What clients say about IOWA FIRST CALL TOWING in Des Moines (IA)
This morning I blew a tire on my way to work. I tried going through my insurance that wanted to charge me $140 for a 2.5 mile drive. I waited for an hour and a half and my insurance STILL hadn't found someone to come pick up my vehicle. I'm not saying that someone wasn't on the way, they hadn't even found someone to take the tow. I kept calling them and they said they were working on it. Eventually I took it upon myself and started calling around. I called a few other places that didn't answer before I called Iowa First Call Towing. It was $91 AND they got there in less than 20 minutes. I was shocked how quick they were. Would recommend and I am now a loyal customer. I understand it won't always be that quick, but I appreciated their service greatly.
The gentleman who helped me was so awesome. I was on a busy interstate on a holiday weekend and I can't remember his name but he was a bigger guy and so capable and sweet. Made my ,nightmare more tolerable. 5 big stars
My Ram's water pump died and the belt came off. The service provider loaded my Ram and towed my trailer to the garage in Stuart. Very professional work.
While trying to arrange a simple wench out & tow service during the purchase of a trailer in their area of Des Moines IA .
Stephanie quoted quoted $850 - $1200 for the service to tow for 4 miles.
A request to speak with the owner or manage Andres, was made with NO CALL BACK after 3 days.
Then calling Friday to ask for a wench service for a future appointment on the upcoming Sunday, I were assured it could be done after the employee talked with Stephanie. We had it arranged for sometime between 12-2 and willing to wait if they were serving other customer. One hour later we received a call that they " COULD NOT PERFORM" that service. CROW TOWNING ... WAS HAPPY TO PREFORM the simple task. for an OUT OF TOWN CLIENT!
Not a good experience from IOWA FIRST CALL TOWING>
They got to me in under an hour and was over $20 less than any of the competition! Guy was so professional and nice. And all this was on the 4th of July. Thanks so much Iowa first call towing.
I called Iowa First after Crow Tow bailed on me after assuring me they could move my '78 Pontiac Firebird on a Saturday morning. Chris with Iowa First Call arrived an hour after I called and he was professional, understood what my car means to me, and even helped me get into the garage after unloading it from the trailer. Next time Iowa First Call Towing will be my first call.
Wonderful job... friendly, on time, had to deliver from Newton to Des Moines = it went "without a hitch." Would highly recommend Iowa First Call Towing if you ever need a tow in Des Moines or surrounding communities. Thank you, sir!
Amazing job had a good experience with the company and the driver was well experience and he had my car hooked up and off the road within minutes thanks
I have Roadside Assistance thru my insurance company an these guys are one of the providers they use. I was a lil skeptical at first. I was told that my estimated wait time was 120 mins. After the request was accepted, I received a text from my insurance company giving me details of the Towing Company. I was able to click on the link in the text an view the status of my driver. Once he got close to where my car was broke down, he called to let me know. When he arrived he asked how I was, an what my car was doing as far as needing the tow. I told him what it had done before breaking down. He was concerned an tried to help get it started. I was afraid my car would be damaged during the loading process due to sitting so low to the ground. I suggested removing the bumper if needed. He said it wouldn't be necessary. It took 2 or 3 times to get it lined up right on the flatbed but he succeeded without any problems. An I'm thankful my car wasn't damaged. When the driver got to the destination an dropped off my car, it was a lil too close to the garage door an was gonna have to be moved back somehow. The driver hooked it back up to the chain an pulled it back for me. Owner / Driver whichever one he may be or both - awesome job. I know it's all part of your job, but to me - you went above an beyond to help me out tonight. I felt you were sincere an cared about my situation. An I'll definitely be recommending this company to friends & family. 5 outta 5 star rating. ##chargergitngogirl##
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Made me wait 2 hrs with a infant for a tow truck to NEVER SHOW UP! I called and he said there were some delays with the previous vehicle (which is understandable) however they NEVER contacted me to to let me know. I had to call after 15 mins past my ETA. The owner Andrez Rodriguez hung up in my face stating “I’m not going to help you if you raise your voice.” This company will never get a dime from me and I will make sure they receive legal actions!
0/10 does not recommend. I needed a tow today and arranged it through my insurance’s roadside assistance. I have a 4x4 that won’t turn over (ignition/starter/plug issue one of these. Currently waiting for the tow to get it fixed.) These details were noted in the tow request. The guys at Iowa First Call took the job immediately. I called to verify that they have a flat bed as there is only one that services my area. The guy on the phone insulted me, told me that ‘it would be fine’ every time I tried to verify the use of a flat bed, while confirming that they would use a normal tow truck to tow my 4x4. When I pressed him that a flat bed is important and if he doesn’t have one, that I needed a different provider, he told me that ‘most people know how insurance works.’ Knowing how roadside assistance works and them using a flat bed to tow a 4x4 are two things that have nothing to do with one another. He hung up on me for noting so. He was more interested in trying to bully me into accepting his services than to make sure the tow was done correctly. I was trying to save us all time and headaches by calling to verify instead of his company wasting his time to only be sent away. Which is exactly what happened the last time this vehicle needed a tow.
Called my insurance and had the tow changed. Waiting for an actual flat bed now. Pro-tip: Many women, as well as men, are mechanically inclined and have a working knowledge of the vehicles they own. Treating people like they are stupid and know nothing about their own car because they are female says a lot about the person answering the phone.
If they cared about the business they are doing and were capable of doing the tow they would have taken the time to tell me that they have the proper equipment to create a makeshift flat bed by using the wheel cups, I forget the name, which act as wheels during towing so that you don’t destroy your drive train. But none of that happened. He just tried to treat me like I’m too stupid to understand the towing needs of my 4x4.
Edit; Reply to owner: Your lack of personal responsibility is on par with your lack of attention to detail. I noted that there was one incident when a company without a flat bed tow truck showed up to tow my 4x4. One. You are attempting to paint this as this happening many, many times. Second, you did nothing but speak over me and tell me ‘other people know how insurance work’. When I asked you to listen to my words, you hung up on me. As stated above. Third, if you had a flat bed to tow my Jeep, then you should have said so. Not told me “it’ll be fine” every time I tried to confirm if you had a flat bed. You talking over me about ‘most people know how insurance work’ has nothing to do with me asking you if you have a flat bed. I also asked you if you had dollies when we were on the phone. Again, instead of confirming you had proper equipment you just said, “it’ll be fine,” over and over. Take some personal responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming everyone else. Final note: Agero isn’t insurance, it is the third-party provider which sets up roadside assistance directly with the towing companies. For those reading this who are not aware.
