We've been to Kirkpatrick's a handful of times in the last couple of years and have always had a great experience with them. Their hourly rate for diagnosing and making repairs is much more reasonable than any other mechanic we 've been to for our car. On two occasions that we had work done here, they gave us a price quote that was more than we were budgeting for (which has nothing to do with them, repairs aren't cheap sometimes) but on both occasions they found after-market parts that were less expensive, gave us revised price quotes, and still came in under the quoted price by more than a hundred dollars.
I trust them and don't get the impression that they are taking advantage of the customer's lack of knowledge or price gouging the way so many other mechanics do. They go the extra mile with their work and make sure their customers feel taken care of. I wish more mechanics were like Kirkpatrick's.
I have been coming to this garage for approximately 20 years. Recently had a failed State inspection and my truck needed work, which is expected for something 12 years old.
Unfortunately, when I requested a quotation for repairs needed for passing inspection I was denied a quote and was given a refusal to work on my vehicle due to Fluid Film undercoating on the underside of truck.
Bummer because I only trust a few mechanics locally and this was my favorite garage. Customer loyalty is important to me but unfortunately I need to find a new garage.
Customer service and attitude there has depleted over the years Im sad to say. Five years ago he willing to bailout a DIY mechanic if you started a repair but you couldnt finish due to unforeseen issues. Which was very unusual because not many garages tolerate that, however that is no longer the case.
If Stefan is willing to work on your vehicle he does do outstanding work.
If your vehicle has an annual undercoating to avoid rust and rot you will need to find a new garage or look somewhere else.
I've had all my vehicles repaired at Kirkpatricks for over 20 years. I have never received anything but integrity and top notch quality work. The work is always done right and the price is always fair. I won't go anywhere else and feel confident my referral will be upheld with quality work. Highly recommend.
Steffan, Jake and Mike are always professional and friendly. They do excellent work and they tell you exactly what you can expect. I have been going there for decades and you can always rely on their work. If they say they are going to fix it- It will be fixed. And they do not try to run up the price. They charge the going rate. They are fair, honest and do excellent work. Also, they have some pretty good jokes if you tell them a good one!
I have been coming to family owned business for many years. As a woman bringing my cars in for service I have always been treated with the upmost dignity and respect. The service has been completed timely, and the cost of repairs always fair.
Recently got an oil change here, and the business is super professional and the mechanics know exactly what they are doing! Gladly will do business again!
Predatory business practices designed to waste your money. Nov 28 I called for exhaust repair and informed them I had a rusted out flange that would need to be cut and welded. They said "We'll see.". Fine, they dont know me. Two weeks later I drop it off, say the same thing and get a call later that day that it's going to be $1425 to replace pipes and a catalytic converter. The cat wasn't bad, it was just on the other end of the bad flange and that's when I was informed they DO NOT weld and I owe $50 for the evaluation. Why wouldn't they tell me at either of the chances they had, that they don't do the work I needed? I called another independant shop, they took me two days later and the total cost was $47.50. The repair cost me less than Kirkpatricks evaluation. I'm a State worker right down the road and I tell coworkers, friends and family to use Kirkpatricks. Now I will be saying the opposite. Hopefully my $50 lesson will save someone else $1400.
Stephan and his amazing team have been so good to us over the years, and I've been meaning to leave them a well-deserved five stars for a long time. Best in Augusta, hands down.
My parents' Honda truck broke down while on vacation in Maine. It had to be towed and a friend recommended Kirkpatrick's. We were scheduled to leave within 3-days (out of state) of the issue and the service at Kirkpatrick's has been nothing but perfect! The staff are friendly, timely, courteous and professional. Their truck needed a new starter and the staff even apologized that it had to be brand new (vs a rebuilt one). I would recommend Kirkpatrick's to anyone needing service! Been going to kirkpatricks for little over a year for general maintenanace. The guys are the counter are friendly courteous. Prices are reasonable, and are pretty quick. I leave my car during the day and it's done before they close.

They have always been more than fair in their prices, and exceptional in their work. Father, Gary, and now son, Stephan, have always been there for us whenever we've had a problem. They are courteous, friendly, and like family. If something could wait a little, or didn't require any attention, they're not afraid to tell you. Always a pleasure to do business with. We have two cars we take to Kirkpatrick's for regular service, and it has always been good. Though we do not have the many years of experience of some who have posted here (only moved to Maine in 2017), we can say "So far, so good," and I expect to continue having Kirkpatrick's service these cars. I like being able to patronize a good independent garage rather than always being at the mercy of dealerships.

My wife’s Murano was having issues so she called our regular garage and was told because they were behind and had a bunch of post office vans to service they wouldn’t be able to get her in for at least two weeks probably longer. She called me to let me know, and I can tell you I was not impressed at all. We had been loyal to them and spent a lot of money there. We couldn’t wait that long and they didn’t seem to care that her car was pretty much inoperable as it was skipping and did not have good power.
I decided to call Kirkpatrick’s because my mother in law takes her car there and she had told us they were very satisfied with their work. They got us in the very next day without hesitation or excuses about being busy. The mechanic worked late so our car would be ready to go the next day. That impressed me and convinced me we will be taking all our business to them moving forward. I will recommend them to all my friends and family from here on out.

We have had our vehicles serviced for years at Kirkpatrick's. I wouldn't really trust any other mechanics and front desk people. No extra expenses, just what is needed, although recommendations can be, and are made, if/when something is found. I hate it when I have to go to another place for something! I would highly, highly, recommend them for you vehicle service needs!
