Had to get some last minute woodworking done, Louis was incredibly helpful and was able to get it done within the hour! Extremely reasonable price as well, fantastic service.
Excellent customer service by Luis who was knowledgeable and very helpful. I needed a non standard tiny screw. The store did not carry the right size for sale, but Luiz went in the back and found exactly what i needed and simply gave it to me. Amazing
Horrible customer service, poor shipment handling, and unreliable delivery service. I had a package delivered to Columbus Hardware and went to retrieve it at 5:45pm. The employee said they close the UPS Access Point at 5:30pm even though the email from UPS says it's available for pickup until 6pm. I didn't argue and returned the next morning. I showed the same employee my ID for the package and he asked for the last 4 digits of the tracking number. As I was pulling up my email he said in Spanish "These customers are never ready" (I guess he didn't know I speak perfect Spanish? It also took me less than 10 seconds to open my email and provide him with the digits). I ignored his rude comment and provided the tracking number. After I saw and heard him kicking around other people's shipments for two minutes, he said he didn't have the package and to call UPS. I called UPS, got more information about the delivery and called Columbus Hardware back since UPS confirmed they shipped the package with a signature and a photo. The same employee answered and and his response was "I don't have your package bro and we don't handle these situations on the phone."
Overall this has been a horrible experience and urge everyone to use a different UPS Access Point. Even if you receive your package, it is likely they handled it very poorly in the meantime.
I took the door frame for my screen door to the backyard to Columbus Hardware NYC to have new screens installed. They installed brand new screens flawlessly. The work was priced fairly and completed quickly. I highly recommend them. Friendly and easy to work with. Bravo!
Just go to any other hardware store. There are several nearby. The staff here will make you question all humankind. Rude. Kinda mean spirited and really, really unhelpful. Truly, go down the block to 48th St.

Such an awesome staff! Had a piece of hardware that needed servicing that the manufacturer wouldn’t honor the warranty and they fixed it for me in the time it took to have a key copied.
Bought a can of WD40 and charged me $15. Checked on my phone immediately and Home Depot and they were selling it for $5. Requested a return; didn’t use/open, return eligible as it said on the receipt. Dude at the register was talking some smack in front of my face and accused me of using it then returning it. Told him he could check the security camera. He told me they won’t do that kind of return next time.

For some reason UPS left our package at their store. Eviidengtly, they regularly hold UPS shipments. The notice said we had until the 14th to pick it up, but when I arrived today on the 12th, the store guy said he already sent it back. When I askekd why, he said: "yo, I don't work for UPS." So if you're looking for a business with surly "tough luck, not my problem" attitude, this is the place for you.
As a single mom living in NYC, I must say that this hardware really made it easy for me with the assembly of my son's bed. The gentlemen working here will go above and beyond to ensure that you are FULLY SATISFIED with the service you requested. 100% recommend them for any home needs you may have.
I came because a bolt fell out of my son’s stroller and I was helped fast and efficiently. The guy who helped me also helped fix the issue and did the repair for me. Would recommend!!
This used to be a great store with friendly and helpful staff. Now the staff is young, unhelpful, and pretending like they don’t work there. I wanted something VERY basic. I checked twice to see if they had it. The second time, the guy didn’t even make eye contact with me and told me I should just go to the rival hardware store a few blocks away. When it’s so easy to order online (which is what I ended up doing), why send customers away?
Sooo helpful and friendly! I have no idea about this stuff and they let me try a selection of sized pieces and bring back the ones that didn’t fit. Best experience I’ve ever had in a hardware store!
Fabulous experience for my lamp repair that I wanted to do myself. They sold me the correct part, and later, when I couldn't figure out how to put it back together, they were able to do it in three minutes. I asked him how he did it, and he said, "experience."

I’ve been living in NYC for 14 years and lived in at least 7 different neighborhoods, this is by far the most superior hardware store I’ve encountered. Everyone who works there is uniformly, consistently, friendly. Every project or question I’ve had they’ve been conscientious in listening to and super detail oriented and meticulous with fairly encyclopedic knowledge when answering. Sense of humor too, which is nice. Prices are very reasonable.
Luis did an excellent job fixing my breakfast tray!!! The second side needed repair and I brought it back in. The service is excellent and I am please with how he fixed the first side. I highly recommend!!!
The most awesome hardware store ever. Everything you could possibly need, and an icon of accessibility proving that even a fully-packed corner hardware shop can be fully wheelchair accessible. I popped in for a metric socket to fix my ailing European wheelchair - not only did they give me precisely the right one, but actually fixed my wheelchair for me in the store in 15 mins! And wouldn't even accept a tip for their time. God bless you!
