades. You can't go to the local collection center right beside them because the trash cans are always full, because nobody's dumping those. So they say go to the landfill, well if it takes me an hour to get in the damn thing, and there's metal and Nails all over the freaking road. Just doesn't make sense

At the first place on the way into the landfill area, one black gentleman told me my garbage went into the yard waste bin,I pulled up to it and the next guy tried to tell me that I had to pay him $5 in order to unload it. I told him no, and he insisted on giving him $2 to unload it. I still told him no, and then a third black guy says " then take it in back to the landfill " and walked away. What the hell kind of BS was that?

I rarely come to this landfill, but every time I do, it’s a bad experience. The last three visits have been frustrating due to a worker at the scale with a bad attitude and poor communication. They don’t give clear directions and will sit in their vehicles or machinery, even wave, but wait until you’ve gotten out of your vehicle and opened your trailer doors to tell you, ‘You can’t dump here dump over there ,’ or ‘Back up some more, please.’ Today was the final straw. This was the only landfill open within a 20-mile radius, and it took us 30 minutes to get there from Columbia. After waiting in a long line, we finally got to the window only to be told we couldn’t dump C&D because of the city we were coming from. Apparently, they don’t take out-of-town junk, even though we’ve used this location before, and they’ve checked our IDs, fully aware of where we came from. Where did this rule even come from?! No other landfill within 100 miles has ever said anything like that. Where is the owner or management?!

I don’t even want to give them one star . Today was absolutely ridiculous! We went to drop a load off and a man that works there approached my husband after my husband had already unload the trailer and the man that works there pulled up there when my husband was unloading and never said a word to we went to pull off to leave . The man in the truck pulls up and in a rude attitude telling my husband he should have pulled back further my husband apologizes and then tries to leave and them man kept getting louder as he tells my husband oh you will be sorry next time when you got a flat tire and keeps saying if we try to come back we would not be allowed to and let me add this was only ate second time ever coming to the landfill . As we try to drive off once again the man that is in a company vehicle started backing up close yo the truck as we were trying to leave still trying to argue with my husband so as we leave we wonted to make a complaint and the lady’s at the front was very nice and they got the field manager and as we were telling him are concerns he was not interested in what we were saying and laughed about it . Very unprofessional.

⚠️⚠️ QUESTION ⚠️⚠️ Can you grab tires from this location? And do you have to pay to take them, if so how much? I want the tires.

I drove out there to buy some compost, everyone was very nice and I really like the compost. I wish I knew someone with a large truck to bring me a few tons.

I am a frequent customer at the landfill to purchase compost and mulch! Very well kept, clean, organized, great signs, friendly and helpful staff. The addition of the new scales has been awesome and gas definitely helped improve the process. Keep up the good work! I appreciate all of you!

They need better signs out there. I have never been to a landfill before so I did not know that I had to stop on the scale. Apparently, there was a truck blocking the tiny stop sign they had so I didn’t see it and kept going. So the man flagged me down to give me a tax lesson on how much tax dollars we pay for the trash etc. I apologized explained this was my first time and that was not intentional otherwise I would have drove past him and not acknowledge him leaving. Then I went back to get another load. This time I followed instructions but the lady in the scale booth decided that she wanted to give me a piece of her mind as well. Ok cool! She then tells me to follow the orange arrows. Let’s just say you better be on a scavenger hunt looking for those arrows! There was nobody out there to assist me. Use the money to get better signs people!!!!!!! Especially if your going to be rude and not help.

Two words: BRAIN DEAD. Didn't listen to what I said. God forbid I have to deal with them ever again.

My experience today was awesome!! While there was a line, it moved at a decent pace. The county employee was cheerful and personable, and helpful. The facility was well kept and organized!!! Keep up the good work!!! ;)

Have been using Edmunds landfill for a while without any issues. But after today I can't see myself going back. With my experience I know how much the junk I dump weighs. The lady at the scale house just charged us for 3000 pounds when in reality there is no way that the 1/5 of a trailer of a few bags of clothes and some broken end tables wieghed any more than a few hundred pounds. I am appalled, even with a full trailer of metal my trailer only holds about 2500 hundred pounds. I can't believe the racket they are running. There was no way to defend the fact that we only came in with a few hundred pounds once we dumped the load. The lady was very rude, her attitude was by far the worst we have ever dealt with in the junk business. If you plan to use this dump i urge you to take photos of your load prior to dumping and reweighing.
