Constant explosions that are incredibly triggering to my husband with combat PTSD. I wish they would be more considerate to the neighborhoods behind them and follow proper procedures to minimize the impact they are causing to the community.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. The lady in the front office is stealing money from customers pockets. My father and I dropped off over 1000# worth of steel during multiple trips up to the recycling yard and she tried to tell us we only came up there twice. Gave us a skimpy check that did NOT accurately pay for what we brought and told us no more could be done. Terrible service, terrible woman. I would not recommend this place to anyone, anymore. So now we are out of the money we should have recieved for the steel we brought up there.
Trucks with CMC HAVE priority over the drivers for companies. Have been sitting in yard for 2 1/2 hours and dump trailers steady going around. Trucks not being unloaded so drivers can get to their next run. Costing companies money and regular drivers money on a daily basis. Should be first come first serve, Not putting CMC drivers ahead of others because they are company Trucks. Costing others money and their losses are minimal.
Update:::; sitting here again. Trucks still not getting unloaded. Companies still losing money for drivers. CMC drivers and other's have priority over first come and sit. Cranes not unloading. Been here 1 1/2 hours already. Still sitting with three trucks that were already sitting. Man that supposed to be directing is just riding a golf cart around talking and just doing nothing. It is worse now than ever. Drivers sat yesterday for over 3 hours each. Arrived at 11 am. Left finally at 3 pm. Three trucks got flat tires in the mill itself from rebar sticking up and they let the trucks back onto it. Someone needs to help this mill get back on track. Yes, the people are nice, does not help when contract drivers are trying to make a living. This is an update after over two months and no change. This mill needs help.
This place is an absolute joke. I didn't need the money. But I wasn't expecting that And I do not want to do business here ever again. The fact that you rip people that bad. It's sad i'm not from georgia and I am proud of it after seeing that all, I can say is wow

I haven't been in a while I got a email saying they has a promotion this week, I carried a load,this morning thinking I was supposed to get the 25 cents extra, I asked the lady at the window about the promotion, she told me that she has already, process with the payment, which did not include the 25 cents, she told I should have told her about the promotion, I thought me being a customer she would have informed me about the promotion, long story short she didn't give me the extra, was not friendly at all, she have the wrong job to be dealing with the public, I was there this morning between 11-12:30 and the guy on the yard, fair 😕 I have been going to this place over 20 years or more the ,customer service is a zero
We live not far from their plant, and things were fine for a bit, bit the explosions from there location have been getting worse. Just had one today that hit so hard it knocked pictures off of my wall. As a combat vet, I sure as hell am not a fan...
Per usual i have been sitting here for hours. All crains running but none are unloading trucks. I miss the good ol days of 30 minute unload times. Instead trying to make living on 2 to 3 hour unload times. Spartanburg still does it but this place is trash.
CMC takes advantage of women they have the lowest prices and the gentleman who does your metal doesn't know that there are different kinds of brass and other things, service is terrible except for the lady at the window,we will not be coming there anymore.
The forklift operator is the laziest human being I've ever come in contact with. All the guys that actually cared about the customers are gone. I've been selling there for years but I can't continue. My spirit is in a bad place when I leave and it wasn't that way before. We work hard to collect our scrap. Without us you don't have a business. Also, I was promised a check because they shorted me. That was a yr ago and I still haven't gotten that check. The only reason I continued to go to this particular scrapyard us because it was close to my house
Some days u get in and out then others youre waiting. So if u are an otr flatbed driver expect to wait. But you are not that far from a. Pilot if youre hungry
Cmc recycling is the best place to go they I been going there along and they know my name real good but the guy that be watching you unload don't want to help you when you need help he will just sit there and talk on is phone and act like you not talking to him but other then that it a good place to go
Came by here while doing some work on this side of town. Will admit, could use some better signage but, I suspect that partly due to people not wanting to know there's a yard here. People were friendly. Little different from my usual yard. Will return if I'm ever in the area again.
CMC Recycling is ok but you have to be careful as some of the employees will use cars on the forks of machines to push back scrap that is being unloaded and stuff will fall towards you without warning and you will have to jump out of the way from being hit. It can also be very messy where you unload. They are open 8am till 4pm Monday through Friday.
Seems like a decent scrap yard. You need to educate yourself by trial and error though. A lack of signage doesn't help the uninitiated, and if you are bringing non ferrous stuff, you need to have a permit from the county with you when you show up. Every scrap yard I've been to is a fairly colorful experience. No exception here.
I use to love going to CMC . The guys that was there was cool. They would help me if needed. The guys the got now don't do nothing but stand there and watch you. Don't even talk to you
Friendly and helpful people. Had me unloaded and back on the road in a reasonable time. Driving areas very well maintained especially for a recycling facility.
