I needed custom battery cables made for my work vehicle. I spoke with Mitch and explained the issue I was having. Even though they were booked out for the day, ABE was able to get me in and made/installed the cables I needed to start my work van and now I can work tomorrow. I appreciate the professional job they did and highly recommend you consider using their services.

November 25, 2025 Auto Battery and Electric Fast and outstanding service from this shop. When my trusted automotive mechanic was unable to find a replacement alternator for my 1992 F-350, I went to a specialist: Auto Battery and Electric, in Clackamas. They had a new, not remanufactured, exact match on the shelf, and installed it the next business day. ABE replaced the failed alternator which was a remanufactured Motorcraft OEM unit installed 11 years ago by the trusted mechanic. I definitely got my use out of the old alternator! I kept the failed OEM alternator and will have it rebuilt by ABE sometime in the future since they offer that service for people who want factory original parts. Glad to report this was an example of fast, quality work done while I waited by a conscientious shop. Thank you Ken, and the ABE team!

Easy 5-star rating for this team. When you want deep knowledge and repair skill, make your way to ABE. Auto parts store and the Mercedes dealerships all needed to order an alternator from another part of the country for eye watering cost. ABE saved me almost 2wks of time and close to $800 by rebuilding the alternator in my Mercedes - took them just 48hrs to rebuild so I could reinstall. Impeccable work. I’m very happy w/ the results.

I never do reviews, but ABE in Clackamas deserves one. Highly recommend them! They've already done multiple diagnosis and fixes on the 1981 Toyota Pickup I drive. Mitch who seems to manage the place, does a great job. Always busy yet never fails to give good customer service. Definitely a very knowledgeable guy, ask the right questions to get more insight on the problem and THOROGHLY explains things in an honest polite way. All and all upfront and straight forward, no bull crap trying to charge you for more than what's needed. Lots of places nowadays don't hold the integrity and reliability ABE Clackamas seem to. Major thanks for the efficiency each time getting me in and out. My go to place from now on.

I got a battery for my Ford Escape from them 2.5 years ago. It's been through two winters and it's still working well. It was priced more affordable than other places. I remember the service was great, they replaced the battery for a little extra, and they had a super friendly dog that I played fetch with while waiting. Nice experience. Will be back.

The battery in my vehicle died a couple of months after moving to Portland. A co-worker suggested I buy my battery from here. ABE Auto Battery & Electric was the best referral from someone in Portland, Oregon. I can’t say enough good things about ABE Auto Battery & Electric. As a woman I felt respected and treated fairly. My car was fixed quickly. I walked across to the Starbucks and waited. It was nice. Mitch is very knowledgeable about his craft and it shows.

Had some problems with my travel trailer and brought it in here. First time but I had heard this was the place. They fixed what I knew was a problem, then found my truck wasn't supplying power to the trailer when hooked up. No wonder the batteries drained so fast that first night boondocking. Well that took some time but in the end, the price was much less than I expected & put back together much nicer than I had done. These guys are great and fair priced. 5 stars!!

Two of our cars recently have needed battery replacements (when it rains, it pours), so after calling around a few places for quotes, and even visiting my previous battery supplier to inquire about how much value was left from the pro-rated warranty, I decided to try out ABE. Their competitive prices stood out from the pack. Mitch at the front counter was courteous and knowledgeable. For both last month’s and my recent visit, I was able to get the batteries replaced and back on the road in quick order. This will be my new battery go-to place.

I dislike leaving bad reviews, and tend to just forgive and forget, but this place was terrible to deal with. Mitch said he would get to my girlfriends car either by the end of the day or the next day. This was fine for our schedule and five frustrating days later he got back to me and told us what was wrong with it and that it would be ready in a day or two. Had they kept their word we would not have had to play musical cars and figure out how both of us were going to get to work for the week. If it was going to take a week we would have gotten a rental. Mitch also had a pissy attitude whenever I called and asked about the car ( once every day or two). To top it all off they had a billing issue and harassed me about it even though it wasn’t my car and I’m not the one who paid for it. They got the total wrong and asked for more money after they figured out their issue. To be fair they had to work with a warranty company and mistakes happen but it was the way it was dealt with that was abhor. I’ve no idea how they treat customers like this but hell they repaired the car so I’ll give them two stars. Never again though.

Was referred here by Six Robblees. I had a problem with the trailer brake wiring on my truck or travel trailer. They sorted it out in under an hour. Was cool looking around in their office, all kinds of batteries, starters, alternators. Glad I found this place. I'm not an electrician.

I called and was quoted 1 price for battery, when I arrived the price had gone up. The battery was used , so I was told. The guy at the counter was helpful..he told me the battery was all charged up and ready to go. Put it in the jeep and it ran one time without needing a jump. Brought the battery in to return it. He tested it and same guy told me it had a dead cell...once I advised him that I already bought one he refused to take it back. He stated that the numbers didnt match and that it was an old battery . Which was not true. He refused to call his manager and litterly "shooed" me out of the store. I'm still waiting on manager to refund me. I will not be a return customer.

I took my 2005 chevrolet avalanche in with electrical system failure and 2nd day still not even diagnosed. This is my lifeline to work and a paycheck and have yet to hear back from them on what the issue is. They're either understaffed bad or youre not a priority. Well after waiting for a day and a half and having to chase down answers and missing 2 days of work. Shop will have it fixed 2 days later. Not very good customer service in my book. So leaving at 2 stars for fairness of price.

My experience here is beyond good. Not only do they solve your problem (my dozer's 24 volt positive ground starter motor was suspect), by the time you leave, these guys make you feel good about life again. As for the new motor they supplied, it's impressive. That crawler's engine has never before turned like it did -- starts up faster than my Subaru Outback.

Repeat customer! I've been to ABE a couple of times. Great customer service. They will call you, if you come in and the product is out of stock, and let you know if the daily delivery has your product on that truck. They did that for me, which made for quick customer service! The prices of their batteries can't be matched. They have the best prices, IMO! I highly recommend them.

1st visit was great; 2nd not so much. Brought my alternator here to be rebuilt. Mike was great and provided good advice. A few days later I picked up my alternator and re-installed it. First drive was fine but second drive showed signs of charging issues again. Stopped by the shop and they quickly diagnosed a bad diode. Pulled alternator later that day and dropped it off. That was a Monday - On Friday I called to check status and they had disassembled but hadn't had a chance to put it back together. That was a month ago. I've heard nothing since.

Had a dead battery which they swapped out for me in only a few minutes. They were swamped but recognized a damsel in distress and fit me in. Price was amazing- a fourth of what I was quoted by the Hyundai dealership. Thank you, Mike and techs!

These guys are the best for auto electric repair. This is the second time I have used their services. Customer service is very good and service is timely and well done. The price quoted was fair an there was not sales pressure to do things that didn't need to be done. Most refreshing. I will continue to go there when I have auto electric problems.

They are very busy, but always willing to help, these guys have saved me a ton of money, from rebuilding alternators, starters, to making sure solenoids aren't the actual problem, these guys have been in business for a long time and will continue to be! Great service, courteous and extremely knowledgeable staff, best of all low prices on quality parts. Got an alternator for my Crown Vic Police Interceptor that ABE rebuilt themselves for $25 less than Autozone wanted for their cheapest rebuild from who knows where. When my starter went out they checked my entire electrical system for $12.50 to make sure I wasn't wasting money on something I didn't need. I was quoted between $400-500 other places for a rebuilt starter installed but ABE did it for under $200 AND they put in a brand new one and didn't even charge me extra for it! ABE also stands for A Better Experience.

I took my car to have the battery tested. They got me in immediately and told me my battery was bad and told me they could fix it right then and save all my memory. Mike was very informative and answered all my questions. He gave me options on different prices. The new battery was replaced and I was out the door in less than 5 mins.
