We visited this AMAZING place today and we absolutely loved it. It’s not just a store- it’s an experience. The owners are lovely. The selection is incredible. They have the most unique selection of architectural salvage, antiques, and furniture we’ve ever seen. It was sublime! Update: We came into town and went back to the shop today. The shop is more lovely than ever and the owners were as friendly and captivating as ever. This shop is next level. A “don’t miss” of Charleston.

Met with Randy today. Very nice, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. Took the time to school me up on an item I had trouble getting info on. My new go to for vintage/antique furniture. Store is loaded with neat, hard to find items. Highly recommend for local transactions and getting solid advice/information.

A good amount of salvaged and reproduction items. Prices are competitive with other like stores in the Charleston area. Which means a little on the high end compared to stores more inland or to the north or south.

The gentlemen at Architectural Antiques and Design were so nice and helpful! I was looking for a door with stained glass and while they didn’t have what I needed because of Charleston Counties regs on external doors, they pointed me in the right direction and gave me a TON of information and recommendations on what to do to find what I was looking for! Great people and beautiful store. I’ll be back for garden fixtures probably!

It was amazing. I was on a hunt for something in particular that I didn't see while I was there. But boy do I have some more things I think I need now! Thank you for spending so much time with us.

I love coming here every few months to see what's changed. The owners have a great eye for salvaged items, and I admire their mission to promote more reuse of materials. One of my favorite purchases from Architectural Antiques & Design was an antique fire insurance plaque made of plaster that was hanging in their back garden area. We have it hanging on our front porch for the added protection. Great place for treasure hunting :)

They have some really unique and tasteful items here that I haven't seen anywhere else. I also got an excellent bit of advice regarding restoring an antique I didn't buy here. Well worth the trip. Just be sure you don't miss them. Their shop is tucked away in the back between the Fitness Place and Warehouse 61 so don't miss it!

Many fine historical pieces rescued from Charleston's original homes. Extremely knowledgeable owner took his time with us as we looked for mantels.

I have shopped here for many years. I could spend hours there during each visit. The owners are lovely. We always have a great chat during my visits. They know their stuff, so knowledgable. I always find a treasure. Do not miss the garden area with amazing garden items. They have everything!

Great selection of architectural pieces and the guy running the place was really knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and where things come from

Decided to go treasure hunting on a recent trip to the area. This place was our second stop. BIG Mistake!! We made it about 5 feet inside the door of his "4000 square foot" space before we decided we would not be purchasing anything from this pompous a$$. The man who greeted us at the door was rude, condescending and unwelcoming. I do not recommend wasting your time here.

The man working was snobby and acted as though we were “below” him and his price range upon walking in the door. Extremely rude and temperamental when simply asked for directions on where some of the less expensive/bargain items were AFTER he volunteered to brag that an urn we happened to GLANCE at was 6,000 dollars. We eventually had to walk straight back out the door without getting past the entrance area because of the man getting offended at our question and attempting to instigate an altercation basically. Will NEVER return here because of the immediate uncomfortable attitude, even when he said “hello” he acted as if we were annoying him by coming in the store. Just extremely uncalled for to treat a customer in the way he did. I wish I could write more about how weird this whole encounter was but I’ll stop here.

Neat finds, layout is a smidge cluttered so watch your step and have fun.

This place is huge, don't be fooled by the street view. If you have a ton of money and want to buy some really old dusty musty stuff, this is the place for you.

The knowledge and kindness of the owners shines through in every nook cranny and crevice of this fabulous establishment. Highly recommend you run don't walk

I stop in Architectural Antiques and Design every few months because I love preservation and have worked on several historic homes over the past three years. Jeff and Randy are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They know where every piece in the store came from and the year it was made...it's impressive. They go above and beyond to help their customers which is a rarity these days. I love treasure hunting in this store and am thankful they save so many Charleston architectural treasures for others to repurpose!

Love this wonderful and intriguing place!!! I experienced wonderful customer service today and didn't even go into the store. I called at 4:55 p.m. to see what time they closed which was 5:00. I was told his partner might still be there and I could probably catch him. I told him I was about 10 minutes away and I would just come tomorrow and thanked him. He called me back within a minute and told me he had spoken to his partner and he was willing to wait for me which I thought was going above and beyond. I thanked him for his kindness but told him I couldn't keep him late as I only needed a $2 or $3 caster to go onto an antique bed. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and the great customer service. Great place with great owners!!! Shop Local!!!

Great place to treasure hunt! Super antiques that are unique. A true gem.

Hidden gem, has almost anything you could want for a great price. Remodeling or redesigning, this place is for you. Chairs, tables and all manner of things of the more esoteric side.

Owners are incredibly knowledgeable about their inventory, and extremely professional. Enjoyed every transaction! Shop has a variety of interesting goods from doors, windows, and garden items to furniture and lighting.

Will not spend a dime there. One owner was so nice and friendly, however, his partner was terribly rude. He comes across as quite the snob. We are in the market to spend a pretty good amount of money on architectural salvage for a renovation. We wont be spending it with them though.

Great experience. Beautiful & amazing things throughout the store. And when they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, the shop owner directed me to a couple of spots that might have what I was looking for. I don't usually get this kind of service - a shop owner sending me somewhere else for my shopping. Thank you!

I stopped by the shop Saturday while out shopping. Who knew there was so much square footage hiding behind the small store front. I explored room after room of amazing one-of-a-kind goodies!!! Found two items to take home and was VERY impressed with the customer service. Do yourself a favor and take the time to see all Architectural Design has to offer.
