Came in at 8:45 pm 15 minutes before closing and Rav serviced me, he changed my battery hassle free. Staff was very helpful and had a pleasant experience. Highly recommend!!!

Was able to return an electrical part that I no longer needed (180$) even though one of the associates wanted me it could only be replaced if defective thanks to the manager not stamping my receipt at the time of purchase

I bought the diehard portable charger in Jan 2024, used once and now it doesn't hold a charge. Just missed the one year warranty and leaving for a 3 day road trip tomorrow.

Horrible service they don’t answer and they don’t care about their employees they all stand around on their phones and talking to each other and won’t pick up the phone they need to hire better people here the service is trash the worst experience every single time !

I bought 1 battery around like $350 with 48 months warranty after i bought within 6 months my battery is damaged and I went to Advance Auto parts then they said to me this product is no more selling permanently closed…this is soo stupid….worse company and worse product selling…theft company ????????

This is a good location. The only thing I wish they would do is add a self-checkout. Sometimes I just want to come in and buy some oil and I don't want to wait for them to explain to some dude why you can't just buy one brake pad. Otherwise it's a good location

I was trying to get assistance with a scanner code reader, which their website and google advertised they would do that for free. However, it’s not provided at this store. So it’s false advertisements.

Wanted to turn in a core battery for the $10 store credit. Easier said than done... Advance Autoparts clearly states on their website that they will offer a 10 bucks store credit for car core batteries REGARDLESS WHERE AND WHERE such were purchased. However, this is not the case at the Sunnyside NYC location. Walked in on the evening of August 22nd with the battery and was asked by the lady behind the counter if it was purchased from them (it was not, since the battery was the original car battery); then I was asked if I wanted to purchase a new battery (I did not because the car was already sold and I didn't think it would be practical to use a car battery for my cell phone.) At this point a young fellow, probably the store manager, chimed in and stated that he'll take the battery but won't give anything in return because "we don't have any merchandise to give" ... Since when store credit is considered to be "merchandise"?! Very rude attitude also on his part. When I said that I'll take the battery somewhere else, he made a "generous offer" by saying that I could take all their dead batteries with me. From what I understand, this particular location and regardless of who worked there over the years or presently, has a very bad reputation. Corporate doesn't really care, the concept of customer service/retention is unknown to them.

Be careful with this store guys ! they didn’t let you know in front that when you buy something from them ! it’s no returns .even when the article was bought a few hours ago and don’t even opened! They want to be smart and they let you buy something in advance to tell you after , that they can’t give you the service to put what you bought in their store for your vehicle .

I was looking to replace the muffler assembly. What I found online didn't fit. The counter guy couldn't be bothered by looking up the various parts and told me to go to Metlife Stadium area and shop for a 2nd hand one. That's an hour I'll never get back.

I usually never wrote reviews, but this Advance Auto Parts left a really bad taste in my mouth. The first cashier didn't understand the basic question that I asked about iridium spark plugs. After giving up and when I wanted to price match oil I intended to buy with a price from Walmart (which by policy Advance Auto Parts honors), the other cashier piped in and told me to get it from Walmart instead. I waited for 10 minutes after both cashiers left as the only customer in the store. Aside from that, the store is a mess. I wouldn't even recommend this store to my worst enemy. 1/10 would not recommend.

The guy working the register is nice and just as nice was the young man that swap my battery out for me. Whole process took less than 30mins from waiting in line to order to driving off. 10/10

4 people behind the counter. 1 helping a customer out for like 25 since I was there and it seemed he was there for awhile. Not a single employee asked if I needed help, what I was looking. After 25 min of standing and not being acknowledged I walked out. Wish I can give zero stars

There is a guy at the register playing with the computer and he can’t help you then another guy comes out and of course the attitude and if you are a woman they talk down to you let’s do better with customer service Woman are smart and know about cars

Completely untrustworthy staff. Came in asking for a price match from an online competitor. The clerk said they don't do price matches whatsoever. When I showed him the website he pretended to have no idea what I was talking about. The second clerk acknowledged they price match but made up a completely bogus excuse why that didn't apply in my case.

My recent visit to this store was disappointing. While previous experiences were positive with helpful younger staff, today's encounter was marred by the extremely rude behavior of a lady employee. The customer service was dismal, and even the gentleman with white hair proved unhelpful. Adding to the frustration, the lady served the next customer despite us being in the process of finalizing our purchases. Such poor service warrants a zero-star rating solely due to her attitude.

Except for my own Bengali brother (who was ok) all the staff were very helpful and genuine. Not just interested in making unnecessary sales nor were they lazy or impatient. Knew better than the mechanic what was needed

I bought a set of floor-mat for my car on April 15 for $19.99+tax and brought it back to the store on April 17 for return. It was intact, box/pack was not open at all. I lost the receipt, but I had the credit card with me that I have used for the purchase. I have logged in to my credit card account and showed the associate the total charges. The person (and elderly person) who was helping me was very non-cooperative and rude. He could not issue a refund, but he said he can issue a store credit, I was okay with it. Then he said he was not able to issue the credit and I have to buy something to adjust. Whereas I paid $19.99+tax for the good, he allow me to buy only $16.99+tax worth of goods. The product was still hanging on their shelf for $19.99 and I have shown him the transaction on my credit card. It was a bitter experience, the store associate was rude. If you are looking for a better customer service, helpful staff, professional service, this is not the place to go. I will never go there again.

If you are an elderly person, STAY AWAY! You WILL certainly be taken advantage of if you don't know what you are doing. My father made a recent visit to this place and was told that for a particular service, he would be receiving $147 refunded back to him. My dad went through with all the protocols and they assured him he would be refunded. My dad is 74 years old and he asked again and again for his promised refund, several times, and he was finally told that he would not be receiving it. This is what they do to the elderly, they pretend and re-assure you that you'll receive your refund, but when the day comes, they find an excuse to keep your money cause they never intended to give it back. Beware of these gimmicks! I suggest you stay away if you want to 'keep' your hard earned income, cause they will certainly give you a run-about. In addition, if you value your elderly, don't send them to this place 'alone'; they will be taken advantage of!

Today at 12:00pm On 09/19/2022 l had an appointment made for my vehicle at Pep boys,remind you it wasn't no walk-in, it was scheduled way out of an advance to be treated as a last minute solution for them to have oil change inspection sticker replace and a diagnostic check for squeaky noise on my vehicle. I had call numerous times to see if my vehicle was done. On the second call one of the maintenance told me the car would be done by 430 pm . I call again before the store closed and the car was not even complete at all. Nothing was done to the vehicle. I spoke to the manager and told me that to leave the car for tomorrow. Which I did not request for that, because I work with the vehicle. I requested the manager what was his proposition and gave me a vague answer. I came in person and had them conduct the oil change because they said they couldn't do the diagnostic and inspection on my vehicle, I am disappointed by the auto shop especially as a military veteran and a first time customer for Pep boys. I want a better proposition for this disappointment. Leaving my car for 6 hours so that nothing was done to the vehicle. I lost a whole entire day of jobs work.

Have mixed experience, most of them negative. There is a old man that works there and he has a terrible attitude, everyone in general seems to be depressed. But there are occasions when its completely dead and they will ring you up quickly. ( edit, 4/4/2021 looks like they hired a new guy, looks like in his 50s or 60s his name is Pal, really nice guy when I went to get some micro fiber towels, he actually had his mask on and was ringing people up while others were standing around on their phone )

I stopped by to purchase some parts. First of all there was only 1 person attending consumers at the register. I waited very long to be attended. The part I was looking for wasn’t on the shelve. When I asked if she could look up the item to see if it could be ordered or was available at a different store. The cashiers response was “I’m not going to waste my time” I asked to speak to a manager and immediately she responded she was the assistant manager! What horrible costumer service. This is no way to talk to costumers. Will not be returning. Learn to provide good costumer service!

Worst customer service I’ve ever received in my entire life. I contacted them to ensure that they had my side view mirror in stock and they told me they did have two different versions of my mirror available. I drove 20 minutes without a side view mirror to have them tell me that it was not available. When I expressed some frustration one of the workers was extremely rude to me and dismissed me. He tried to tell me how many years he had worked there, which did nothing to address concern that I had to get back on road without side mirror. He dismissed me to section of the store where they sold replacement mirrors, yet offered zero assistance and gave no customer service whatsoever so I walked out of the store. I tried to give the store another chance given that my part was needed and did not feel comfortable driving much without it. Went back they ordered the wrong one despite showing pictures and giving exact information on my car. Went back in and ordered another one which I had to wait for a week to come in, wrong piece again. When I called back got the same guy that was completely rude to me and rather than hear my concerns he was telling me how it wasn’t his fault (never said it was) and I wasn’t the one he spoke with. When in the history of customer service do you argue with your customers. When I had audacity to tell him how rude his service was and how dare he speak to customers that way he hung up on me. Went back to try to get correct mirror AGAIN and they tried to tell me I would have to wait a whole other week and some change. What company does not expedite a part knowing their customer has had this type of experience???? This is the worse customer service I’ve had in the history of my 30 years and not only will I never be back to this store again, I will be contacting corporate to inform them of how their workers placed my safety in jeopardy by giving incorrect information and not having correct part multiple times.
