Chad is one of the most amazing people on the planet. Honestly. I go here for almost any of my car needs. The've fixed so many things on my car (all of which were the result of my ex, not me) including brakes, exhaust, ECU, transmission, and probably more. Inspection is $12.50. Can't beat that. Love these guys and won't go anywhere else as long as I live in Augusta.

I do NOT recommend this place at all. I went in for an state inspection, and they tried to charge me $1,500 for something they claimed was damaged — when in reality, nothing was damaged. Thankfully, I did not let them move forward or charge me. To be safe, I went to saco IVP place to get a second opinion, and they confirmed that everything was perfectly fine. They even completed the state inspection for only $12.50 This experience felt extremely dishonest and misleading. It seems like this pair of crooks are trying to charge me into paying for unnecessary repairs. My advice: before going to this place, go somewhere else first. Save your money and avoid the stress. They even charge me 15.90 to install just one license plate when I just need a screwdriver to do it myself. Because i came with one license plate installed

My roomy went in for a sticker . She was told she needs a lower ball joint and should buy the lower control arm when they said bushings were fine anyway .Control arm with ball joint ,their charge $ 455.65 plus$ 158.60 labor . On the same invoice for same ball joint it self $ 135.60 and $ 158.60 labor . She is a woman mind you . So total tally for 1 said ball joint , they were going to charge her $ 908.40 before tax for 1 said ball joint . I can get that same ball joint for under $ 30 and less 3/4 hr labor . I've been a mechanic for over 40 yrs . Stay the hell away from this place . Right there in black and white . I know how to read an invoice .

Brought it in Thursday, had a quote by end of day, and it was fixed ahead of schedule on Friday. Chad was friendly and explained the problem and solution clearly. First class service.

Wont work on my car and told to go away.was referred to them bye a customer and she says she will stop going there as well. They where rude and disrespectful. Male about 5ft 6ish brown hair was told to go away both times bye them. They will be loosing the 4 that referred me and not gaining mine. I would not recommend coming to this location but highly recommend auburn location.

Extremely kind, helpful, thorough. My first time coming here for a state inspection. They will be my new go to!

I don't usually run into any problems with these guys. I've had a charge on my bill that I didn't approve of and know for a fact that the service had zero to do with what I came in for. I used to be a service writer at a shop and can this advice to anyone and everyone. Before you pay, look at your bill. Gripe if you need to, it's your money! But these guys are cool for the most part!

Very professional, polite on the phone and they got me in for my inspection right away. I had to reschedule and they were fine with it, no attitude at all. Their office is clean and their appearance was neat and friendly. I will definitely go back.

Had an Inspection done here which they stickered up pretty quickly… 2 days after-the-fact, I find out that I need new rear rotors and brakes. This job should have been done at Maine Auto Service before they put the sticker on it, how they stickered the vehicle is beyond me!

On vacation in Maine from Ohio. Stop to get a Battery for car. Man was very nice and checked battery. Said it was good. We had left it set 3 days and GPS must have stayed on. Needed a jump to get started again. He could have told us we needed a Brand new Battery but he was very honest. If I ever need anything again I will go there.

Love this place. Super friendly. Treated me with respect and dignity . Most places treat me like an idiot who knows nothing about cars. These guys don't. Willing to to explain things in detail so that you feel comfortable with any decisions you make with your vehicle repairs. They understand times are tough and truly work hard to find the cheapest most efficient way to do your repair. If you need something small to pass inspection, they'll do it right there and won't charge you for a full appointment. Also love that they have a "guarantee" on their work , 3 months for labor and 12 months for any parts not built in shop. (If I'm remembering that correctly) . Will continue to be a customer for any future needs !

Bunch of losers charged us $11 bucks to put our new state tags on the truck after I just paid to fix it to get a state inspection sticker. All I needed was a screw driver could’ve done it myself . Won’t be back

I have been taking my cars here for several years and the work has been very satisfactory. The manager and the other people working there are straightforward and friendly.

We were able to get a quick appt for a State Inspection. The guy out front was very friendly and they were all courteous and professional.

They are a long standing business, do state inspections, seem trustworthy. Have had work done once, but I do think they try to upsell you. I know it's a common practice, but it sets a tone of "can I trust?" That being said, so far, so good. Good work.

Nice manager, knowledgeable, helpful, got an oil change and tire rotation. Actually had staff working, and didnt have to wait for over 30 minutes just to be put on a list to get car worked on.

I went in with shudder while breaking. Was told I needed breaks and rotors all the way around. As well as a rear left caliper. While working on my car I watched the mechanic re use the old “junk” break shoe from that rear left caliper on the rear right side, my guess is the mechanic messed up the guide pins. A week passes and my abs light comes on with a wheel sensor on the rear left tire. Come to find out the mechanic who serviced the car failed to clip the wire onto the frame and the wheel ended up fraying the wire. Fast forward even more, after being quoted 400$ to redo my front breaks and rotors. I ended up doing them myself for 130$ (thank you advance auto service) to find a newly split ball joint on the lower front right side. If anything this place has cost me more time and more money than any other garage I’ve been to. The mechanic nearly put the tire back on without bleeding the new caliper. I don’t even have my certification and I knew better. If you look at the work post completion you will see the rear has more wear, and most likely didn’t even have the anti vibe clips installed as recommended by the manufacture. If you can do it yourself, I highly recommend it. You will save time and money. Most of all stress is self inflicted at this point. Sadly the managers and owners do all they can to keep the customer happy and still have to deal with said mechanics ruining reputations

I went to here to get an inspection done, I watched the manager walk under my car and sand down the interior of my tires. About 10 minutes after the individual working on my car told me to come look so he could show me something, sure enough he said my tires needed to be changed because of the tread was worn down on the inside of the tires. I asked him how much it would be to replace and then he proceeded to tell me they can replace all 4 of them just for $500 dollars and replace a few other things and my car can pass inspection. This place is horrible and just trying to take money from you!

Prices are more than fair, and posted right on the wall for you to see so no quessing. Service was fast and friendly. Their professionalism was obvious, as was their talent. Will definitely be back.

When I brought my van in last December the "replaced" my power steering pump. Cost me over $700 dollars. Few days later my belt shredded. Brought it back to them. They said there was a chip in the wheel CONNECTED to the pump. If they really did replace they would have noticed it and fixed it then. They still charged me to fix their mistake. I would not bring any vehicle to them.

They overfilled my oil by 1/2-1 quart over. I would have never known if my regular mechanic didn't happen to check it during a repair. However, when I brought it back they fixed it right away.

Smaller garage, but excellent and quick service. You leave knowing if anything is wrong with your vehicle and how to monitor it better. Their website makes for easy appointment making.

UPDATED...friendly enough but.... Went there for a simple welding job on a flexible exhaust pipe. took them 30 min to diagnose the situation. I know it would cost 40 total anywhere in the southern us. took them 1.5 hrs and cost 165 total. The part cost 16 dollars (autozone). it was 2 welds whats the big whoop? UPDATE....(reduced from 2 stars to 1) So I went to get my inspection 2 months later and everything was fine except it was leaking exhaust where Maine Auto had welded it. The guy said they used the wrong type welding rods and so he cut out everything and rewelded it for 30$ in 20 min. I do not recommend this place ever. 2nd update. the manifold cost about $85 online and everything $120 total with all pipes installed at a normal place normal price.

I had my car towed here, I am from out of state and to be fair it is a rust bucket not meant to last me more than the summer to return home in from a job. When I came to pick up my car, I was told it was undrivable and very unsafe by the two employees, and that the manager had gone out to lunch. They showed me the damage, the transmission cooler line had cracked and they were concerned about rust on the lateral control arm of the right rear suspension, and explained that it wasn't worth fixing. While I was considering my options from there, as I had quite a few things in the car, one of the employees came up to me and offered to pay me $100 for it, the price of scrap, which I declined. The manager came and explained to me that repairs would be about $170 and 'it would not make the car any safer, but would make it driveable.' The manager then seemed very concerned with my not wanting the repair done, and was concerned that I had initially asked if I could leave it parked for a bit while I figured out what to do with it. I said I would have it towed when he voiced concern over being 'worried (I) was going to ditch him with the car.' I chose to have my car towed to another shop for a second opinion. Probably a fine place to have simple car work done.

Friendly staff. The advisor lies though. I was told by him that maine auto service has a warehouse network of its own and that there is no chance my special order oil is being sourced from a local auto parts store. He lied about my oil capacity and told me they would use the oil filter i supplied. They used a cheapo oil filter instead of the one i left on my seat as instructed. Techs are friendly though and do not deserve anything bad being said. Chad up front needs to work on communication skills with his staff and with the customer. He does a very poor job talking smoothly, and you don't need to be in the auto business to know when he is ripping you off for his voice breaks down and he will not look you in the eyes. I don't picture him overcoming objections very well. Overall they kind of did what they said, and the car will survive another service interval with the cheapo filter.

They changed out my vehicles control arms and damaged a front bearing in the process. They hinted at being responsible for that but didn't offer any solution or restitution. They also lifted my engine to work on the control arms and caused a small oil leak. Beware!

Best auto service in Augusta in my experience. They seem to work hard, and honest, which is all I ask. Also, really appreciate how they will ask you if you want to take a look while the vehicle is on the lift, and often the technician will tell you eye to eye what the problem is. Hidden gem. Thanks!
