What clients say about O'Reilly Auto Parts in White Plains (NY)

Honest, reliable help and service. Get with Lucky he'll get you right with what you need!

The staff at O'Reilly Auto Parts are generally helpful and knowledgeable, which is a big plus. However, I've found that their inventory can be hit or miss, and sometimes I leave empty-handed despite needing a specific part. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in a pinch, but it might require a bit more patience.

Much better customer service compared to neighboring auto parts stores, even if they don't have exactly what you're looking for the staff there is quick to find solutions that benefit you. Also, their parts selection is superior to their competitors in terms of quality, warranty service, and value. ??

As my son and I were leaving the chipotle in the same shopping area, my car started to jerk and then it slowly shut off. I managed to get my car turned back on a few times because it kept shutting off and I pulled right in front of the GNC store two doors down from O’Reilly’s auto parts on Tarrytown Road in the crossroads shopping plaza White Plains the gentleman who answered the phone acted like he barely wanted to help so I asked if he can assist me with a diagnostic he said we can check car batteries we can run a diagnostic test on your car to see what’s the problem. I asked him How much did that cost? He said nothing. He then told me to put my hazards on so he can check the car. I told him I was pulled right in the fire lane in the front of the stores even as I was trying to explain to him there is another car with their hazards on behind me and that my car has its hazards on and it’s white. He quickly rushed to get off the phone, hung the phone up, and I saw him out my rearview mirror walking to the car. I got out the car to greet him. He had no expression on his face. He was about as dry and cold as the weather he’s asking me do I have gas? I said I have 3/4 of a tank of gas. I just got some yesterday. He asked me when was the last time I had my oil changed. I said about a month ago he says do you know if you have oil in the car I literally said I have oil in the car. I just got it changed a month ago. He then asked me. Are you sure you have oil in the car? I touched the sticker where it red I have 2000 miles left to go Until I need my next oil change. He just stared at me, rolled his eyes and said pop the hood, I popped the hood. My son is sitting in the front seat with dinner in his hand. I’m out the car at this point because of his lack of wanting to help because it’s cold outside or whatever the reason is he says how do you open your hood? I opened my hood. And he kept taking the dipstick in and out of the oil, proceeded to tell me that my oil was slightly below the line and that it could be that I don’t have enough oil. I told him this has never happened before he said well. The oil on the stick could be the residual oil from me, pulling the stick in and out of the oil deposit. He just stared at me. He was asking me very dry. I don’t want to be bothered questions so my response to him was you seem like you don’t even want to help me I said you’re talking to me like I have no clue of what I’m doing when initially all I wanted was for him to run a diagnostic on my car he just kept asking me the same dumb question are you sure this has never happened before you never smelled anything, he then proceeded to say well I’ve only answering with what questions you’re giving me with what information you’re giving me. You’re not really giving me much of anything. I tap the glass and told my son give me the car. I mean the phone I said to the guy I said you know what you’re not a help I’m just gonna end up calling my dad I called my father and as my father answers the phone the man is still standing in the front of me. I said to him I don’t need your help anymore. I said, cause you’re not helping me at all and you act like you don’t want to this grown man, put his hands in his pocket and stopped off like a toddler Walked back of the store and acted as if I was not even there. He never even said let me run the diagnostic just to make sure he was acting very ignorant.

I wanted to give the new store a shot even though there are several other options nearby. I was looking for a gas cap and mirror for my truck, simple enough. I went several days because they kept giving me the wrong parts and I had to make three returns. On the last return, the manager gave me a credit for the item but refused to give me a credit for the shipping costs. I was never advised by the clerk that the item was being shipped. I thought the part was coming from an O’Reilly AutoParts warehouse somewhere. I definitely was not told by the clerk that shipping costs would not be refunded if the part was wrong. It was also their fault for ordering the wrong parts after researching on the computer with the VIN of my truck. They were not transparent about the shipping refund policy as I was never advised when I placed the order. The staff there was incompetent and lacked basic communication skills required for a service type job but the worst was the manager by far. The manager was very unprofessional and rude. He, the manager, attempted to repeatedly antagonize and provoke me. The staff had their names visible for customers to see except for the manager. When I asked for his name, he became aggressive and told me to leave the store. I told him I would leave after he gave me his name but he refused. He then walked to me in a threatening manner, physically violated my space by brushing up against me. When I began to record the incident he attempted to grab my cell phone. The manager, who in theory represents the company was very unprofessional to say the least. The manager unnecessarily called the police because he claimed I was causing a disturbance even though I did not yell at all, plus there were no other customers in the store. All I wanted was a full refund and the manager’s name. The police came spoke with both sides and then he refunded my shipping costs. I have had positive experiences in other O’Reilly’s stores but this experience was terrible and extremely disappointing. I hope there is a working camera in the store and corporate can investigate this incident.

We were traveling from out of state and needed a new battery. I stopped in on a Sunday at lunch time and said I wanted to buy a battery and asked if he could install it. He wanted to look at it and said I would need a mechanic because it would take too long. No other customers in the store and I saw another employee working. Mavis Tire down the street took care of me and was much more friendly and helpful.
