I have shopped at the Bville store for 50 years. First when it was P&C and then Tops. Most of the employees could care less about you. You used to be able to go to the store and receive a friendly hello as you were doing your shopping. You always new who the manager was because he was always moving about the store and interacting with customers and employees. The last few that have been there have been the rudest people I have ever seen in there. I have always made it a point to say hello to any of the workers throughout the store over the years and have always received a greeting back. Not anymore you are looked at like you said something wrong. There are about 4 longtime employees that keep me patronizing that store. Shelves are being stocked during shopping hours now. Isles are totally blocked off many times. If you ask one of them if they could reach something for you, I've been told to go around. Many times we shoppers just step in and help each other because we are tired of getting the bad attitude. I love having a new employee cash me out because they are still friendly and haven't got the bad attitude yet. They act happy to be there, at least for a little while. I spend around 300.00 every week at that store. I also shop for 3 other people and spend 2-300.00 for them. I would think employees would understand that they wouldn't have a job if they didn't have customers but we are just looked at like an irritation to their day. I am gradually transitioning to buy all my groceries from Aldi's and Wegmans.
Customer service matters!! Had a lovely chat while being cashed out. It's not hard to just be pleasant with folks you don't know in this line of work ?
The level of incompetence is insane made the mistake of paying with cash and no one could help reverse the payment so I could put it on a card. when the idea of a return was brought up they said they wouldn't give me cash back you guys are the worst and I'm done with the mediocre service better off spending the money at Wegmans
9:15 pm - overcharged for item, told to come back the next day for a refund of overcharged amount. The last of 3 managers I approached insulted me as if it was my fault. 2nd manager said he didn’t know how to make a refund… what?
Overpriced food and fake deals to make you feel like it's a deal when it's not. Worst of all the employees are unprofessional and disrespectful. This place needs new management/leaders. Go to Walmart and buy great value instead. Do not give this place your business!!!
Tops likes to say they are cheap and inexpensive but I often find myself spending less at other supermarkets sometimes even Wegmans. Recently I went to tops and eggs were like $8/9 average. They had a sign up that said it was because of inflation but after going to other places in the area, price chopper, aldi, and even Byrne Dairy you could easily get eggs for much less in some cases a little under 5 bucks. TOPS is taking advantage of people using inflation as an excuse to over charge for some of their products and it’s sickening.
First of all, the store is dirty. Secondly, they don't have enough carts and seem almost miffed when you tell them.
I find their customer service is questionable at best. They lack any type of responsiveness. What a difference between the tops in Baldwinsville versus Fayetteville.
Just recently moved into the neighborhood so this is the closest mkt. besides Aldi's. Good selection of foods but overpriced across the board. Probably won't be back unless it's an urgent need.
Typical tops grocery store... Typically the lines to check out at the registers are not long at all they do have self checkouts to use..... a wide variety of products throughout the entire store from grocery to meet department dairy deli and such.....
Have shopped there for yrs. Love the store. Stopped at 1030 last night after long day flying home from Edmonton and driving from Toronto. Pick up some things after being gone 10days. Only self check which is nonsense to begin with, but the young girl w short dark hair and still masked 3+ yrs post covid(oy vey) stood 6 ft in front guarding self check out while I tried for 7 or 8 min to find 3 produce items on their photos. I was only person in store. She watched me toss one bag after another to the side not being able to find them. Never said a word. She always seems to be unpleasant with an attitude but just makes you never want to return. Where's Jerry when you need her.
Absolutely love shopping here??? the atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Plus you get gas points that add up and you get a discount on your gas??? the more points you accumulate the bigger the discount and that's pretty awesome☺️☺️☺️ Because all you have to do is your every day shopping and they reward you will discounted gas prices, so it's a win win in my book???
Can we all agree it’s absolutely ridiculous for the blonde lady up front to sticker every item not in a bag? ESPECIALLY when it’s open food like chicken from the deli section. I have been going to this Tops for as long as I can remember and never had any issues until this lady started touching all my food during COVID! There are multiple cameras in the store and you get a receipt from self checkout weather you want one or not. Want to check my receipt? Fine go for it; I paid for my stuff, but TOUCHING my food and other items is completely unnecessary and UNSANITARY!!! How do I know she’s washed her hands recently? How do I know she wasn’t sick? I have never had this issue with any other associate, they are all respectful of our personal space but this lady goes out of her way any time she sees me or my partner in the store. I will not be coming back to this Tops.

They must have refrigeration problems. 9 x out of 10 the creamer/milk or yogurt I buy is curdled or has an off taste. Moldy fruit. Many other items are usually near the expiration date.
In the past, I have avoided this store. HOWEVER, they have recently completed a major makeover. The results of which have not only improved the overall look of the store, but for a change it is staffed by people who make sure the checkouts are staffed. Also, the fruits and vegetables are well stocked. So are the other departments. I definitely intend to shop here more.
One side note, unlike one of Tops competitors, some of their self checkouts take cash. Very happy with the store.
Downer Street Pharmacy: Outstanding service! Tammy and Danielle really go the distance to ensure your satisfaction. They talk to you like you’re their neighbor, not a number. If only other places that receive our monetary funds for services provided were as respectful and professional as those provided by TOPS Pharmacy, the world just might be a better place.
Tops prices are absolutely atrocious i ONLY go there to buy coffee creamer bc it’s closer than Walmart and the prices aren’t much different for that, but honestly we all just collectively need to stop shopping here until they lower their prices. They have always been significantly more expensive than Walmart or ALDI literally convience store prices I could probably go to Byrne dairy and find stuff cheaper to be honest. I hate tops so much also it always smells like rotten fish

Did some shopping earlier today and had a very pleasant experience with Collin in the deli. He was very nice, helpful and polite. It was nice dealing with a young man with such a wonderful work ethic.
Couple months ago, I did a two star rating for this store. My story I posted was done at the wrong time and I gave a review when I was mad. My rule is don't review something that happened 2 seconds ago. Good or bad.
This place is still my hometown store. They are a struggling supermarket, battling stiff competition, but they are still fighting.
I love the employees. I do, I just think the staff is well maintained. During the day, you got your grinders. The ones who show up everyday and just kill their responsibilities. They do a remarkable job, and it's starting to show up more and more as the store improves daily. Nighttime brings in the younger staff. Bright, young kids who just wanna make that money. Positive attitudes, and they really do want to help customers. Another reason the store gets my new review.
They are showing improvement, and I tip my cap. Prices are still too high. Nobody wants to buy 10 packets of taco seasoning for 10 bucks. That whole 10 for 10 needs to go.
Not much to love about this grocery store. The prices seem to be the highest in the area, and the selection is not great. They don't carry a lot of brands that you can find at other stores of this size, and the stock on the shelves for popular items always seems empty unless you go there on the day they 'get a truck in'.
It's also EXTREMELY annoying they lock the door where the carts are after 9 or 10pm. I get it, they do it for security reasons, but how about just having more surveillance on that side of the store, or an extra employee with their eyes open?
I cannot verify this, but it seems like they raise the prices on items before a 'sale' to make you think you are getting a good deal, when really you are not. For example the recent "buy two, get four free!" sale they had on Schweppes's seltzer water - the sale price was $7.29 each, but if you go to a place like target or walmart, they sell these for only $3 each regular price. So really, you are not saving any money at all.
Wanted to love it here as it’s a lot nicer than a lot of Tops markets and much bigger and i was loving it until my boyfriend and I went through self checkout, did two separate transactions but used the same reusable bag. Got accused of stealing and after showing our receipts, no apology was given, just more attitude as if we were in the wrong. As someone who has worked in customer service I try not to let things like that get to me as we all have bad days but being accused of not paying for our items is humiliating, especially for two people who did pay.
This store is our "go to" as close to our neighborhood. They have revamped the store and have many specialty items with good prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially cashier Kathy. They take time to tell or show you where items are and have good sale specials. The store is clean and well stocked.
Have had many issues with my families insurance for years (who hasn't), but the staff here is very helpful ,upbeat,and always ready to lend a hand anyway they can. Ive had very good service there for years now with every staff member. But i wanted to reach out today and praise an employee who not only took the time to assist me over the phone in the busiest time of the day today, friday. She not only fixed my insurance issues but got my prescription properly filled per my PCP directions. Thanks you so much Meghan!!!!!!! I hope this message reaches you because you and your staff deserve it!!!
The selection at this TOPS is both varied and quality, having choices that even some of the Wegmans around here don't offer. Living close by, I find this location extremely convenient for a quick shopping trip for necessities. The place has always been clean and tidy when I've visited, and rarely full or too busy to comfortably navigate.

Great produce and selection of brand name and "generic" brands of food. Fresh flower department greets you ar the door, next to large , fresh produce of all types including exotic fruits and vegetables. Staff carefully seem to move and freshen products. Organic fruit and vegetables available. Self weighing and UPC scanner printer is great and time saver. Seafood dept is very good and meat butchers are excellent. Bakery is excellent. Deli is excellent offering fresh made pizza , subs, sandwiches etc. Very convenient. Pharmacy onsite also but Ive never used it. ATM onsite, Coinstar, lottery ticket self serve machine and Redbox. Probably more Im missing but can get everything in 1 stop
