Not sure what is up with this place currently. Not very responsive. Mailbox is always full. When I did reach someone, they said call back in 20mins. I called back in 25 & no one answered. Tried 5 different times.
I miss the older generation of owners.
The service was quick and efficient. I brought my vehicle in for an inspection and found that it needed some extra work. They promptly gave me an estimate and arranged a pick-up time, which they stuck to. I got my car back right on schedule as promised, and all the issues were taken care of just as expected. The pricing was fair considering the high quality of service I received. I would suggest Grimmels Auto to anyone in need of automotive services.
A bunch of crooks they gave me a quarter of what they were supposed to pay. They were supposed to give me .40 a pound of aluminum but they instead payed me .10 all because a few of the the radiators had plastic on them. They also took 90 pounds off the scale. When they were zeroing out the scale they deducted 90 pounds for the weight of the pallet. I caught them and complained but they still took weight off my grand total for each pallet i loaded. Dont do business with them
Took a friend’s car to get an estimate, they kept telling me they would look at it “in the afternoon”, “tomorrow morning” a whole week went by they never look at it.
We didn’t mind to the wait, we just wanted a straight answer about how long and how much. We ended up going a week later and picking up the car without even being looked at. They are rude, irresponsive, and don’t honor their word.
If you are looking for a reliable mechanic, don’t take your car there.
Owner and staff are extremely rude. Swearing and yelling at customers. Definitely overcharge and a few years ago I had a sabb after having just an oil change I picked my car up and my catalytic converters had been cut off and straight piped. Horrible place do not recommend at all.
I highly recommend this garage. Jim, the owner, is an honest, nice guy. His service rates are very reasonable. He'll tell you what is wrong and how much the repair will cost before the work is done. We've been very happy with the work we have had done here. He has worked on my elderly mother's vehicle, my Jeep, as well as my husband Tundra truck. We are very satisfied with the work he has done over the years. Thank you Jim Grimmel!
I did like there service until today! I had gotten my brakes fixed back in August 21 and just a few months later this March 22 they had gone bad! They took my car in to look at it but did not come back out and tell me what was wrong and ask me if I wanted them to fix them or if it was covered by the warranty they came out after they had done all the work on my vehicle and then told me what happen and that it wasn't covered under warranty and that I had to pay them! That is not how you conduct a business if I had the choice I would've brought my vehicle elsewhere where they would've charged much cheaper price! I will not be bringing any business to them anymore I'm extremely disappointed I live with limited income and had to figure out a way to borrow the money so I could get my car back! Horrible experience all the way!
Said I needed brakes and rotors did them my self and car still has noise in the front end they wanted 730 for all brakes and rotors glad I didn’t do it because it wasn’t brakes and rotors
Very unsatisfied 2 and a 1/2 months ago I went in for my sticker had to pay over $3000 worth of work Jim has been given me excuses "He ran out"... He keeps telling me he will give me a call back this morning I tried to call again with never having any angry words with him since the beginning he hung up on me after leaving me on hold for 20 minutes while I was on hold I overheard a very angry customer displeased with Jim's work.... It is so sad to see a businessman end up like this all I'm looking for is my sticker that I paid for I pass my inspection I don't understand why I cannot obtain the sticker to prove it
If you want a reasonable mechanic that's been around for a long time and is well known to the area the I highly recommend Grimmel I was recommended by a friend when I moved to the area now this is wh err te I take my vehicles for my stickers!!
HAHAHAHAHA THEY DELETED MY COMMENT. Do not go to grimmels for anything. I went for an alignment after speding 200 on used studded snows there. THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO THE ALIGNMENT. I went back several times, and finally got a report for the alignment. The back camber was still off so i brought it to town fair and appearently they go through them! They did it for free and did it correctly. Hes a theif, his worker even told me they didnt do the alignment and he comes out all "no no no no, we did it, dont listen to him" tried taking my 79 dollars and shafting me. Beware lewiston businesses folks.
Tried to sell me 4 of the wrong sized tires for $200 mounted . We decided to wait a little to see if he would get the right size in . He wanted to charge me $200 for 2 tires of the right size when I can spend $8 more for brand new tires mounted and balanced. Overall bad experience
He didn't have the tires I wanted after they said they did then put tires on I didn't ask for then charged me a 100.00 after I had to have him take the ones I didn't want off ??? ? never will I go back there again
Terrible! Never going back. Caused me more damage than fix. The worst. He is more interested in making money off you than your safety or the safety of your family. Will be warning others in my family and community to look else where.
Jim Grimmels and his staff are awesome! I can't thank him enough for what he did saved my butt. Had tires in my size mounted. Recommend them extremely highly.
Set my wifes alignment incorrectly by 2 degrees on each wheel, she brought it back, he put 75 psi in the tires and said "its fine dear" and sent her off to chew up her 4 brand new tires. Cost me over $1,000 for someone else to straighten it all out.
The BEST mechanic in town! Friendly people who provide awesome service at great prices! I have taken my antique auto, and my daily driver here more than once, and will continue to.
Friendly, fast service at a great price. The owner was awesome with my step daughter as well! He went into the back office and grabbed a patriots hat and gave it to her. I will come back here again!
I will say I have had a lot of work done there and I always get tires from them and not one time have I ever had a problem with them. So make sure if you need work done or you need tires you go here. ? in fact I'm going there again cuz I need tires and there caring to all that need help. So all you fool's that put a bad review have no clue what they do. This is the gas station I'm talking about. They will help anyone that need it. If you go into a business and tell them they NEED TO DO WHAT YOU SAY that's your problem. If you go in and ask for help they will help you. Hidden fees that's a joke there clear when they speak and of you can't use your brain and hear what they say that's all you. I'm 38 now and the first time I went there was when I was 20 and never had any problems with them AT ALL. Very shady dealership. They tried to charge me 500+ for tax and doc fees after saying it'd only be 220. Walked out on the spot. Salesmen had no real knowledge of the cars. Felt very uncomfortable. I sure won't be back.
This place is TERRIBLE. Staff consists of dopes, and they have so many "hidden fees" and "taxes" compared to any other dealer I've been to. DO NOT buy from here! I wouldn't trust the staff at Grimmel's as far as I could throw them.
