A 30min job on my truck took 4hrs.. meanwhile all parts for a trailer hitch already came assembled including a wire harness that just needed to be plugged in. Customer service sucks due to not having anywhere to sit inside telling me I can’t stay, I’d have to “go find somewhere to wait.” Would not recommend their services.

The entire process was very easy. The rep at the location was super friendly and helpful. The return process was also simplified using the U-Haul app.

Horrible service estimate was off and made me believe they were a good choice it went from $270 at pick up to over $400 at drop off I was told some charges were getting refunded and never happened. Never using them again

Monai, was very patient with helping us fill out the online app that gave us issue! Her supervisor was also very helpful as he quickly assisted us! Very cheap prices for uhaul boxes and tape! Thank you Uhaul WP Team!

BEWARE! I was charge extra $100 labor charge difference from the online reservation even before the work began. White Plains office rep said they charge by the hour and that the online system explained that. It did not. Rep then explained the email confirmation from the online reservation explained that. It did not. The only place I saw it posted was in the office but, by that time, I was already committed to getting my hitch installed after waiting two weeks and driving an hour to the install site. U-Haul website chat was even less helpful. Aaaaaaannd, one of the labor charges was $150 to 'quick' connect their trailer wiring harness to my prewired vehicle. $150 to remove a plastic panel in my trunk. Update - they just refunded me the difference, yay!

I ordered a u-haul van from their website (no deposit required) on Sunday for Tuesday. We got there by 9 and we were on the road before 9:12. The woman at the counter was helpful and got us in and out. What took the longest is you have to take pictures of the vehicle you are going to use and also due to the crazy world we live in they required the person renting the vehicle to list another responsible party in case they want to run off with the u-haul vehicle. It didnt take any extra time at all. Our vehicle was very clean, smelled good (not over baring) and was equipped with Bluetooth which was a big help since we needed to use the GPS for most of our trip. Since we got back before they closed we were able to pull into the drop off area leave the keys in the ignition and be on our way... FYI... download the app first and the process will be faster.

The staff was incredibly rude with the exception of one older gentleman. The uhauls were also pretty dirty on the inside, the steering wheel was sticky and the seats were gross.

Very impressed with the process and the team that helped us when we picked up the truck everything was so smooth and easy and we were also very impressed with being able to drop the truck off at any time on our own terms within our rental period! Great process and great staff!

Desk staff was on top of everything with how busy it was on a Saturday morning. Truck was clean and ready. Recommend downloading the app before arriving to make pickup go smoother. Glad my reservation pickup was changed to here instead of the “do it yourself” location in Hastings

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! U-Haul switched us to a larger truck on a one way rental. Then receiving location refused us returning truck because too large. After 4 different service reps, they are refusing to compensate for extra gas and tolls and INCONVENIENCE! Will never rent from them again!!!

My experience was horrible. I was overcharged for fuel even though I filled up the tank exactly where it was when I rented the truck. I reached out to U-haul, spoke with someone and was told her manager will get back to me but, never did. The self-check in experience was also ineffective due to the app not working properly.

The customer service gave very misleading information and so did the website. It tells you one set price on the website but when you go to the store they're completely different prices. Then they had all these add on fees. So for example if you go online, it says you owe $70 but once you reserve and go in price goes up to $300. Then on top of that we were told the wrong time which resulted to us having to pay to a late fee which is $45. Even though we explained to the female clerk that we’re were coming back from out of state, so she pushed for a an extra hour. And she’ll be here when we get back so she can help us.But then when we got there we were she ran to the back and somebody else check us out instead. Then if you don't have access to their promotion. They charge you $1.19 per mile. And I understand if I must have over looked something but this is information I being told to my face. So if you going to use them make sure to carry extra money!

No complaints, and I'm high maintenance! With the exception of the older gentleman (manager?) who is professional, more interested in "going the book" the courteous part get lost in translation with his delivery. Also with him, he likes to micromanage asking questions already handled, thus unproductively behind the ball and making the process annoyingly tedious and more time consuming than it has to be for the customer. I wanted to say to the older one please, he's got it. Can you stop interrupting us so we can finish the transaction"? All the younger workers are not only professional, they are absolutely lovely, and make good executive decisions, flexible to the circumstances, always going above and beyond to accommodate Sometimes it's not always about "going by the book's . Noot very good - EXCELLENT location and the young workers make it so ( there is only one older one.

I was offered an opportunity to collect equipment at the last moment. I did not have a prior reservation for a box truck. I was still able to rent a box truck. You are always my 1st choice and this is why. The service behind the counter and the vehicles offered to rent, they are always grade A!

Everything was good only thing I didn’t like was the truck being 1/4 tank of fuel. I rented another one a month ago and it was the same. They should have more fuel so we can refill on the way back not trying to guess how much would I use and probably having to put some more gas like today and I could so some miles without having to put gas as soon as I leave the U-Haul place

Came for a trailer to move a piece of equipment, but I’ve also used for Home Depot runs,and other moving tasks. So happy to have a trailer hitch on my model Y! Great, friendly and helpful local team. Really nice people dealing with some unreasonable people at times. The team is great, always helpful getting the trailer safely attached and friendly. I’m so happy this place is close.

The truck was filthy! The console was disgusting! I told the woman and she said she would spray it down. I told her forget it because it should have been given to me clean. It needed some soap and water and elbow grease. Sad sad sad!

Beware of their excessive fuel charges as they tend to overbill you for gas usage that you didn’t use. Utilize the vehicle for 30 miles and got billed for 6 gallons of gas. Manager was no help even though they knew that it was inaccurate and just asked you for photos. They provided none of their own.

Had such a pleasant experience! Rented a 4x7 utility trailer and had some wiring/ electrical flaw hooking up the trailer lights to the car. Annie came in so helpful and immediately helped us figure it out. Thank you for extending the helping hand! U-Haul is lucky to have you.

Wow, I have to say the staff at the rental agency was simply amazing! From the moment I arrived to pick up my rental, Lucy was lightning-fast and incredibly helpful. And when I returned to drop off my rental, Leo was there to greet me with a smile and help me with the check-in process. Even when I had a little gas-related issue, both Leo and Anny were super-patient and answered all my questions with ease. I'm so impressed with their service that I can't wait to go back and rent from them again!

Monai, Jose, and Oliver were great! My wire wasn't working and they helped me figured it out and i was on my way promptly. They are the best! Check in was also a smooth process. Anny had me on my way in no time!! The equipment was also clean and in good condition. 100 percent recommend this location!! Thanks

I've been to many U-haul locations. And this one by far is the best 1 great customer service. There's a guy at the counter name Enrique wonderful attitude, high spirit. He made it so easy for me to get my truck fast. Because I was in a hurry. He made the whole transaction smooth and fast I was in and out

Horrendous experience! There was no acknowledging or welcoming when I entered the building and approached the counter. I initially attributed that to the person at the counter being busy and didn't think anything of it initially. I was eventually asked how can I help you. When I stated I had a reservation and was there to pick up a truck the attendant pointed to a banner with a QR code and told me to scan it and check in. She then continued to get back to whatever it was she was doing. I was never made aware of that process prior to my arrival nor was there a person on site that could have explained what the check in process would be. It would have been nice to have the option of a person checking me in even if it meant I'd have to wait a little longer. I had issues logging in via my phone and expressed that with the attendant and she appeared annoyed. I didn't receive assistance until a young man came in from the lot about 5 minutes later and tried to help. I have an Android phone and thought maybe that was the issue but then I noticed I had a poor signal and attributed the very slow interface to that. The next part of my disappointment was the mobile check in required me to list an alternative person that would be contacted immediately once I entered their information. I have rented cars and trucks and have never had this requirement. I had a valid driver's license and a credit card and was shocked this was needed. When I asked if I could opt out or check in another way I was told no. While I was going through this painful process I overheard a mother/daughter pair who were also not pleased. The daughter said, "I now understand why people hire movers". Hearing that confirmed I was not alone. I finally get through the process and get the keys to the van I had reserved. Again I have to overcome hurdles because I didn't realize that I must also check out via the mobile application so I was thankful I didn't close the browser because at this point there were several others customers and I knew the person at the counter wasn't going to be very helpful. When I looked at the van I noticed several things that were concerning. There were visible large dents and as I approached the rear there was a broken tail light and the driver's side rear clearly had been in some sort of minor accident. When I asked if I could get another vehicle I was told, no! I deemed the vehicle drivable and safe only because I knew I wouldn't be driving at night. Last point, I had the vehicle for 24 hours. Upon returning it the next day the same young lady was working the counter. She had a colleague on speaker phone who apparently had called in sick and she was sharing with him (very proudly I will add) that a customer came in earlier and got so frustrated with her and the process that he threw his driver's license at her. She told her colleague on the phone that she took pleasure in denying him any rental. I don't condone that behavior at all but between the mother/daughter comment I overheard the previous day along with my personal experience I think this location is a major problem. Maybe it is poor training, maybe renting from U-Haul is just an overall bad experience wherever the location. I'd be real concerned here because U-Haul is putting their employees at this location in harm's way because it is an extremely frustrating process. It took me almost an HOUR to retrieve a van that I had a reservation for! THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! If ever I have the need for a truck I won't be doing it at this location and likely not U-Haul. #bebetter

Lucy was incredible to say the least. She went entirely out of her way to walk me through the facility and show me the different units before I chose one. On a busy Saturday the staff was nice and attentive to every customer. U-Haul has come a long way over the years. Overall great experience at this location.

This review is NOT about the staff, the facilities or the truck itself. Apparently within the last few months, U-Haul has decided that every reservation at this location must be done via app and a chat feature even when you're physically standing at the desk. The poor kids at reception have to just stand their helplessly while we waited 10 minutes for just for someone on the online chat feature to respond. The whole process took about 40 minutes despite us having a reservation. It was bizarre and deeply unpleasant. I even understood the impulse to lose my cool on the two kids behind the desk even though it's clear they had NOTHING to do with this and would change it in a moment if they could. If they're unfriendly it's because they're very young and obviously get berated all day by clients just as confused and upset as I was. Next time I'll just hit up a Craigslist rando with a van.

In U-Haul White Plains worker ( mechanic) installed hitch in my car . When I arrived at the house I saw exhaust pipe hanged low, not attached to the car. Brackets to pipe hanged down. I think its really dangerous during driving. After 3 days I went back to ask him to fix that but the man was very rude and use bungee rope to "secure" exhaust pipe. Besides he said that it's not his problem and my car is garbage. He told me he is going to call his boss. He made a pictures of my hitch when he was talking with somebody thru the phone. Finally he told me claim is already made, but I have to call insurance company tomorrow morning. At home, I checked the number what he gave me and its random number to chemical company.... It's not a joke. Its ridiculous, unprofessional and the worst experience what I ever had with mechanic. I don't recommend this location .
