I received help that went beyond anything I've experienced in a brick and mortar store in ages. I went to Staples to buy Epson printer ink. I found the black ink readily. When I asked the person checking my purchase out if they had the ink I was looking for, she informed me that downstairs at Staples at 81st and Broadway was NOT the most complete location in the store for printer ink--that that was on another floor (which I never knew). She asked a co-worker to find out if they had the ink I was looking for on the other floor, and he very kindly did check and came back and told her no, so I came home and ordered it from Staples online. The workers at Staples were very kind and accommodating to go the extra mile to both educate me about the store and help me.

AVOID!!!!! Paid for custom wrapping paper for in-store pickup on December 3rd. Instead it was sent out for completion (with no notice) and now it’s over a week later with no update, tracking (again, for something that was supposed to be printed in store that they decided to send out instead) NOTHING. Horrible experience from Staples!

Alex is the best employee ever. He honestly deserves a raise. I was so frustrated after the post office couldn’t send my package and I walked into Staples to print my slip and return back to the post office. Alex helped me with the computer and when it wasn’t working, he paid for my printing after fixing it. Then as I was walking out the door, he went out of his way to tell me he could help me right then and there. He then packaged up my return diligently and saved me from another annoying trip to the post office! He was kind, sincere, and an incredible worker! I wish I could thank him even more.

So my experience at this day was location Was terrible to say the least.The The staff was Was attempting to be helpful, but I can tell my management wasn’t being allowed to help to their fullest capability. I came in to purchase a chair and I was speaking with one of the tech associates that was letting me know the functionalities of the chair and everything else that Staples offers with their furniture. When all of a sudden the tech associate was Tending to another task because a manager by the name of Maribel Came up on the tech floor right in front of me and told the tech associate why they wasn’t getting whatever taxes were behind their bench done. I can see in the moment the tech associate was telling his boss that he was tending to the customer and that he would address her in a minute This was over the radio, essentially because he was speaking to her over the radio in front of me and I can hear her over the radio. Which then she proceeded to come up on the tech floor because I read her name tag and I know that was his boss, and she proceeded to just give him a extremely negative attitude and put him down just cause he wasn’t addressing her in the moment when he was trying to focus on customer service me being a customer purchasing a product in the store it just displayed a level unprofessionalism Honestly, a very hostile work environment because she came up as nothing but extremely negative with her attitude and I feel sorry for any employees that have to work under a boss like that if these is the management that Staples has in their positions within their stores, the company should address this the manager, Mirabel At this location Gave me the customer a horrible experience because of her negative attitude and hostile Energy Staples should address her Because the way she talks to her employees is quite frankly disgusting.

I came to this Staples location to print my résumé and a booklet for a job opportunity. The print associate initially took quite a while, so I went downstairs to purchase some folders and index cards. When I returned, I noticed the print job had cutting errors that affected the layout and logo. I asked for it to be reprinted, but even after reprinting, the issue was still there.
When I pointed it out, the associate insisted it was my fault — even though my home print copy came out perfectly fine. I still tried to remain polite and patient. However, when I came back to show her my reprint code, she had already started assisting another customer. When I mentioned I had been waiting, she loudly said, “I’m doing you a favor, I didn’t have to help you.”
That response was unprofessional, embarrassing, and completely unnecessary, especially as I was simply trying to get my materials printed correctly. I waited another 5–10 minutes, but she never returned to assist me. It was disappointing to be treated this way, especially in front of other customers.
I truly hope management provides better training in professionalism, customer service, and fairness to all customers — no one should leave feeling dismissed or disrespected.Oct 24, 2025 -

I went to their Staples store on Broadway, NYC on 80th or 81st street. I purchased an ink pen and needed help selecting a refill. The cashier 1st said if you don't see, it's not there. I asked for assistance again and he said there's no one to help me....

I've been going to this store for seven years now and the staff is consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. I spend all day in my home office most days, so office equipment is the single most important tool of my trade. I got my office chair here back in 2018, and the staff helped me pick it out—best decision I ever made (and it was half off too!) Same with my desk. Same with all the other things I've come to these guys for over the years. I thought about mentioning certain staff members by name, to give them a shout, since they were so nice. But I decided not to, because everyone who works here is the best. I don't know what they're putting in the office coffeepot, but please don't ever change. This might be the friendliest big box store I've been to in my life!

I’m usually lazy when it comes to leaving reviews, but this is just too much!
This is the fourth time in the past month that I’ve gone to Staples to return an item, only to find out they’re not accepting returns. Imagine carrying a 22-pound box all the way there, planning to drop it off and then continue with other errands, but instead having to drag it back home in 100°F heat, completely throwing off your schedule.
There are no notifications that returns aren’t being processed, and not even an apology at the store. When I asked what’s going on and why their system has been on and off for over a month, the response I got was: “As far as I know, last week it was fine.”
Really? That’s what you say to someone who walked several blocks with a heavy box, expecting to finally be free-handed, only to be told to turn around and go home?
At first, I was just frustrated. But after this happening repeatedly, it feels like regular practice. Honestly, I doubt it’s just a “system issue.” It seems more like they can’t handle the volume and, instead of fixing it, they let customers bear all the inconvenience.
So, is it going to be fully resolved or we better not to rely on consistent return service?Aug 04, 2025 -
At my local store, there is always an employee greeter who kindly approaches me offering help and direction for my shopping. Staples always has what I need. Cashiers are very kind and efficient and let me know if I am due some Rewards benefits on my purchase.

Weeks ago I ordered an Academic Planner (July-June) from Amazon. They said it would arrive by July 5; it did not. After tracking, I learned that the new delivery date would be August 14
--making it impossible for me to record 6 weeks of appointments. On Sunday, July 6, I called Staples. Leroy checked that the item was in stock, and left it with the cashier. The price was cheaper than Amazon's. I love Staples!Jul 08, 2025 -

The staff is always helpful, professional, and speedy. Had a rush job right before our wedding, and they handled it perfectly. Have been by several times since, and the service and quality of prints has been just as good. This is my go-to Staples!

The Staples store on 81st St. and Broadway is my number one store everybody's pleasant and knowledgeable. I had a wonderful experience shopping there. For my Computer chairs, inks papers and my weekly planner and everything, but don't take my word for it go see for yourself.

All sales people and manager were great. Jaylen was especially wonderful helping me update my Staples app. There was a credit there that I didn't even know that I had had. Great prices on paper goods.

Staples is the best place for me and I guess many other satisfied customers. I am an Author and all the stuff I need to be the best I can be at my talent is at staples, I also get discounts once I became a member. I can get my ink, paper, calendars, pens stick-it, folder jackets. Great place to get your office supplies. STAPLES!

I think it’s great to print at Staples instead of buying my own printer and inks. The instructions were easy to follow. And I would make sure to select black-and-white and lower-quality paper for printing shipping labels. The price was good in that setting. I can drop off there. They have a large table for me to label my packages (I bring my own tape, but they sell tapes too). The staff there were friendly and did what they were supposed to do. No complaints. :)

Employees shut the doors at least 5 minutes before closing time and left me outside holding a package I needed to drop off. Didn't react, even though they saw me. Then, while I was on a phone call outside, one employee cynically unlocked and opened the door at 9 to tell me they close at 9. So when your location shuts down from lack of customers, remember it's this kind of attitude that ensured you lost local business.

One stop shop for all office /home office/school supply needs as well as Moving and packing items too. Staples has good quality computers and electronics..It’s very Well stocked and honestly very very well maintained store in NYC. staff was very helpful and they showed me how to operate the bog scanner. I had to urgently print/scan that’s how I landed here .(had to do it in 15 mins so couldn’t get home) . The home office furniture collection is awesome , they have very affordable and good quality office furniture like computer desk, height adjusting desk and computer chairs. On a side note you can make a spare key also they have a machine
