This location only carries groceries and essentials. It doesn’t have clothing or apparel, even though the online photos show clothes and shoes. The setup feels more like a mini Target, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a full store experience.
The employee giles was incredibly helpful towards my target experience, and given this location is my new local target, I will be happily coming back! Thank you so much for everything giles!
The kips bay location the employees are very rude standoffish, and prejudice and they need to learn how to be patient with customers asking for assistance fix the attitude please
I have to admit their produce (especially their oranges and apples) are really fresh and delish. Special shout out and thank you to Delia who was so kind after my bottle of water spilled all over my bag and onto the floor. She cleaned it up “lickety-split” and offered me a dry Target shopping bag which I sincerely appreciated. Kudos to your staff who always go above and beyond the call of duty!
Have been here a few times over the last few months for various reasons. This Target is lacking in many areas of inventory. Need any baby clothes, like at all? Nope. Not even basic plain clothes. Also always have a hard time finding the grocery items I need, even when listed in stock online.
This location also won't honor Target-wide policies. Customer service doesn't even try to help. The "management" that they called on honestly was even less helpful. It was the miserable leading the miserable.
Shop elsewhere. Or get Target delivered from another store. You'll have more options and more courses of remedy if things go wrong.
I bought state fair corn dogs #210020134 on 1/30/25. I got sick from them. It turns out the expiration date is 10/24. This was a newly stocked item apparently neglected for 3+ months. All of them should be taken away since you people will get sick and you are not supposed to sell expired products. The price was $6.49.

This Target needs a new manager. There’s so much chaos — floor plan is designed for traffic jams, stocking shelves looks like an ordeal, and staff running around trying to help very frustrated customers.
Better layout (and more training or staff or both) would help a lot.
This has got to be the worst target I’ve ever been to in my life. The Times Square one (which I’m sure gets more traffic) has way more things in stock than this one. Everytime I go here it’s like it’s been ransacked, they never have anything in stock even something as simple as batteries. Better off going to a cvs
did an online grocery pickup at this Target location. Pickup area is on the street level by the checkout. this Target has two floors grocery and pantry items are on the street level floor. below street level is another floor of merchandise like toys, electronics and more. pickup of my online order was super easy. staff were pleasant and quickly grabbed my order. my order of multiple items were packed in a Target bag. definitely a busier Target in the Kips Bay area but online pickup works well and I would do that again here.

Went to the above store after working long hours. Self Check was the only thing open, asked the Supervisor if a register is open.
Self check is for lazy worker as and my think it’s convenient. My issue is I work and spend money in your establishment, the least I could receive is customer service after all I have to bring my bag, pack my bag and carry my product home. It’s seem I’m providing customer service as the sales person or who is standing around. I’m learning to leave the businesses alone because the service is deplorable even to the corporate office.
I spoke to Cliff the Supervisor for sales he stated “it your option if you shop are target and don’t want to use the self check line.
My response I’ll gladly give AMAZON my business they have better customer service.
Do not buy AirPod from this location. They sell you fake AirPod. My boyfriend brought AirPod from them and was having issues so we took it to Apple and Apple was unable to help because they were “Unable to provide service due to inauthenticity of product.”
When he went back to target saying they sold him a fake AirPod, management was giving him attitude. Very unprofessional of Target management to handle complaints in such manner.
Edit: hours on the door at least 3 months out of date, always out of everything, weird choices with what grocery items to stock (6 shelves of various sandwich bags but only 2 of spices)
Food: selection isn't huge but fairly priced and good quality. Everything else: Makes me wonder why I didn't shop on amazon. If everything's locked up and you have to wait 15 mins to find someone with the key, can't look at the item before buying, and have to wait in line 10 more minutes for the manned checkout... why bother? (The thing i was buying was 20 bucks, not like a grand!)
Also guys like why are you always out of mens ankle socks? If you're out that often, stock more?
The old pharmacist is working by himself, how come he has no staff and no help what so ever. Poor man has been doing rx in the back and not seeing customers on line for prescriptions to be picked up. Is it fair for 1 man to run the pharmacy all alone??
The most poorly managed store imaginable. Tons of employees, none at checkout or stocking shelves. Stocking carts constantly abandoned all over the store making it impossible to shop and shoppers in wheelchairs or with strollers unable to pass.
No Boar's Head pickles in stock but the manager was very very nice and said she would speak to the company about getting them.
Lol, crazy but it's a great pickle. :)

I am puzzled as to why this store is even labeled as a Target. There is a tiny bit of too wide of a variety of things. They should narrow their selection since the space doesn’t allow what even a small Target normally carries. This place is deceivingly tiny, impossible to keep properly stocked (though the nice staff is trying), and there’s nothing a local bodega doesn’t have except maybe a giant box of q-tips. If you want to go to a Target in Manhattan, head to Herald Square.
Great target, we were being stalked by a man wearing a fedora (first red flag). We ran inside and of course he followed us around the store. When we told security though they were amazing help and within minutes there were five security guys circling and handling the situation, asking the man to leave and watching out for when/where he left so we could go the other direction. Thanks target!! This is a photo of what the man looked like (he also had a greasy pony tail, second red flag)
The recent renovations they have done to this store have actually not improved the organization or flow of this store. In fact, it has made it worse. They new layout is not cohesive. Disappointing.
And, you now have to get staff to unlock cabinets to get everything from laundry detergent to lotion. Security is ridiculous.
The target is very tiny with only a select amount of products, but they do a good job of having the best of their limited selection though, like really cute home goods. I was looking for a very popular collectible & on the verge of tears when I saw resellers walking out with armfuls, sure they’d sold out. The employee working around the toys area was super helpful & informed me this item was in the back (it looked like I went as they were still doing out stocking), asked how many I wanted, and quickly brought me one out. Shoutout to her, wish I’d caught her name! Then the self checkout lines were being well ran with efficient communication from the worker when a self check machine became open. I’m used to the big Midwest style targets, even super targets, but this tiny location did a great job of embracing the spirit of a target store with limited space.
Sophia is so amazing, patient and quick with solutions! Today I called to ask about the return of a lock which was literally just picked up by me from this location but has barcode problem when I tried to return it. I was told by the staff in the Times Square Target that I was given a cheaper lock but charged more. I was really upset how this happened when I called. Sophia was so patient and totally took care of it! When I got to Target I had no problem with the lock return. Salute the whole crew! Thank you Sophia!
Small store for your basics and some extras. Unfortunately it appears it needs better security, they are locking everything up from face lotions to toothpaste! In the past two days I’ve seen customers berate the cashiers and security doing nothing for their employees safety. Beware!
Managers and supervisors their staff and customers like nazis and im not being extreme. They are rude assume the worst for all and the store is s.all and empty barely carrying the usual target merchandise. It the only target that won't allow access to fitting rooms and if they get a wrong feeling towards a customer they ask them to leave the store immediately with no reason or compromise, I've seen it happen twice already and I've been in this store 3 times. All three times were miserable. Take my word there are better targets close by.

The entire store ran out of bags and tried to force customers to buy a more expensive reusable bag. The store manager, Mallorie, was very rude and dismissive when we asked for other options. She then walked away as we were talking to her even though we just spent upwards of $200 in the store. I will not be returning to this Target because of her rudeness towards loyal customers.
Although this store definitely needs to have more staff at checkout in the evening I love this location! The managers truly care for their guests. Love the staff especially this young lady named Fatima who is always very patient and polite with me. Keep up the work !
I like this store - especially since there is a school on the opposite corner which means there is always police patrol there.
Store is two floors and packed with a good, basic selection. Has home goods, pharmacy, groceries, clothing, basic pet supplies, etc. Located at the base of Kip Bay towers it’s also convenient.
MAKE SURE TO BRING YPUR OWN BAGS or you will have to buy theirs. Most people use self check out but there’s always an employee there in case you have any issues. It’s usually the same very pleasant young girl.

I'm so delighted that I have now a Target in my neighborhood. It's very small but they do have many household basics at great prices. The entire staff is terrific, always smiling and so helpful. It's a pleasure to shop there.
I am not a regular Target customer, and none of the stores are located close enough for me to shop there. But I have several Target gift cards for over $100 and need to use them. When I discovered that this week (June 16-22) they have Breyers ice cream on sale, I visited two Targets (Harold Square and then Kips Bay) on Friday afternoon, June 21. Neither one had more than 4 containers of Breyers, mostly mint flavor, none had chocolate, the flavor I wanted. I called both stores this morning since they expected a new delivery. Herald Square had 12 containers of chocolate and Kips Bay 5. There was no way I could be at any of the stores fast enough to get hold of them. But unlike the manager at Harold Square who suggested that I take a chance, Kips Bay manager Edward remembered me, a senior lady, from the day before and offered to hold 2 containers for me. I have already picked them up and will be happy to enjoy this treat for quite a while. THANK YOU AGAIN EDWARD! YOU MADE MY DAY!!!
The people who work here are so unprofessional.
- There are big stocking carts everywhere blocking merchandise & no employee doing anything with them
- I wanted to ask a question and two employees just kept on talking to each other & ignoring me
- Was excited to try the new Versed skincare collection but this store does not have it at all
- I bought something and it never made it to my bag so I had to return to this target and see them rummage through gross bins and then eventually I had to go find the product on the shelf again and go to the checkout for the third time.
Yesterday, my friends and I decided to give the new Target by our school a visit. As loyal Target customers, we were excited to see what this one had to offer, but sadly we were met with ignorance. When we were trying to leave, one of the team members specifically targeted us and accused us of stealing in the dental aisle. He didn’t even have proof or reasoning for this, but continued to harass us to empty our pockets SEVERAL times, as if things were going to magically appear. He even threatened to call the police on us, when we showed our receipts for everything we paid for. We did not leave empty handed...we paid for everything in our bags and didn’t attempt to steal anything. As young college students, we don’t even want a lawsuit over something in the “dental aisle” or the rest of the store, so these accusations were disgusting. Imagine being excited to go to one of your favorite stores and then being threatened multiple times for doing the right thing (paying for our goods). Anyways, if you want to be profiled and targeted unfairly, this is the Target store for you. I wouldn’t go back.
