I took it to Sunnyside and they had me fixed and out the door in no time at a fraction of the price it would have cost just to diagnose at the dealership. These guys really know their stuff and are extremely reasonable with their pricing.

I love this place. I met John years ago through a friend and when I ended up needing to have some work done, Sunnyside came through in such a great way that it left me realizing just how poor most other automotive/truck related experiences have been in comparison. I've referred a few people over the years and every one of them has had a similar result, so here's a quick shout out to John and Kenny. I appreciate you guys.
My son turned me on to this place year ago and I couldn't be more pleased with how it's all worked out. It began as a relief to find a competent shop where others had failed in the technical aspect of diesel diagnosing, but evolved into more of a one stop place where I appreciate having a relationship. Why go to a separate muffler shop, repair facility, rear axle rebuilder, or diesel diag tech when I could go see a couple of familiar faces in a single location. John and his right hand Kenny are both the kind of genuine fellas I'd invite to a backyard cookout. They remember my name along with my various vehicles and in an increasingly less personal AI age, I guess I really appreciate the positive personal interaction. Good people doing good work at good prices, highly recommend.

They went above and beyond to fix my truck I had my truck at 2 different shops for a wiring problem for over 8 months and they couldn’t find the issue but Sunnyside Automotive had no issues digging in and getting it fixed and it only took them a few days…. Definitely my go to shop now and will refer them to all my customers.
Very knowledgeable and professional diesel shop (they also seem great for gas jobs). My duramax lb7 is running great now. Highly recommended. I normally do all my own automotive work except machine shop jobs but I would trust John and his guys for anything on my truck big or small.
My 1990 Accord wasn't passing DEQ due to a leak in the piping. I called and John replaced the pipe and muffler within an hour and at a very reasonable price. His service was friendly, frank, and I passed DEQ just 45 minutes after. I was very surprised that everything happened so quickly. Thanks, John!
Absolutely amazing work, fast, and very nice employees. Came in needing my brake lights fixed had gone to auto zone and Les Schwab both places couldn’t put them in. Came here, they took my car to the back and it was done within 15 minutes. 100% recommend coming here.
Everytime someone bounces off me because they can’t drive, John and the crew have been there., from minor bumps to full on Total Loss, they have you covered. Please stay away. the guys at this shop are always hanging out drinking in the lobby. I took two cars there and both broke down one a week later and most recently I took my Bmw in for a water pump Couple hrs later they called me that is fixed. the car broke down on the way home. i have taken my Bmw to a different shop and they told me that they did not do any work on it. they just charged me for nothing.
Honest, helpful, efficient. Shop mechanics investigate the problem, then call with options for repair. They don't automatically push the most expensive fix; but try to provide the most practical and reasonable repairs. We trust and appreciate this business.
Went in to get checked before a long trip. They held my car for a week longer than expected, which caused me to miss part of my trip. They held the car insisting on large part replacements (axles, sensors, etc.) and quoted me well over $2,000 for the repairs. I balked and went to get a 2nd opinion. Before retrieving my car I was told it was dangerous and if I didn't get the repairs I should sell the car. I was called irrational for expressing frustration and confusion at the situation.
2nd place fixed me up for $650 in half the time.

My car wound up with some old terminal connections that were preventing adequate battery charge. It died while I was running errands, but once we got it running we took it straight to Sunnyside Automotive. No appointment, just a short phone call ahead, and they saw me right away. Not only was it a visit of less than 30min, but they helped us TREMENDOUSLY by providing it complimentary! Let me tell ya, that silver lining today was greatly needed, because your car dying right before payday is NOT a good feeling 🤣. I will absolutely return next time I have need, because I know they aren't just there to wring as much out of me as most other places would. It means a lot finally getting auto service from someone focused more on the customers than the paperwork.
We went in after my wife's care died. We were told by the tow truck operator that the terminals on the battery were too loose and needed replacing. We expected it to take a couple hours and cost a couple hundred at best. 20 mins go by and we get told it's all taken care of and there's no charge! THANK YOU SUNNYSIDE AUTOMOTIVE!! FANTASTIC SERVICE!!
My kid's Mom's car was feeling like it was going to stall while driving, it seemed like it wasn't getting gas. I forgot the name of the guy that helped me but here is what he did for me. He test drove my car and said it might be the catalytic converter, a $1,500 repair. But instead of scheduling a time to fix it, he said try adding fuel cleaner, he explained how to do it. He never charged me for the diagnosis. The cleaner didn't work, so I took it in to get fixed. I was scrounging for money to pay for it. In the end he fixed her car, it ended up just needing a complete tune up because it turns out it was misfiring. So we got lucky and only ended up paying $550, it was $650 at first but I asked for a discount and he was cool about it and knocked a hundred off. This place may look rundown but the mechanic knows what he is doing.
I went to get a muffler replaced, they inspected my entire exhaust system and found a leak on the exhaust manifold and said changing the muffler wouldn't make any difference. I appreciate the extra work and diagnosis, but that didn't fix the hole I knew was in the muffler.
They are very good at what they do. They did a full diagnostic on my husbands truck and told him what they found. He told them what he wanted fixed and they are ordering the parts. They are reasonably priced
These guys... Won't go anywhere else. Took good care of me and managed to get my truck fixed even though the part didn't seem to exist anywhere. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Whole team was really on the ball about things.
Highly pleased with my visit! I desperately needed the exhaust fixed on my old Chevy truck quickly and cheap. On a short notice, Josh was able to get me in right away, and was also able to match my budget with quality work. I'm very grateful for this, and I will definitely be coming back for further exhaust work in the future.

Ive gone to Sunnyside Auto for a few years now. I have always been impressed with the quality work that they do. John has always fixed the issues I have had with my vehicles and usually has it fixed that very day. His prices are also very reasonable.
What I love most about this shop is you can bring your car anytime they're open, unlike other shops that needs to wait a long line or get an appointment. John, the owner, knows how to run business. I visited them on Monday morning around 8:50. I knew they open at 9 but didn't expect it to get it done on the same day. Just wanted to get a quote and see what options I have. John was helpful, offered me Magnaflow muffler with installation for just $100. Semi synthetic oil change was only $35 and materials for the muffler work was extra $10. I was very impressed with the work and especially that deep bassy noise which I got a lot of compliments already. John knocked off $5 and after paying $140 for a Magnaflow and oil change I was on my way. I have no doubt he will be able to work on my car mechanically as well and will carry out a top notch service at very competitive price. The environment was clean and quiet.

I brought in my car with ignition issues and it was fixed very fast (2 days) direct honest and wonderful to work with. Forgot to ask/mention pricing before approving work to be done but that's a rookie move on my part. John is wonderful! :o)
