I have come here several times and everyone is very kind and helped me solve problems that I have had with finding the correct screws to certain items that need repair. Excellent customer service and I will be back if needed
The guy at the counter here is always rude and unhelpful. Yesterday I needed help picking the right screw and he made it very clear how inconvenienced he was. I’ll take the hint and go to the hardware store a few blocks down from now on!
I came in looking for a tiny metric bolt for my guitar and they had it - and when I went to pay - dude gave it to me for free. Best ever. I love Columbus Hardware.
stopped in today with a pretty specific request - and got immediate help with my project. Louis was careful, thoughtful, and skillful. While I waited, I couldn't help but notice all the other customers receiving assistance and finding what they needed. I will of course be back.
I had a really disappointing experience getting my TV mounted. I told the installer multiple times that he was mounting the bracket backwards and even had to show him a video on how to do it correctly. I also gave specific instructions on the height I wanted the TV, but he ended up hanging it higher than requested and not centered. I messaged the coordinator about the issue, but there was poor communication throughout. I even went to the store in person, and the installer told me he’d come back two days later to fix it—he never showed up or contacted me again. Overall, very unprofessional experience.
Paid, was all ready to walk out and the guy told me that if I wanted both parts of the tool (which he pulled off the shelf for me) I had to pay another $40
Then he pretended not to understand English when I complained about the blatant scam
Had to get some last minute woodworking done, Louis was incredibly helpful and was able to get it done within the hour! Extremely reasonable price as well, fantastic service.
Excellent customer service by Luis who was knowledgeable and very helpful. I needed a non standard tiny screw. The store did not carry the right size for sale, but Luiz went in the back and found exactly what i needed and simply gave it to me. Amazing
Horrible customer service, poor shipment handling, and unreliable delivery service. I had a package delivered to Columbus Hardware and went to retrieve it at 5:45pm. The employee said they close the UPS Access Point at 5:30pm even though the email from UPS says it's available for pickup until 6pm. I didn't argue and returned the next morning. I showed the same employee my ID for the package and he asked for the last 4 digits of the tracking number. As I was pulling up my email he said in Spanish "These customers are never ready" (I guess he didn't know I speak perfect Spanish? It also took me less than 10 seconds to open my email and provide him with the digits). I ignored his rude comment and provided the tracking number. After I saw and heard him kicking around other people's shipments for two minutes, he said he didn't have the package and to call UPS. I called UPS, got more information about the delivery and called Columbus Hardware back since UPS confirmed they shipped the package with a signature and a photo. The same employee answered and and his response was "I don't have your package bro and we don't handle these situations on the phone."
Overall this has been a horrible experience and urge everyone to use a different UPS Access Point. Even if you receive your package, it is likely they handled it very poorly in the meantime.
I took the door frame for my screen door to the backyard to Columbus Hardware NYC to have new screens installed. They installed brand new screens flawlessly. The work was priced fairly and completed quickly. I highly recommend them. Friendly and easy to work with. Bravo!

This used to be a great store with friendly and helpful staff. Now the staff is young, unhelpful, and pretending like they don’t work there. I wanted something VERY basic. I checked twice to see if they had it. The second time, the guy didn’t even make eye contact with me and told me I should just go to the rival hardware store a few blocks away. When it’s so easy to order online (which is what I ended up doing), why send customers away?
Fabulous experience for my lamp repair that I wanted to do myself. They sold me the correct part, and later, when I couldn't figure out how to put it back together, they were able to do it in three minutes. I asked him how he did it, and he said, "experience."

The most awesome hardware store ever. Everything you could possibly need, and an icon of accessibility proving that even a fully-packed corner hardware shop can be fully wheelchair accessible. I popped in for a metric socket to fix my ailing European wheelchair - not only did they give me precisely the right one, but actually fixed my wheelchair for me in the store in 15 mins! And wouldn't even accept a tip for their time. God bless you!
