I bought a car recently which I had inspected right after buying from a private party. It failed both safety inspection (windshield spray) and emissions inspection near the seller's home in Agawam. The seller agreed to cover the cost of any remediations, and I drove it home. The RMV web page recommended taking it to a registered emissions repair shop, so I found Absolute Repair as the closest one listed. My initial contact was with Scott, who asked all the right questions and reassured me that there may not even be a problem due to the way emissions are now evaluated - no more sensor wand up the tailpipe, they now download recorded sensor data from the car's data system. He asked if the car had sat for a while, possibly with a dead battery - it had. As for the windshield spray, I knew that since the pump made no noise at all when trying to spray the windshield, it had to be a bad or possibly frozen pump or else a bad electrical connection or circuit. My thought was that with the car sitting for so long, the pump must have had Summer fluid and probably froze the pump solid, preventing it from running, and probably breaking it in the process. Within 90 minutes of dropping it off at Absolute, I received my answer in the form of an email with a report attached telling me that the pump was fine (it had apparently thawed out and was undamaged) and my driving over the past week had repopulated the exhaust sensor data and the emissions test had succeeded. The report also showed that the battery's cold-cranking output was lower than it should be (will need a new battery before long), that the rear window needed a new wiper blade, and that the TPMS alerted to tire inflation being a little off. I told them I would get a battery and replace the wiper rubber myself. The total was the cost of a new inspection (the initial failure had been in Agawam, 90 minutes away, making a free reinspection not worth the 3 hour round trip). I was EXTREMELY impressed with Absolute's thoroughness, honesty and transparency to say the least. I told them they just earned my trust - and a new customer! Before leaving I learned that Scott had worked as a mechanic for years. When you have someone that qualified interacting directly with customers, it's a big step in the right direction. In my 55 years of driving, I have imagined but never known an auto repair shop like Absolute. If only they could be cloned!

i will recommend this auto place every. single. day. until the day i die. being someone who has a lot of girl friends, i always recommend them here because they never make me feel stupid. when i have questions, they explain them in non-intimidating and patient way. these people are very humble and do not take advantage of the fact you may not know anything about cars. everything they do that may cost money, they ask permission. never trying to upsell you. they send you the diagnosis document after diagnosis, that way you can see what is 'green, yellow, red'. (what is ok to what you should change). This is the only place i attend to get any car-related issue worked on. pricing is worth it. 10/10.

Repeat customer at Absolute. I’ve never had a bad experience there. I’m always told what could use service, what needs service and if there’s anything to potentially keep an eye. I bring all my vehicles here and have never had a single problem. Great group of people providing great service.

This was my first experience with absolute auto repair. I chose them based on the reviews. I have been going to Demers on Summer Street in Fitchburg for decades, Then they suddenly went out of business. I had a check engine light on that we believed was related to the thermostat. I found them to be very efficient and have excellent communication about the issues. I also appreciated them doing the inspection and passing on potential repairs needed in the future. I did have a new thermostat installed. I dropped it off the night before and had it the next day by 3 PM. Everything seems to be working fine. I plan to return and have other maintenance repairs done.

Went here after doing my research on local shops. I unfortunately encountered just about every scummy thing from a bad garage that can happen: Job took much longer than promised? Check! Job cost much more than quoted? Check! My battery, that tested "fine" upon drop off suddenly is dead and needs $350 for a replacement on top of the bad quote? Check! (I could have done it myself for less than $80) They "could have ruined the engine" after using the wrong tool, despite me warning them about said tool? Check! Would I recommend them? "ABSOLUTE"LY NOT! Two stars only because they were just honest enough to tell me how they were ripping me off as they were doing it, when it was already too late to go somewhere else for less or have them stop.

i went there TWICE and TWICE they didn't helped me! first time they said they couldn't change 4 tires (i already had it in my trunk) they said they already had a lot of people coming first. and the second time i went to replace a radiator, they looked at it and gave a lot of excuses to not fix it, even said they couldn't fit a radiator there because the car went it an accident, c'mon i replaced it after all alone by my self, it means IT IS NOT EVEN HARD TO DO.... both times i did the job BY MY SELF!! i've put tires on with a special tool i bought on Amazon, AND i replaced my radiator BY MY SELF because the auto shop couldn't do the job! .... they have no capacity to attend costumers so i went there and both times

Always upfront, always professional. They send you your entire inspection via email before starting work and don't get pushy about non-essential repairs. I have 2 things right now that I really don't need done, no questions, just accepted my answer and performed the rest of the job.

Scott and team have earned my praise and continued business time and time again for 10 years now (since moving to the area). It’s not just their incredible work that impresses me but their organization, efficiency, fair pricing, and care for not only the car/their work, but the car owner as well. Unfortunately, I had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to my car this time - Scott was professional from start to finish, explained in detail the work needed and cost factors, including fixing versus buying a new one. He shared recommendations for top safe vehicles, as well as other appreciated guidance throughout the processes. Always grateful for Scott and his team. Their knowledge, skill, and care. Absolute Auto is a place you can trust to do right by you and your car.

I have brought my car here a few times now and they are always fantastic. They have an online reservation system, and they are courteous and communicative. Nice waiting area if you are waiting for your service.

I highly recommend Absolute Auto for everyone (including neurodivergent people!) They are honest & reliable people. The typical cockiness that you tend to see in male-dominated fields is not something you will see in this shop. They are confident in their expertise but also humble and they uphold their duty to educate their customers on issues that arise instead of speaking in advanced technical terms and pressuring immediate decisions so you spend money unnecessarily. I’ve come to them a few times now for my Elantra and they are welcoming and professional. I typically feel anxious in scenarios where I need to pay anyone for a service but they have always been forthcoming about what to expect and will tell me if something could be an issue in the future but doesn’t need to be prioritized immediately. Trust is important in building a rapport with the community and they certainly have that in me!

After searching for a mechanic to evaluate my car for the umpteenth time I stumbled onto Absolute Auto in Fitchburg. They were able in a few hours to do what none of the others were able to do in a year and a half. Let me know the car is crap. They are completely reliable, very strait forward, competent and timely at getting appointments. I'm extremely fortunate to have found them.

Several weeks back we were in a jam. We were in the middle of a multi-day drive and our car had been making a disturbing noise we couldn't figure out and we feared the worst. Absolute Auto went out of their way to fit us in and take a look at our car. It turned out it was a minor problem, just something loose that was banging around. We were so grateful for the help we probably would have paid just about anything without a second thought but what they charged us was so incredibly fair that when they told us how much it would be I honestly got goosebumps from the feelings of gratitude for their help and their honesty. Like I said, this was several weeks back. We haven't had any problems or heard that weird noise again since. Unfortunately we don't live anywhere near Fitchburg, but if we did there is no doubt in my mind that Absolute Auto is the only place I would ever take my car for repairs or servicing again.

Honestly, You went above and beyond for me to get my car fixed so that, I could get to my Doctor's appointment on Monday at 3pm .. You guys had it done before we all had expected... Fantastic Job... I'm new to the area and like to take really good care of my car, so when my rear brakes started making a scary noise, I panicked a bit! I looked online for a reputable auto repair shop and was immediately referred to Absolute Auto Repair Center. Making an appointment was super easy and convenient. When I arrived on the morning of my appointment, the staff was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. They had my car diagnosed in a few hours, explained everything they found simply and in a way that felt accessible to me (because I know nothing about cars!), and had it fixed within the same day. I will definitely be coming back for all of my car needs!

We rolled in at the very end of the day on the recommendation of our B&B because we had a horrible rattling that we were worried would derail our vacation. They fit us in with a smile. Checked out our car and repaired it at a price we couldn't believe. We left feeling our vacation and our faith in humanity had been saved! If I could move this place down the street from me I would.

I've been taking my Volkswagen Jetta to Absolute Auto for almost 5 years now and I've had nothing but great experiences with them. Special shout out to Scott who I always get great customer service from, he explains everything in detail, let's me know my options, calls and texts with updates, and more importantly what needs to get done and what can wait. Will be returning for all of my many maintenance needs!

Do not go to this garage, never have your inspection done there. I took my car today, the guys invented a defect, failed my car and even came to offer me the repair service. I took it to 3 different garages in the city and all 3 told me that it was impossible to fail because of that. Do not take it there, do not trust them, they are not honest. They will create problems to get your money. I have lived in Firchburg for 10 years and this was the first place I went there because I live nearby, that was my biggest mistake. Now I am going to have it repaired somewhere else, which charged me 3 times less and bring it back to do the inspection again. I repeat, do not take your cars to this garage for inspection or any other service. .

Thanks to the entire team at Absolute Auto. It's rare to find a trustworthy and fair mechanic these days. From a clean shop to a kind, well spoken organized crew this Auto shop is doing the small things correctly. River Brothers up the street told me I had a light out last year, when I know I didn't, in order to receive my inspection sticker. I felt dirty after levaing that facility. They were not honest, and seemed sketchy at best. Today, start to finish with Absolute was smooth, professional and quick. Checked in, paid, mechanic inspected and had car back to me in less than 15 minutes. I would, and will be using Absolute Auto in the future. Updated review. The wrong tires were put on my vehicle, albeit they fixed the issue when putting on the new tires they didn't balance the 2nd pair of tires put on. Led to a shakey ride. So, now I had to come back for a 3rd visit to recitify issue(s). Things happen and I understand that, but this morning I felt obligated to update my review. I had an 8 am appointment that was scheduled through the new call service. No one still at the shop at 830 for a lug nut tighten (less than 5 mins in and out) I'm a patient person, but communication somewhere here needs some fine tuning here. Call service said I would get call from a manager, never did. Overall average experience from start to finish. Good work when done correctly, great manager, and great # 1 worker. After that though a lot of mistakes and being over a half hour plus late to work shows little respect and disregard for the customer.
