What clients say about Microsoft Experience Center in New York (NY)

The Microsoft Experience Center on 5th Avenue is a great little stop if you’re in NYC! I recently visited and had a fun time testing out some Xbox systems and games on the second floor—completely free, which was a nice surprise. While it’s a bummer that the McLaren Forza driving experience is no longer there, it was still a cool, laid-back way to spend some free time. Definitely worth a visit!

Very knowledgeable staff. They can answer all your questions without being to pushy. They even recommended other products so you know they aren't trying to upsell you on anything. Chill atmosphere with all their products on display. Seating areas as well. Upstairs is a game area. They have all the Xbox's on display and can play some of them on the wall. There is a row of PCs that have games on them as well. If you go in the middle of the day, there is no crowd and can play as much as you want.

This is the best Microsoft store I’ve ever visited! It’s more than just a place to buy products—it’s an experience center where you can try everything hands-on. The staff are all friendly and kind. I highly recommend a visit!

I had the privilege of visiting the Microsoft Experience Center on 5th Avenue in New York City today, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kai and Mrs. Janey for their exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and expertise. The space is incredibly well-designed, showcasing Microsoft's cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions in an interactive and immersive environment. The team took the time to walk me through various offerings, answer my questions, and provide insights tailored to my interests and industry. Mr. Kai's in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm were truly inspiring, while Mrs. Janey’s attention to detail and warm approach made the visit both productive and enjoyable. This visit reaffirmed Microsoft's commitment to empowering individuals and businesses with technology. I highly recommend stopping by the Microsoft Experience Center to anyone who wants to stay ahead of the curve in today’s tech-driven world. Thank you again, Mr. Kai and Mrs. Janey, for making this visit so memorable!

Met Cuame and other girl - forgot ask name. We had awesome long conversation with Cuame about the history of Microsoft. A1 customer services skilled. Even IT field changing now, still have people like him want to teach public. Thank you.

This place is the best. You walk in first floor is for products and product repair. The second floor is a McLaren experience that is out of this world and the people working there were so super nice if I could give them 10 Stars I would. The next floor is the gaming center which is also very cool and highly recommend it. I had just left the Apple Store and this hands down is 10 times the experience and the people were super nice and helpful we ended up spending over an hour just hanging out because it was such a cool place. The pictures that I uploaded and the video speak volumes about the experience versus what I'm typing here. I would not hesitate come in and experience this place

Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff at the experience store on Fifth. Jose went above and beyond to help me get my laptop set up today. He was kind, very professional and went the extra mile to make sure I was all set. Great experience overall!

Love going to the only store in the entire tri state area after being told on the phone they can help me in store. I walked half an hour from work to drop off a computer that I just bought and can't get repaired anywhere because it's too new for repair shops to get the screen that needs to be replaced. I get there, they can't fix it in house and can't ship it out for me. I have to ship it out on my own when I was told they would ship it out in store when I called. Wish I could give 0 stars. Waste of time and customer service I'm switching to Apple after this.

Called to make an appointment and the guy that answered after a 20 min wait, insisted that I need to talk to the technical department although I told him that every update, uninstall/install etc to fix my very expensive out of the box surface device has been taken, and the app built in the device for problem solving recommended to take it to the store. He put me on hold for another 54 min coming back two times to tell me that he is waiting to be connected and at the end the line dropped. What a waste of time that I don't have. Although he recorded my phone number in case that happened, I never got a call back till today three days later.

In general I find Microsoft online and phone support to be infuriatingly frustrating. However, I love that I can opt into going to a store with knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful professionals to provide me with the support I expect when I pay for the full warranties that I always do. Johan and Jillian were exceptionally helpful for me when I had to send my surface laptop in for repair. The Microsoft experience center is a nice dnd comfortable environment. I wish there were more of them like there are Apple stores. It would make being a reliable Microsoft customer much easier.

Wow! I happened to walk by Microsoft while visiting NYC. I had an issue with my computer and decided to go into the store to discuss with staff. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, work as a team. Great staff at the store! My computer is fixed! Yay!

Jose (with glasses) was amazing! He explained every thing in detail regarding the processor and our usage requirements! Would definitely go to him for advice and purchasing at this centre

Really nice and fun store to be in. Each floor has different themes and it’s really really fun to be in. I recommend to everyone. The only thing I didn’t like was that the employees upstairs assumed I wasn’t 18+ to play the VR fallout game. Had to give my ID to prove my age but overall things were fine. Employees could be rude at times though. But overall alright experience.

The Microsoft Experience Center was a very cool space with display units of all of the modern Microsoft products and accessories. The design of the store is phenomenal and very modern and clean. The third floor is set up like a gaming room with a dark gaming ambiance and atmosphere. I was able to get the new Xbox without any issues and the associates I worked with were very helpful and personable. I was in a rush but I would love to come visit again and really explore the display areas and merchandise. It's definitely worth checking out even if you weren't planning to buy anything!

Never use Microsoft, they are a nightmare for anyone who gets locked out of their account. They give you a computerized voice on the phone who ignores all requests for a live person, and only links you to worthless websites and hangs up on you if you persist in requesting a live person. Then if you interact by chat, they claim helplessness because they care more about hackers getting in than about finding a solution. I’ll switch to Apple for my next computer and hope they are better behaved.

Their support staff were phenomenal. I received excellent support from Jefferson an microsoft support staff. The place stocks up well on accessories. When I was there, there were some training sessions going on. I think these are free for kids to pick up IT skills. Also the gaming section looked interesting. All in all well done Microsoft. You got a loyal customer now thanks to the outstanding customer service I received.

Went out of my way yet again to experience the Microsoft brand. What a bland and uninviting experience. After Seattle visit (see my other review) I am now, after 40 years an MS fan, disinclined to further support the brand. My shares might get improved value if you dropped the high rent and the dozen staff hanging around.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation to the staff who assisted me. Throughout my interaction with them, it was evident that they work with a sense of purpose, professionalism, and extraordinary patience. They demonstrated a positive attitude, genuine care, and a true desire to help, all delivered in a personal and pleasant manner. The service I received was nothing short of excellent. Their attention to detail, willingness to listen to my needs, and the effort they invested in finding a solution to every issue I raised reflect a high level of dedication and care. Employees like these are a shining example of quality service, and I feel fortunate to have received treatment that exceeded my expectations. Thank you wholeheartedly for such a positive experience and for the meaningful impact you have made! Names- Cuame Jillian Melanie

Microsoft has done a wonderful job setting up this flagship store on Fifth Avenue. This 3-story building features everything that Microsoft makes and also offers great in-person support for those that may need a little extra help with their Microsoft devices. For those that are undecided about whether or not to purchase a Microsoft device, there are plenty of demo models to play with to help with your decision-making process. The employees are all extremely helpful and there is rarely a crowd at the store.

Worst experience ever. I bought a brand new MSL 7th edition and it was broken, continues blue screens happening, drivers not recognized, and other issues. I talked with support and couldn't give me a solution, I tried calling to the store and never answer. Basically the solution was to go to the store but I'm at other country. No wonder people prefer apple. If you are reading this and considering in getting a microsoft product, don't, go to the apple store right in the fifth avenue and you will have a much greater experience and product

When you arrive at the store at 12.15, and the apology sign indicates it will open an hour late... 15 mins ago. I looked at the sad people waiting outside as I loudly rattled the doors. A security person stepped forward and a bounced something in my direction at the closed doors. I pushed my ear against the Crack between the door and asked the guard to speak up because I couldn't hear them. They opened the door and said it would be another 45 mins before they opened. I thanked them for this information and heard the disgruntled listeners talk of thier Ling journeys to get to the store and thoer long wait. I returned an hour later. I had $1000 to spend and one problem to solve before I would part with the cash. An hour later, frustrated, I walked out of the store because there is only so much condescention an old lady who worked on the windows Shell team can take in one sitting. I suspect the staff there must have a horrible experience. Microsoft may have lost a subscribing customer because they don't treat thier front of house staff well. Making snide comments about Apple and Google is not a good look. Failing to uncover the details of my problem, was not a good look. Not recognising that parting with $1000 for a computer is a journey that should be treated woth respect and ceremony is not a good look. Laughing at my 10 year old Sirface Pro is not a good look. Saying you don't trade in old computers, is not a good look. I won't be back. I'll probably buy a chrome book and move my o drive content thier and end my subscription to Microsoft. I don't need it or them. My next trip will be to a chromebook outlet.

This store is not given nearly enough credit for how awesome it consistantly is. It's basically a big gaming store, with the 3rd floor always having something awesome on it. From high end PC gaming setups to VR experiences you never know what you will find in here. And the staff is always happy to show it off. The last time they had an actual McLaren in there that had been converted to simulate driving it while you play Forza Horizon 5. The car even shifted around as you "drove". I can't imagine what it cost just to get the thing in there, let alone to convert an actual McLaren into basically the worlds most expensive gaming chair. Oh and all the experiences and demos are free. This really is a hidden gem on 5th Ave. You can buy controllers and xbox stuff if you want, but the real attraction is the stuff most normal people could never afford.

This place had 7 floor with tour every hour to their upper level. They have all the new product here for testing. Floor 1-3 have ton of space to check out This store have staff to help everything that you will need to get set up for VR and other new product. Will go back again next time in the area. Great place to go to spend some free time. As with covid-19 there are a lot of changr that is happening. I would like to take this time to update the below info. 2020 update: This Microsoft Store location is currently closed until further notice. We know families, remote workers and businesses are under unique pressure at this time so we are still here to serve you with virtual workshops, trainings and products available on Microsoft.com or you can contact us for help. Please keep following for future update.

MS Store on 5th Avenue in NYC Got excellent service from Cuame I reside in Chicago and have been experiencing broken phone calls or online chats with MS (365) I bought a MS365 with license for 15 months from Costco. MS stopped being customer savvy long ago. I have tried to change password, update software and still unable to use the applications for by far too long. Basically throwing money down the drain. I have MS365 for MAC I hope you realize that not everybody is an expert in recovering the software. Again, the store associate was terrific. However: my issues is more involved. Thank you! Thanks

This Microsoft store on Fifth avenue is a godsend for computer illiterate folks like myself. The staff is is extremely friendly and helpful. In particular, STONE is the BEST genius available to help - super patient and understanding of all the personal and business needs! Take advantage of living in or close in NYC. Only Microsoft store left in the USA. Thank you again Stone!

Extremely overpriced notebook- (surface pro) and desktop computers (surface studio) in a "faux Apple" store without working water fountain The aesthetic is shamelessly copied from Microsoft's competitor a few blocks north: white walls, bright wood, oversized dining room tables, lots of glass and glass stairs. Do all the worshippers in this open access cathedral realize that the overpriced electronics pay for the aesthetic experience of the store. Apple genius bar, excuse me bar with Microsoft techies on second floor. Dark gaming den on third floor: this apparently is the future - forget about Central Park and shut out Fifth Avenue. Who needs that now that we have gone bonkers ... ahem, virtual?

My sister and I have been to this store last month because had to take this computer for a manufacture reset. The techs there were nice and helpful.

An absolute must for car enthusiasts! I arrived pretty early on a Saturday morning and there was no line for the forza simulator. Such a fun experience (and a super aesthetic photo spot)!

I absolutely love this place! They have classes for the kids and often give away free products. They truly want you to be their loyal customers and they work to establish that connection from early on. I will definitely be going back! They are awesome!
