With regard to the reviews complaining about inaccurate scales, ignored phone calls, and chronic closed doors: these complaints are obviously connected with the prior owners because I've never come across an occasion where their phone was not answered, the scales were inaccurate, or that they were closed during regular business hours.

This place is a scam. They offered my parents $0.07/pound of their scrap metal, much of which is high quality and can be used for fabrication and resold at a higher profit. The owner, Milton Hutto, then told them he won't pay them anything because the transport of the metal cost him too much money in hourly wages to his employees. They never agreed to pay his business expenses, they were simply selling scrap. They are senior citizens shutting down their auto restoration business, and he took advantage of them. Milton owes my parents over $600 for the 9000lbs+ of scrap he took. All he sent was a hand written "invoice" with his hourly wages and gas totals, and then told my mom he would give her $100 so she won't be too upset with him. Happy to provide screenshots to anyone who has had a similar experience getting ripped off by Milton.
Wow! The new owners have really turned this place around. The scales are FINALLY accurate! The staff WERE SUPER HELPFUL AND knows what they are doing and had me in and out of there with a pocket full of money within minutes! I’ll definitely be back!
I visit Lexington recycling at least twice a week and love the place. I have had a few issues but when asking questions with other employees or the owner they all got resolved immediately. Everyone makes mistakes and that happens when you handle as many customers as they do daily. They are really good people and will continue to take my business there and will refer as many as possible.
I have to have my candy taken to here for Xtra cash . But I have to help me while I am disabled . Keep going there and my help says it's closed . They will not answer phone as well
I've been by multiple times and NEVER open. I've called and called and called and no answer. Are they still.open? Why can you not put a sign up on status?????? So horribly frustrating! And agree, they seem like you're bothering them when you do visit them. No one seems courteous there. Kenny was always wonderful.
Lately, I burn my gas to go there and they're not open. One morning I came and the gate was closed, they were there, but wouldn't even acknowledge me.

Every time my husband or I have gone during scheduled hours it’s closed. Phone number on sign is disconnected and after searching it up no one answers. Friendly people and happy with prices WHEN someone is there but I don’t know when that is 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Can't get anybody to pick up the phone you can't leave a voicemail according to neighboring businesses they haven't been open since Easter. Used this place a lot was always happy with it, but if I can't have a voicemail or update your status on Google or a sign on the gate something. Apparently it's closed and has been for several weeks
Terrible service, went there because it was close to the house. I went on 3 different occasions thinking the 1st time was an off day. Nope Terrible service all 3 times. Understaffed, Staff seems bothered when you pull in. I will make the trip to Mid Carolina instead.
A rip off!! I gave them 20 pounds of bare bright stripped copper wire. An entire trailer small trailer full of scrap steel, 30 gallon barrel full of insulated copper wire, a kitchen size trash can full of aluminum two bags of aluminum cans kitchen size bags, small amount of brass, an entire cloth grocery bag full of aluminum insulated wire, and a paint can full of strips copper wire of different sorts. And all they gave me was $108!!!!! So if 20 lb of bare bright if you even give me $3 would be 60 bucks so you're telling me $48 for everything else that's insane and they didn't write me a receipt so I can't go back and say anything was even wrong!!!!
I don’t know if the guy thought I wasn’t paying attention to the scale when he was weighing my cans but 60+40=100 and he only paid me for 80 lbs. I won’t be back. I know the garbage bags didn’t weigh 10lbs.
Complete rip off. I understand they have to make some money too but to give the costumer less than 20% of what you brought them is worth is robbery. Should be ashamed of themselves. Not worth the gas it took to get there. Go somewhere else.
