I brought my 2003 Honda crv here after the transmission error light came on(the car still drove perfectly). I had requested them to read it for codes, check the sensors, and test the shift solenoids. They called me saying it probably just needed a flush, told them to go ahead with that (Didn’t work). Then I was told the transmission was bad and needed replacement, $9,000 for a new one or $7,500ish for a used one with 150k miles, at this point in time my car had just over 100k original miles on it. I declined the transmission replacement in hopes that I could do something cheaper somewhere else. When I arrived at the shop to pick up the car I made a point to ask if they could tell me what code the transmission was throwing and if they had tested all the sensors and solenoid as I requested. They wouldn’t give me the code from the transmission, just kept telling me it was a generic bad trans code, and they were very sure they checked all the sensors. Considering how the car was driving just fine I knew it was BS, I drove the car right from their shop over to Oriellys auto parts and it took the kid behind the counter 2 minutes to hook up the scanner and tell me exactly what the code was and what sensor needed replaced(it was the Transmission Range Sensor/Neutral Safety Switch), went and pulled one from the junkyard the next day for $7 and put it in myself in about 10 minutes. Never had any lights or issues since. I wouldn’t recommend this shop anymore, after years of bringing my cars here they are just as quick to try and scam me as they would anyone else. For reference as to just how bad this is, the Transmission range sensor that needed replacing was immediately accessible without the need to remove a single thing from the car, I just turned my wheel all the way to the right and there it was lol. I didn’t even need to jack the car up. Just did it in my drive way with a ratchet and 10mm socket.

These guys are absolute rock stars. I’m from out of town, and they did everything humanly possible to get me back on the road the same day. While the nature of the repair ultimately required more time, the team went above and beyond to help. Since the issue was related to previous work done elsewhere, they stepped up to facilitate and coordinate every detail of the process. The staff is professional, polite, and truly customer-focused. The shop itself is meticulously clean, and they treat your vehicle as if it were their own. I highly recommend them! Special shout out to Lance and Logan for the incredible support.

Christian brothers were a lifesaver for me. One Friday afternoon I found myself near Christian Brothers automotive after picking up my car from an airport hotel and scraping the bottom of my car on ice chunks in a unplowed hotel parking lot. They got me right in, spent 20 minutes bolting everything back up that was hanging and scraping my tire, and sent me on my way. No charge! Amazing. And I enjoyed their clean lobby and Christian music as well.

Super friendly and honest shop. They checked my steering and suspension to make sure everything was safe and working properly, explained it clearly, and didn’t pressure me at all. Fair prices and great service — definitely recommend!

Responsive and offer a shuttle service. Get definitely multi quotes. High repair costs, even ABOVE luxury car dealership pricing. Long repair times ( told me 5 days, dealership repaired in 1/2)

Shady upselling my fiance saying she needed a multitude of expensive parts, quoting us over $10,000. After doing our research, we realized all but one of these parts were already replaced by the dealership less than a year ago. When confronted about this, it seemed they didn’t actually check to see if these parts needed replacement. Just based on the cars mileage they automatically suggested it. If we didn’t do our due diligence, we would’ve wasted $10k and followed through with their suggestions.

Fantastic group of people. Treated me with respect from the moment I walked in. I came in for a service today and Christian Brothers Automotive really took care of what they needed to, they were honest, fast, and explained everything clearly. I left feeling confident in the work they did. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality service and great customer care.

I brought my car in to get two broken studs on a single tire replaced plus the lugnuts. I was quoted $100-200 over the phone and brought it in. The receptionist Aurora said it was "very likely" that they would save some money from the upper range unless the repair was difficult for some reason. When I got the car back, I was charged the high-end amount of $200. When I asked what was difficult about the repair, I was told that they replaced all 5 lugnuts on the tire because they were swollen. The lesson here is that if you get a cost range from Christian Brothers Automotive, it will 100% be the maximum possible amount, despite what they tell you. Unless you actually believe that changing 3 extra lugnuts costs $100. Yet another mechanic that will bleed as much money out of their customers as possible.

Two weeks ago our truck was towed to Christian Brothers. Even after extensive explanation of starting issues, they claimed their diagnostic test only showed a bad battery. So $600 later we have a new battery; however, 19 days later the same truck won't start with the same issues BEFORE the battery was replaced. We called Christian Brothers and we were told they would replace the starter for parts and labor and that we would still need to pay for a second $175 diagnostic test. When we argued about paying for a second dianostic test in less than three weeks, they refused to waive the fee saying they need to pay their technician. Custimers beware! This company overlooked our problem during our first visit and charged over $600 for a diagnostic test and battery. Instead of waiving the second diagnostic test, which would have been fair and a sign of good customer service, they choose to charge us this fee for a second attempt to fix what they didn't repair the first time. Oh, they did offer to charge only for parts and labor for the new starter.

About two months ago, Christian Brothers Automotive in Cascade held a community give-back event offering free oil changes. They created such a welcoming atmosphere—providing hats, shirts, snacks, muffins, coffee, and bagels—and their service was impressively fast. The receptionists were respectful and friendly, and the technicians not only completed the oil change efficiently but also checked our cars for any future maintenance needs. I left very satisfied, especially since they later followed up with a courtesy call. Today, I received another call from them with news that truly blessed me. During my oil change, they noticed I needed new tires (which was true—my back tire had been slowly going flat since around August 2025, and I kept refilling it until I could afford a full set). I had been putting off buying new tires because of the cost and lack of time. But today, they let me know they had received funds and were able to provide me with four brand-new tires and install them on my vehicle at no cost. I was honestly overwhelmed. God is so good. This team has truly blessed me, and I couldn’t be more thankful for their kindness and generosity. Feeling blessed and highly favored. Thank you, Christian Brothers Automotive Cascade! 🙌🏽

Christian Brothers recently completed free oil changes for the community in need. I am truly thankful to have participated in this opportunity. It’s events and places like this that truly make a difference in the world. Super friendly staff and I look forward to doing business again in the future! Nice Work!!’

This place removes poor reviews. They removed my last one. They will respond acting all confused about it Im sure lol. Very expensive and they cost me a fortune on completely wrong repair diagnosis. I had to take my car to another shop to ACTUALLY repair my car correctly. Additionally, they do not honor their warranty forever. My experience was you get one “free” fix then they seem to get uncomfortable repairing under the warranty. Do not go here on the assumption of that the warranty is bulletproof. Its not, read the exclusions on the website too. Edit October 2025: These people definitely have me in their system and definitely know who I was. Typical corporate response. Dont be fooled people.

I haven't gone here in a while but I keep getting asked to review so here it is. EVERY SINGLE PART THEY TOUCHED FAILED. CV axles replaced, failed in 6 months, they refused to fix other than full price, paid to get them fixed, failed a year later, fuel pump replaced, failed again, vehicle computer needed 200 dollar software update, they updated it and than I had to pay 1500 to buy a new one at a different mechanic cause every electronic went haywire after they touched it. Went there repeatedly about a gas cap light after the fuel pump replacement, spent 400 total just to get the light again and crawl under to see they never hooked a pipe back up. Every time I was charged for new parts but when I went to another mechanic to get them replaced I was told the parts were far older than the date on the paperwork saying when they were fixed. Never went here again and never will.

These people are liars who will tell you that need a new engine…and it’s just spark plugs/ignition coils ( or some other simple maintenance repair needed). My husband and I had our car repaired here last summer and paid over $7200 in repairs for engine work to be done … based off of their 12 point inspection or whatever it is that they give you. When we picked it up, they had told us that they had done the work but found a crack in the engine and that our car would be good for either another 65 miles or another 65,000 miles they couldn’t be sure but they recommended that we Get our engine replaced soon. Also that we needed our brakes done… We just had those done with new tires a month prior. The vehicle has had the same problems with the engine light on, misfires, and fuel economy until…. I took the vehicle to our known mechanic and he stated that we were ripped off and that the vehicle just needed spark plugs and ignition coils replaced. We had those replaced and the car has been driving just fine.. no engine lights no noise and fuel economy back to normal.

Do not take your vehicle to this shop. They are scam artists that will rip you off. Told me over the phone a transmission flush just fluid would be 310.00. Then when my wife arrived with the vehicle they tried telling us it would be over 1200.00 because it takes special transmission fluid. Very dishonest business.

Fred did a fabulous job! He spend lots of time on my Mini making sure it was just right. Really appreciate the time he spent, his attention to detail & very calm nature when things didn’t go as expected. Thanks Fred, appreciate you!!

Was in area on business travel and got a flat tire on a rental car. Had a spare tire in trunk but I am not a car guy so I didn’t know how to change. They did it free of charge in 15 minutes and offered me coffee. Couldn’t have been nicer.

First-class all the way! They make you feel like family from the time you walk in the door! Great service and beyond! I stopped in to just have my tire pressures checked. Btandon checked the pressures and inspected the tires. He refilled my washer fluid because he noticed the dash light on. I told him I had some in my trunk, and he still used fluid from the shop. He told me my vehicle what likely shaking because he noticed they were packed with snow/ice. I've had other shops try to sell me parts before, but he fixed the problem. Thanks for helping me have a shake-free ride home and feel safe, Brandon! If you're in the Grand Rapids/Cascade area, I'd highly recommend going here for service!!

My ford focus started up and was running extremely rough after a return flight from the airport, running on minimal sleep and exhausted I got my car towed here to have it diagnosed. I typically work on my own vehicles but I wasn’t going to mess with it in the airport parking lot. I did some basic checks in the parking lot and nothing stood out, no codes to read. I did some quick research and found out my particular engine is known for failing valve seats (most commonly at around the same mileage my car had on it) Worst case scenario but it was a possibility. It was either going to be something simple like plugs and coils or something really expensive Staff was friendly, offered me drinks while I waited on my ride. I explained that this engine is known for valve seat failure and asked them to do a compression check. I left and they got to my car later that day. Got a call back and they told me that I needed the a new timing belt, and my harmonic balancer was so old it was “almost falling off” and this is where I needed to start for repairs. I knew this was BS because I had just gone through and did a timing belt, water pump and tensioner myself (properly) less than 10k miles ago with OEM parts. I asked them if they were positive it was timing and if they did a compression test, and was told there was no reason to do a compression test given the symptoms. Also, the quote they gave me for the timing re-do was something crazy like $2400 when I personally know this is $175 in parts and like an hour of work for a home-gamer. Anyways, I declined the work and payed the diagnostic fees, came back with a car dolly to get my car after hours. Battery was dead (could be a simple mistake but I’ve never killed the battery, seemed like a middle finger to me for not paying for their work). Got the car in my shop and found the harmonic balancer in good shape, and cylinder 1 had ZERO compression, and a very chewed up spark plug. Used a bore scope and found chunks of my valve seat laying on top of the cylinder. Seriously 5 minutes of work on my end and I confirmed my suspicions that my engine was junk. What bugs me is I specifically asked them to check this but instead they wanted to steer me down the road of thousands in repairs. I understand as a shop you can’t go off the advice of every customer but the fact that they didn’t even check compression, let alone pull the plugs and look at them is a GIANT red flag. Glad I didn’t go off of their expert diagnosing skills and payed thousands to have a still broken vehicle afterwards. This happened probably six months ago now, I initially wanted to call and get my money back for the diag but I had a feeling that wasn’t going to happen so never bothered. I go out of my way to make sure people don’t take their vehicles to any Christian bros location based off of this interaction. At best they are lazy and don’t do even a remotely confidence inspiring job, and at worst they are knowingly scamming people into work that doesn’t need to get done. Find a more honest shop to take your vehicle, these guys suck.

I will start this with I am usually not someone who leaves a review. However, the service here was so incredible that I cannot leave this experience without talking about it. I had a muffler issue and called and spoke with Danielle, she was very kind and informative and told me to come in for a physical vehicle inspection so there was no conflict between misquoting/misleading on a price. I then spoke to Fred at the front desk and he was very up-front with what to expect (pricing, time-line, etc) so I did not feel blindsided or surprised by anything that would come out of the inspection. He was very kind as well, very knowledgable, and put my worries at ease. Beyond this, Christian Brothers Automotive has a shuttle and Art took me to handle a different issue at a dealership down the road. Every step of the way the people of this business treated me as if I was their son or their family member. They gave me a water bottle while I studied in the waiting room and made me feel so welcome. This business truly went above and beyond with an issue that I'm sure they see frequently, but to me felt unfamiliar and nerve wracking. I fully trust that the people here have my best interest at heart and it shined bright in their customer service as well as the actual repair. If you are considering resolving an automotive issue, I would implore you to give Christian Brothers Automotive in Cascade Township your business.

Good people Dylan Brandon Fred Dave and the whole team are good honest brothers in Christ that serve with love kindness and integrity. The whole team here went above and beyond to help me when they didn’t have to I was stranded in a difficult situation. They stepped in and truly modeled their guiding principle to love their neighbor as their self. Highly recommend this place for service. Great service! Everyone was friendly and didn’t try to push additional sales. Prices were reasonable, especially for 2024. Scheduling was painless. They also provided a shuttle to and from work, so I could drop my car off in the morning and catch a ride back when they were done. I’ll be using them in the future and recommending my friends go to them as well.

Everyone at this location was so welcoming and friendly! I went in for a simple oil change and left with new friends and feeling secure about the condition of my vehicle. Fred was very helpful and explained what work was needed to be done and didn't talk down to me about it. I will recommend all of my friends and family visit this location and work with Fred, he has outstanding customer service!

The communication was clear and concise. They made me feel included through every step of the process. It was painless and quick. They worked with me to find a fix that would fit my budget and get me back on the road in the same day. And they provided their shuttle service to pick me up when the vehicle was completed. Definitely will be returning for any future repairs.

I had a great experience. They were so helpful and the woman who drives the shuttle was wonderful too. I was so stressed about my car and they made the experience so much more manageable. I appreciated how communicative they were and helped me prioritize what work needed to be done since I couldn’t do it all at once. The kindness and honesty is what made the experience. I ask how much everything would be before they even saw the car and they explained the fees which I appreciated as it allowed me to make an informed decision. Thank you for being upfront and honest about everything from prices to urgency of work.

When I first started bringing my vehicle here, they put the service in service station. The last time, not so much. I had to call them to find out what was going on with my van. After two days, they didn’t find out what the problem was. When it broke down a few days after I got it back, I tested and replaced the battery. Problem solved. This bad experience, and the fact that their charges are on the high side, will cause me to look for a new mechanic.
Apr 28, 2023 -
Great experience! Staff are all very congenial and communicate what is happening with your vehicle at appropriate intervals. Lobby is clean and comfortable if you need to wait. They do offer a shuttle service if needed. The work I have had done has been top notch and they don't try to "sell you more things". Will certainly continue to bring my vehicles to them and definitely recommend them to others.
