We were looking for a used car, that was well maintained and had a good reputation for reliability. So we found a Toyota Highlander at Charlie's in the wholesale section (which includes anything with more than 110k miles) this car had 114k. Staff was very friendly and greeted us promptly, but not in an over-bearing manner. They brought out the cars we had looked at and let us paw through them until we found what we were looking for. The price was manageable, the service was excellent, they worked around our (and our bank) schedule, and we drove home our new vehicle. Thank you Charlie's!

Service staff at Charlie's is very excellent. They are very friendly when they are helping you. We're kind of new to Charlie's, we have a Mitsubishi that we didn't buy from them but we brought it in to get a new touch screen, because it was on recall and ours didn't work. I'm considering that my next new car will be bought at Charlie's motor malls. Have a good feeling about the service staff. They seem to care about their job and their customers. I want to say thank you to them for helping us. I appreciate them.

It all stated with a call and talked to Cote to see if they still had the car I found online. Best car salesman I have ever dealt with. He treated me with respect and kindness. Every salesman should be just like him. Knowledgeable, caring and a perfect sense of humor.

We recently had one of the cam shafts replaced in my jeep. This was under warranty. After leaving my check engine light came on again. I got it in for another scan to find something else was needed on the camshaft. Part was ordered and put in in a timely manner. When it was test driven, a gasket associated with it was found seeping. I had a very pleasant man call me and ask if they could have it one more day so that could be repaired as well. That was perfect for me. All was covered and we used the shuttle service to pick up the Jeep. I haven't driven it yet, but have no doubt it will drive and sound good.

I’ve had a terrible experience with Charlie's, and I feel like people should be aware of how they get charged at Charlie's Kia service department. I have a 21 Kia Telluride. I have had it serviced exclusively at Charlie's, as well as purchased the vehicle through them. I have had the dash replaced under warranty 4 times, and generally speaking, the experience has been pleasant from a service perspective. However, I have made a few unwarranted trips down to Kia due to bad communication (for instance, making an appointment, finding a sitter, driving there only to find out they didn’t have the part in stock for the work they scheduled), which I won’t even fault them for in this review. My problem namely, is how concerned I am about how they must charge their unknowing customers for repairs. My service engine light was on. My husband got the code which flagged a thermostat issue. We called them up to set up a time to get it looked at. We gave them the code so they knew. They brought it to the shop and called us on 2-13, saying it was in fact the thermostat and it needed to be replaced. They told us it was going to be 900$. They also said they were charging 180$ to diagnose the problem. The same problem we told them over the phone by code. We know they also need to verify it, but they knew it wasn’t under warranty at this point because the vehicle had 66,000 miles on it. Just over the 60k bumper-to-bumper warranty. When we spoke to Ron (service advisor) about this, we asked him to put himself in our shoes. We bought the vehicle from them, we have had it serviced exclusively by them, and we gave them the code they needed to diagnose the issue before we even brought the vehicle. He literally said the words, “I don’t have to deal with this, just take the keys and get out.” We ended up settling on ½ the $180 charge just because neither Ron nor I could 100% remember if he even told me there would be a diagnostic fee if it wasn’t a factory warranty. But honestly, where is the customer appreciation? This is the real problem…. 900$ for a thermostat replacement? Thankfully, my husband was able to replace it himself. It took 21 minutes and ½ a container of antifreeze. That’s including looking for the correct tools to make it happen. 150$ in parts… and 21 minutes of time, you would have charged me over $900 for 21 minutes of work? 3-12mm bolts that you can see as soon as you open the hood, 1 hose clamp, and 1 electrical connection to unhook. I feel so bad for older folks in the area who may not know better or have no other option. If this is how you treat loyal customers, I am concerned about anyone else who walks through that door. Side note: that very same day I was looking at a new Telluride to trade in on at Charlie's. I asked them to treat me right! I’ve been coming to them for service and vehicles for years. They gave me a 16k value trade-in on my vehicle that has a trade-in value of $22,200 and a private sale of of $23,800. Unbelievable. Does Charlie's really need to make 7-10k on a trade in while charging 750$ in labor for 21 minutes' worth of work? (They currently have the next step up from our vehicle, used, with 12k more miles for 30k listed on their site. It's only a $3000 difference in package.) Please be cautious of their business practices, especially you older ones. My warranty and new car sales will go elsewhere from now on.

I recently purchased a used GH. I had looked for months at all types of vehicles. I used Car Gurus. I went to multiple dealer sites. I emailed many people asking for further information about certain vehicles. I ran into some less than honest dealers. When I found what I was looking for at Charlies I sent an inquiry. They responded quickly and professionally. They by far exceeded any and all expectations I had. I am in southern Maine. We have an abundance of dealers within a 100 mile radius. Charlie’s is number one in my book. They are HONEST, FAIR and so easy to work with. They are a 10/10 without a doubt.

The service was great. Drove up got out they took the keys and in less than 1 hour it was done. Quick and Painless. And the lounge was good too, it provided a table that I could work from my laptop and get some stuff donewhile waiting.

We stopped at Charlie’s Chevrolet in Winthrop while en route to other dealerships to look for a bigger vehicle for our growing family, and to see what the trade-in value was on our 2016 Tahoe. Chip was very eager to help us find something that met our requirements. He found a Suburban Z71 that had met our checklist criteria, and Eric worked his magic to make sure it was within our budget. We are very pleased working with both Chip and Eric, and are excited to be a part of the Charlie family. Congrats to Chip on his first sale!

If you have an issue and you bring it to them they work at getting everything worked out. Ron and the mechanical team are awesome. Classic over deliver clients expectations. My Jeep was on the schedule to be seen in a week. They had it diagnosed and repaired in 3 Days. I was offered a shuttle in the 15 mile radius, which is a very nice touch. I was unable to use it because I was out and heading that way already. In 45 years of car ownership, this is one of the best experiences I’ve had at the dealership. I will continue to have my jeep serviced at your Location. Bob LoRusso

Buying a car is not my thing. Recently, I purchased a RAV4 XLE hybrid from Charlie’s Toyota. I have an old 2014 RAV4 XLE and wanted to upgrade to a hybrid. I did my research online, asked my neighbor. They recommended Charlie’s. Immediately called, talked to Sam, made an appointment. From my initial conversation with Sam, I felt that I was heading for the right place. From Sam to sales, Jason, who is very well informed and with his explicit tutorial, I landed with exactly the right car for me. I recommend Charlie’s for their relaxed buying experience, direct and complete, yet with a friendly touch. It was a fun adventure! Next day, I drove my car home. Thanks to Sam, Jason, Jeff and Adam.

The best experience!! Jamie was awesome! Showed me the car I thought I wanted and it wasn’t as I expected then saw ALL their cars and dealerships I kinda froze but I told him what I was looking for in a vehicle and he took me to a Nissan! We took my vehicle in for an inspection sticker...we received a call stating that my vehicle needed new tires for a sticker. We approved that and we also wanted a 4-wheel alignment...they were great. As busy as they were they accomplished that and the vehicle was ready for pick-up. Great group of people that work there! Thank you!

This is a great company that takes care of their customers. I was past my powertrain warranty but less than two years into my 6 year loan. They made it good for me without me having to call BBB or file complaints of any kind I spoke to the Service Manager, we together came up with an arrangement not just for my vehicle to get fixed but also to keep me on the road for my job and my family. Charlies is where I will get all my vehicles, and would recommend them to everyone.

Easy and enjoyable process from response from internet inquiry, to greeting at dealership to the delivery of the vehicle to my house. Jamie one of the Sales Managers was friendly, knowledgeable and a pro from the greeting and entire process. I got to the dealership at 9:40 and the Jeep Mojave was delivered to my home that afternoon at 1:15. Most enjoyable vehicle process in all my years of a purchase. I’m thrilled with my new ride! The sales person, Evan, was very personable and gave me good information. The staff went the extra mile and found a charger for the plug in hybrid however the step ups that were on the (used) vehicle when I test drove it had been removed when I finished the paperwork and went to drive off. I would do business with them again.

What an amazing experience! I was very hesitant as I am NOT a fan of car shopping. Charlie's came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. Every single person we interacted with was professional l, NOT pushy, and human. I drove an hour and a 1/2 , have a Toyota dealerahip close by, that I will attempted to deal with until they were unprofessional and nasty. I ONLY deal with Charlie's going forward, and all service needs there. Great team exceptional service!
