Terrible, paid $220 for an alignment and diagnostic and they said it wasn't able to be aligned bc the new parts were out of correct positions...which is why I brought it there and nothing got accomplished. Very poor skill level, no knowledge.
i received a coupon for synthetic oil change and tire rotation. I believe it was $36.95. Great deal! Made a reservation to get the oil change and tire rotation.
The young lady at the front desk was great and the technician were very nice and engaging. The price did not include the filter or disposal or the old oil nor the shop supplies. The great deal ended up being the tire rotation for free and oil change was exactly what I paid at VIP. For he last oil change.
Why 4 stars? Because I really like the young lady at the front desk and the techs.

I went in for an inspection, and an alignment, I was told by the lady manager it would be about an hr 30. 4 hrs later. It was done.She handed me my bill. (I had a 20$ coupon) plus I get a 10% discount for being a teacher. Was told y it didn't pass. I wanted clarification on some things. She called her manager I spoke with him on the phone when speaking to him on the phone he coped the biggest attitude said "well you know what I am now adjusting your bill and your not getting both the 20$ off & your teaching discount you cant use both" "I said "umm NO your not now going to reprint me a new bill because I asked you questions " I have been to a place that ur not allowed to use a coupon & then my general discount for being a teacher or military or what. Are you kidding me!!!! This place was so rude she hid out back in the garage or in a office most of the time. A lady that was also in there left because she was rude to her and wouldn't do the work under warranty for her.
Do NOT go to Augusta Maine. I was told by hire up they would deal with these 2 but I doubt they did.
Took my car there to have it inspected. Came out with it being rejected and it needed new brakes all around and rotors not to mention it also needed a new lower arm bar on the right and new tires. However 3200.00 was not the price I can afford. Took it to another shop and for them to do all of the work needed was only 600.00. Im no mechanic by far but the prices were ridiculous.
I recently went to this Meineke location for a service and was extremely disappointed to be charged almost $40 in fees just for using my debit card. I have never experienced such a high fee for a regular payment method. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and left me feeling taken advantage of. I would not recommend this location.
I have all my repairs and inspections performed at this facility for over five years. They have helped me keep the twenty year old Subaru I love running … have mechanics who take the time to explain what they have done and why … and charge a fair price for doing so. I Recommend them highly.
The people that work at Meineke were very kind to me. Too bad their Boss that sold me the car was not as kind. I bought the car from Limric Auto who is the President of Meineke in Augusta. I had the car 5 days and it broke down in Waterville. To make a long story short I was told to call Road Side Services on the warranty. And have the vehicle towed to Meineke in Augusta. So the warranty did not cover the entire bill so I had to pay $84.55 out of my own pocket. I had to take out every penny I had from my account along with borrowing $35.00 from my daughter. Well I purchased my vehicle and 5 days later it breaks down and I have to pay the tow charge? Where I'd that fair ? I gave Limric Auto Sales my old car, $800 cash and he still has to take money from me for something that was Not my fault. He sold me a bad car and yet I have to pay anyway...NOT FAIR...
Had me come in to tell me they don't install aftermarket exhaust. They couldn't tell me that on the phone when I made the appointment? I get there and they lift/look under my car and say 'that looks new'. After I have talked about doing a straight exhaust into aftermarket muffler. They were so confused about basic exhaust plans... lady at the counter was nice
Im from out of state and Meineke made me feel comfortable. They answered any questions I had and took care of my services in a timely manner. I definitely recommend them.
My son and I dropped his car off for a loud exhaust that had developed a couple days earlier. We asked for a quote to fix the exhaust noise. They contacted us and he was told that the exhaust was (and I quote) "pretty much the worst case scenario" being told every part of the exhaust needed replacement including a new catalytic converter that had holes in it. In addition the brakes were inspected and it will need those as well. The exhaust work was 2500 and the brake work another 600. I found this quite suspect and told my son to bring it to another garage to have it looked at first. They charged him just over $130 to provide the quote for the work they said needed to be done.
He called another garage and long story short it cost him $550 for the repair. The mechanic told us it required a piece of flex pipe and two two minor repairs. He said the catalytic converter was fine and the exhaust was 100% serviceable after the repair. We asked him to look at the brakes and he said they could be done if we wanted but they were inspectable and safe and he would be fine until the car needs its next inspection.
I stopped back by Meineke and asked why they told us the exhaust was in need of full replacement when this is not the case. They guy behind the counter had no good answer for me. I asked for the 130 plus dollar hourly labor charge they wacked my son for be refunded. He refused and reccomended I speak with the owner as he had no authority to do that. I told him an hourly labor rate is fair IF you receive an honest quote and we would have done the work there if it was a reasonable representation of the work needing to be done.
I am concerned that they have no interest in providing a repair only a full replacement. These options were not even considered and they wanted to charge for replacement of servicable parts. If someone on a limited income had come in for work thinking they would get a fair shake this is not the case. These guys have the Meineke sign showing it's an established national chain. They also have a Maine State Inspection license on the wall indicating they should know what is inspectable and safe and what is not. I think a complaint to the Attorney Generals Office and State Police Inspection unit is probably warranted. Stay clear of Meineke on State St in Augusta. They will try to rip you off.
Had my Ford flex in the other day to get a brake line repaired service was absolutely amazing. Brian was incredible. There was a young lady who drove me to where I wanted to be dropped off. She was great, sent me pictures of all parts of my car. Even though they did not require repair, I could not recommend you higher.
This is my new go to auto repair. They are professional, friendly, polite, efficient, and honest! They will not perform repairs that are not needed, even though I thought I might need brakes, they determined my brakes were still ok. It is also easy to get in for an appointment. Nice to have a reliable mechanic available when I need one. Thank you!
Called to get an inspection done and they fit me in right away. There were a couple repairs needed, one was done day of, and the other was scheduled within a few days. They're a welcoming group and explained everything going on with my car along with providing pictures and estimates. Pricing is fair with work being done in a quick manner. I'm a harsh judge of customer service, but this was top notch quality. I would hands down recommend this place to anyone and will be back in the future.
Called 5 different places for a state inspection and they were all booked over a week out. Saw Meineke online and they were able to get me in next day, got my inspection done in a half hour and was out the door. Great service and everyone was friendly.
I brought my truck in due to an exhaust noise that I believed to be a failing catalytic converter. The manager and technician were extremely attentive and helpful, and spent almost 45 minutes, including driving the vehicle, to try and help diagnose the issue. In the end, it was recommended to wait a bit more time to get a conclusive diagnosis before throwing thousands of dollars in parts to try and fix it.
And on top of the already great service, there was no charge for their time and labor. Geeeez!
I will certainly be returning here for repair if/when this exhaust rattle finally reveals it's source! Thanks so much for providing a level of service that is rare to find these days.

Going here is a no brainer. These guys fix things right the first time, never overcharge or take advantage of customers and keep you updated all through the process. Tim is the best and will take the time to walk you through things and make sure you know what’s going on with your vehicle. There doesn’t seem to be a mechanical issue they can’t fix. I’d give 10 stars if google would let me.
I went here because my car wasn’t blowing heat and was occasionally overheating. The mechanic checked it out thoroughly and drove it. Added coolant to my radiator and let me know that I had no leaks and suspected it was the heater core. Things were priced out and I was given realistic answers. They didn’t try to swindle me or try to get me to fix anything I already knew about. They were straightforward and honest and extremely kind. I appreciate the help this shop gave me and I will be back for my other repairs. Thank you guys for working with integrity. A lot of shops lack that.

I highly recommend you avoid this Meineke. My wife and I brought our truck to Farmingdale VIP in the morning for an inspection - they told us it needed muffler and brake work and recommended Meineke for the muffler work. We thought the brake work quote from VIP was high, so we went to this Meineke and spoke to Rod behind the counter. We explained CLEARLY that the truck just failed inspection, we knew it wouldn't pass until we had a light on the dash we needed to tend to before it could, but meanwhile we asked them to do a patch on the muffler and give us a quote on rear brakes. That was it. We never once asked for an inspection. He asked to see our registration, which I gave him figuring he needed the VIN, and my signature for the keys I gave him. We left to go shopping with our other vehicle.
Rod called and said the patch wouldn't work, and the section they would need to replace was $700. The brake quote came in at $150 more than VIP. I told him we would have to talk over what direction we wanted to go, and meanwhile we would pick up the truck.
We arrived to Rod gone and apparently the owner (see photo) behind the counter. My wife went in and said she was there to pick up the truck. He said that will be $12.50 for the failed inspection. She said we did not ask to have the truck inspected as we had just had it done at VIP. We asked for a quote to get it fixed. He said "my guys don't work for free." So my wife came out and got me.
I walked in, he gave me the paper and said "you signed right here." I said I signed but nothing was on the paper when I signed it. I didn't ask for an inspection, I asked for a quote. He said "my guys don't work for free." I went back and explained that we wanted a brake quote, not the brakes inspected. My wife reiterated "we never asked for an inspection" and then he blew up, yelling "GET OUT!" We looked at each other absolutely bewildered, like "is this really happening? Are we in an alternate universe?" She said are you really going to call the police on me? His worker, hanging in the doorway, then chimed in "you're criminally trespassing." My wife, being a retired police officer, reiterated, bewildered "you're really going to call the police for THIS...?" He screamed again, "GET OUT!" So now she's outside and I'm left with an obviously angry, emotionally unstable man a counter away from me.
I was calm, and tried to again explain the scope of why we came in. When I added the muffler part, he accused me of changing my story! I said I'm not changing anything, I just came here to give you my business, but now I just want to pay $12.50 to never have to step foot in a Meineke again!
He continued to try to start something with me, and all I kept trying to do was PAY HIM. The kicker was this: he handed me keys and I left calmly. I couldn't help but laugh hysterically with my ostracized wife when I held up the keys and realized he had, in his tirade, given me someone else's keys!
I walked back in and was kind, joking that while I would probably love the car attached to the keys he gave, they were not mine. And then he told me to have a nice day as I left with the proper keys.
And now I'm sitting here at home wondering what the living hell just happened in Augusta, Maine. Save yourself while you can!
PS...No one, man or woman, should EVER be yelled at the way he did to my wife. So if you are a woman, you should avoid this business. If you are a man, you should also avoid this business.
