15 dollars for a bag of two 5 BELOW sprays is absurd, last trip to this "thrift" store. Greed at it's finest.

I understand that thrift stores can't guarantee the functionality of secondhand appliances or electronics they sell, but what's the point of selling things that don't even TURN ON? Today I bought an instant pot only to bring it home and find out it doesn't even turn on, now I'm out almost $40 because they don't accept exchanges on appliances. It would be one thing if it just didn't work well, but no one plugged this in ONE TIME before slapping the price tag on it and putting it out for sale? The sad thing is they used to have reasonable prices so taking a risk felt worth it, but in the last few years most things are WILDLY overpriced. When you buy something broken it just stings more that you spent so much on it, it's not worth the gamble. It is at least usually very clean inside and the people working the front registers are nice. But I can no longer justify going there with such insane prices.

I found this store mid 2025. I scored a lot of great items. Some things seemed overpriced, but others were still reasonable. Since the new year, prices are ridiculous. I saw an employee look up a product online and pull it from the shelf to reprice it. They are running the store like an antique shop instead of a thrift store. There is no room for resellers anymore. That being said, the staff is friendly, and the space is well kept. If you are looking for something, just expect to pay what you might pay at Ross Dress for Less next store.

This place is very hit or miss, but my biggest complaint is that there are no short sleeve shirts or blouses for women. ONLY long sleeved, modest wear. Men of course have all styles. Would love to see a section for ladies shirts other than "old lady blouses". It was the same way during the summer. Outside of this, there's tons of shein listed for $8+ which is insane, and quality verses price is very hit or miss. If items have any tag regardless of quality or stains/defects, they are guaranteed to be $15-30. There was faux leather jacket with fabric rot listed for $29.99 the last time I was there last week. I have found some great appliances, and the staff is friendly. I just wish they would not throw away any woman's top that isn't ultra modest or a sweater.

I went on Tuesday, January 20 when members get 25% off looking for a blazer, white shirt, jeans and skirt which I found and so much more. I ended up with a barely worn J. Crew blazer for $6.97 along with multiple skirts, blouses and jeans and the total was under $80.00 which was pretty good to me. I stopped thrifting years ago because I was getting addicted. Here I go again. Oh the store is very clean, well organized and the employees are friendly.

Sold a lamp that blew every circuit breaker of whatever electrical line it was connected to, and to salt the injury... did not approve a refund request, AND disputed the chargeback I initiated with my credit line. Waste of 67 dollars, do not come here, unless you would like to burn your wallet or your house down.

I thought that thrift stores were supposed to be affordable? You would think prices would be normal like 5$ 7$, no. Everything is 13$+. I see jackets in there that would sell for no more than 30$ going for more than 60. Keep in mind they are getting these clothes for free. It’s insane, do not visit 2nd avenue thrift stores and go to a goodwill.

Very overpriced and low-quality inventory. I saw two 4X6 frames from Target priced at $8, Madewell jeans with a small hole near the crotch for $17, and a medium-sized ceramic bowl for $10. Not accessible pricing whatsoever.

Was previously the best thrift store in the game - a lot of inventory that's organized well - especially the clothing (until the shoppers mess everything up, of course). You can also bank on them having some good quality pieces of whatever you're shopping for. This is definitely the place to go if you're looking for a specific article of clothing (instead of just browsing to see what a thrift store may have). Only downside is that the place gets packed - even more so on weekends. Prices are on par with the other major thrift stores - which honestly feels a bit high lately, but it's still much cheaper than buying new. Update: minus 2 stars because they removed their fitting rooms. It's not fair to ask people to buy something with no return policy without letting them try it on first.

People should know before going here that their return policy is somewhat predatory. There are no dressing rooms, but I went ahead and purchased items after being told by an associate that I could return them if they didn't fit. They didn't and when I returned I was told that they could not be returned for cash or for store credit, only exchanged for other items. I want to stress that everyone I spoke to was super friendly, but to have no dressing rooms, such a limited return policy (which I did not see communicated in any overt or obvious way at checkout), and your associates misrepresenting that policy when directly asked is frustrating beyond words. I feel like 2nd Ave basically stole $65 from me.

I will no longer come here. No fitting rooms, OVERPRICED items. You are better off going to Marshall’s for new items that are the same price or even cheaper. 2ND AVE IS A GREEDY DISASTER

I visited 2nd Avenue Thrift in Columbia on 10/11/25, planning just to browse. Instead, I came home with almost a full winter wardrobe! The prices were great, the 50% off sale made it even better, and I learned so much about thrifting. The staff was kind, helpful, and friendly, and even other shoppers shared tips. Hats off to the manager—your team made me want to come back. This was a wonderful experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I’ve been shopping here for years. Currently everything is way overpriced nearly double what it was a year ago. This is very interesting considering absolutely everything in here you’ve received for free. It’s very disappointing considering some people are priced out of regular stores and this is their option. Quality is also way down. Lots of SHEIN and Walmart clothes or things that are badly damaged and stained. Everyone there is nice and kind but how disappointing that you’ve taken the Goodwill path and decided to be greedy.

It’s so sad because I always come here, but won’t be coming here anymore. I spend so much money for my online shop and my personal needs. Sadly, that’s done. The women here have a habit of profiling certain people and it’s very uncomfortable. Again, I’ve bought plenty of items from here, even some that were way over priced, but I like the convenience and they do have cute stuff. Not anymore. Tired of feeling uncomfortable in this store. Will take my business elsewhere!

Plenty of parking. The place is huge. Prices are very reasonable. Lots of fine employees keeping the place neat. Discounts on different days and for seniors. We never walk out of there empty handed.

Decent thrift store, a ton better than the goodwill in Columbia. Right next to Ross. There is plenty of space in the parking lot to park. I was able to find a few things even though I was not necessarily looking for anything. This place is especially good if you are looking for toys and clothing for small children. There are lots of self-checkout stations which is nice. The main problem I had with this store is they do not accept donations at this center. You need to go to the Laurel location in order to donate anything. They do not accept apple pay.

This place has always been great when shopping. Myself and family have been going to this location for many years. We have been loyal customers from the beginning and we even knew the nice lady manager that use to run this location. Huge Noticeable changes has been the prices. Example a used bike for $300.00. Previous years at this location. I have seen better bike pricing at the most $25-$150.00. That’s just one example. I am still a loyal customer but I noticed more retail pricing on items. I just wanted to let others know. Thanks in advance!

the jewelry finds here go so crazy. good stuff clothing wise yes, but the jewelry & other accessories like bags & shoes stood out to me. if you like unique jewelry definitely try here.

very clean and organized. the only issue i have is when thrift stores mark up prices (see my pic below for reference)

I used to ride for this thrift store like it was my hometown football team. I was in here weekly, sometimes daily, finding gems, deals, and the occasional haunted porcelain doll. But recently?? Somebody’s mama got promoted to head of pricing and lost her mind. I walked in and nearly passed out… $19.99 for a crusty, half eaten broom in a vase?? $9.99 for a mug that says “World’s Okayest Dad” with a chip in it?? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?! It’s like someone sprinkled holy water on these donations and decided they were blessed artifacts. “Jesus wore this flannel in 1992” energy. I saw a scratched-up Target frame priced HIGHER than it was when it was new at Target! I checked! Unless these jeans come with a handwritten note from Levi himself, I will not be paying $24.99 for secondhand denim. No ma’am. Bring back the prices from the good ol’ days, before someone’s auntie started watching too much Antiques Roadshow. I’m mourning the old 2nd Ave. RIP to the real ones.

This is a great location, excellent parking with handicap accessibility. They have a large inventory of items for the entire family. Great prices also. Highly recommended.

Used to be really awesome for deals, but I see now that they are jacking up prices to the point of ridiculous, just like Goodwill. $15 for a well worn Under Armour zip up $20 for filthy shoes. But THIS is the icing on the cake: attempting to sell literal trash, like this empty kitty litter bucket for $6. It's just ludicrous. I get trying to make a profit, but these items are donated so it's 100% profit and the least they could do is put crap like this in the recycling can and not on the shelves. They've also removed the fitting rooms, which is a HUGE inconvenience and they make you pay for bags if you don't bring your own. Otherwise, you have to carry things out in your hands because the shopping carts can't go out the doors.

Great finds, 25% off on Tuesdays and varied discounts on specific color tags during the week including Tuesday. Organized store with a huge selection and I was able to find high end items for a fraction of the cost! A good example of that is a cashmere hat that goes for 90 bucks new and it still had the tags on it. It was labeled to sell for 5 bucks but I got it for even less because of the discount. So worth the time I spent browsing!

First time in this store. The store was clean, shelves and merchandize were well organized. Even the shoes, books, cds and DVDs were neatly arranged. Good variety of items available. Got a few nice items at reasonable prices. They got a unique style of displaying jeans and other clothing. The store really spent a lot of time organizing things. If you’re patient and lucky enough you’ll find great items people overlooked. Overall great thrift store

My spot! As u can see by the pic. People are serious about getting here early for Mondays sale. I get my son's clothes here he's, growing so fast. I can always find something here that looks new and brand name. Clothing, houseware, toys, jewelry, furnishings, shoes like crazy. They have it all! You can also become a member & get points for discounts. Don't leave Columbia without stopping here BEFORE you go to the big retail stores.I found out that the 2nd Ave in Laurel accepts donations so this is a good way to sustainably recycle and save. Been here several times. It's always extremely clean and organized. There's a huge selection of quality items. Today everything was 50% off except white tag (new items), so the place was packed and the line went across the store.

When you walk in be sure and check the TV screen for Today's discount tags. They always have something that I was looking for. Staff is very nice, and the line to cash out moves very quickly.
