Feels worlds apart from MetroNorth's station in White Plains, which is urbanly hectic. This station is more countrified and civilized, though service does not run express to this station under normal conditions.
The station generally is clean and well maintained. Except in the summer there are so many lantern flies flying and hopping around on the platform, it’s very perturbing and the staffs seem to not doing anything about it..
Clean and well maintained train station. A lot of folks confuse it with White Plains which is a stop away. Make sure that you know this station is NORTH White Plains. The staff working at the station is always super helpful and nice if you ask a question or need help with anything. And the best part - it’s just a quick commute to the heart of Manhattan.
Station is well maintained with lots of paid parking, currently some of the arrival displays are not functioning and the platforms are under construction, which throws off some of the arriving trains.
When you don't have your own transportation, these guys are amazing. Been taking the train for over 20 years and my 5 year old loves them to. He even wants to drive one when he's old enough... To cute ???
I really LOVE taking the MNR upstate, more than taking the bus! Comfortable, roomy seats; mostly, friendly staff. If you enjoy BEAUTIFUL SCENERY,,,sit on the LEFT SIDE of the train (facing forward) when leaving GCS!!
