this chain always baffled me. it's hit or miss. whar they get right, they do very well. I'm not surprised they didn't last. staff is nice, and any store in NYC that lets customers use their restroom deserves kudos.
I dropped by to buy gluten-free pie crusts, as Key Food and Whole Foods don’t stock them. They’re a bit pricey at $6.89 each, but they have them, along with a lot of other gluten-free grocery items.
Grocery prices look a bit higher here. Self checkout is fast and convenient.
They have a great variety of items. You can pretty much find anything you need. I have to mention Jerome! If you've met him, you know. He is an excellent employee. He goes above and beyond! He will instantly brighten your day. One downside - the store does not have the best layout, the isles are narrow and not easy to navigate.
Overall it's not bad and I visit it quite often. However, I found a pasta which was expired 6 months ago on a shelf, I took them out, and informed one of the employees. She apologized, promised to inform the responsible person and remove them from the store. The next day the expired product was on the shelf again.
