What clients say about Repairers Of The Breach Thrift Center in Covington (GA)

Wherever I go around the world I will always remember the love and care that I received at the Repairers of the Breach. If you are in the Atlanta, Georgia area its a must to spend some time in this place. Solid Rock Church and the other wonderful ministries that support this non-profit organization genuinely put a lot of energy into repairing the lives of each individual that walk through the the door whether they knew they needed it or not. And not to sound trite but I realized in the time I spent here that "Jesus Loves Me"!

Went to this place bc they were on a list from the school to be able to help people in need.. so I call them over the phone they say to come pick up a application I get there they say we only do in take on certain days so bring it back on this day and speak to Tanya so I bring the paper back and over the course of the next week I keep calling tonspeak to Tanya and she is either away from the desk next door or they say to call back in 30 minutes I never was able to reach her she never reviewed the application and never call me back . I just wish people who get these jobs do there jobs you never no what the other person is going thru on the other side have compassion and do your damn job I do not recommend this place to buy anything atbits overloaded and it stinks and the people that work there look disshoveled

Plan to be there a while! They have anything and everything you can imagine. No way you can see everything thing in 1 trip or even 10 trips! They have a massive amount of stuff. The employee's were nice and helpful. The place is dark in some spots and dusty all over.

What a fantastic group of people. They took the donations of furniture and clothes (as we are moving) and then helped clean the house perfectly. Please consider them for your donations. Could not be a better group of people. Thank you!

There's a lot of floor space besides what you see when you enter. Go towards the back of the store and there's another section towards the left and yet another section further back. There is everything to be found all second hand and in varying degrees of wear, books furniture, irons and ironing boards. Nothing had a price tag It seems the price is whatever the cashier decides at checkout.

This store has gotten my business for the last time, I’ve been coming here for YEARS and I’ve seen the same things sit on their shelves for years as well. Today me and a friend spent an hour digging around the super cluttered, dirty store and found 2 items, one item being an untested electronic that we found in a tote full of 100+ tangled cords covered in dust. Took the items to the front and had the rude lady working the counter look the item up on eBay right in front of us and try to base her price off of that. Ebays item was CLEAN, tested, & guaranteed. It is so sad to have your customers dig through dirt and mess then try to charge them online prices. If I ever do come back here I will never come back while she is working. So unprofessional. Side note: it’s also extremely sad that they get so many community service volunteers here and the store is still in such poor shape.

Came here over 10 years ago and left because of their high pricing. Tried to give it another chance today. Found an untested control deck for a train set and a Ps3 game. Went up front and the worker looked it up on ebay with her phone and tried to charge me half of the price of one that sells on ebay. The one on ebay is tested, working and guaranteed with box and manual. After that I didn't buy the second item. Could have had a repeat customer, but trying to strong arm me on an item that you had no idea what it was? That was found in a random tote in the back, lol? Nope.

The Social Workers are wonderful and very helpful. If it wasn't for them I don't know where I would be after I became homeless. Thank you so kindly for their efforts and assistance. ❤️

Enjoyed our short shopping trip there. It's a thrift store filled to the brim with everything from antique wedding dresses to men's boxers! You'll also find things like hanging decor, vanity knickknacks, glass pieces/dinnerware, ect., Ect. One person's "old things" are another's "new treasures". It's a melting pot of items, be prepared to look and rummage for your next hidden treasure in a place full of potential finds!

A place where there's fellowship not just a thift store, this is a place that serves a hot meal ever week night, several churches, community , even myself partipate in serving to the community WORD OF GOD AND MEETING THE NEEDS OF THOSE LESS FORTUNATE. TONIGHT ONE HEART SERVED, IT WAS RAINY SO MANY DIDNT COME OUT, MENU: TENDER RIBS, BAKED BEANS, COLLARD GREENS, RICE , ALL HOME MADE FOOD BROWNIES, COOKIES & PASTRIES OMG 4 PEOPLE WHERE BLESSED AFTER 6:15 PM IT WAS WORTH WAITING FOR we were there pass 7:30 pm plates were carryed to feed 4 to 6 extra people each . It was so much food ! we all had plates to share with people whom we cared about or whom were also less fortunate. It was a little too musty and dusty for me to feel comfortable being in there or even buying some of the stuff - like the clothes, but they had a ton of stuff and good prices and nice people!

I've seen a couple negative reviews lately. I think it's important to point out that almost everyone who works there are either volunteers, or serving community service. Many of them are homeless themselves. I can't speak on prices or service to caregivers. But being homeless I can say that they are tritely a blessing. If you're hungry they will feed you. If you need a shower they have one you can use. They'll give you clothes if you need them. Whenever I've needed something from their store the most they've ever charged me was whatever change was in my pocket. I say, "God bless The Repairers of The Breach!"

I bought a washing machine there and it washed 2 loads of clothes and quit working. I brought the machine back for repairs and am going to have to squabble over a warranty that is supposed to be 30 days. Mind you I had the machine 2 days.

I have shopped at the Repairers of the Breach for some time now and I have become frustrated since Christmas 2020 and today was the final straw. I will not shop there again. I am a social worker and often shop when I have an open house for senior citizens. Last year for Christmas, I shopped for and bought more than 100 Christmas mugs for Atlanta senior citizens. When returning to purchase more, the price when up from .50 cents to $100 per mug. I was alarmed at that time and complained to Ms. Tonya and was told prices went up. I felt some kind of way, but purchased well over 75 more mugs to give away to seniors. Yesterday, I purchased 120 old clothing patterns to give away to seniors after having sewing classes. The clothing patterns were .25 cents each. I decided to revisit Repairers of the Breach today 4/17/2021 to purchase more. Upon gathering 80 additional patterns for my clients. I was told by Ms. Tonya at the front desk the price went up to .50 cents. I explained I was there yesterday and paid one quarter for each and was told "A new girl was hired this week" and that the new girl did not know about the price increase. This is unacceptable. Is it that I'm Black? Why are prices increasing when I purchase lots of items? The sign says .25 cents and this is what I should pay. In addition, the staff Do Not Wear Masks and most customers don't ware masks either. I feel unsafe every time I'm inside and rush to go through everything because I'm afraid of catching Covid, but they do not seem to care about the public's safety or their own safety. Is it price Gouging when it comes to Black people? Why don't they were masks?

I guess I have dealt with different people other than the reviewers of this charity. Last week, I contacted United Way to give me a list of charities that pick up donations in my area. I had quite a bit of furniture and household goods from a move from a larger house to a smaller one. They directed me to Repairers of the Breach. I called last Thursday and was told to call back on Monday because pickups are Mondays and Wednesdays. I did just that, and for almost a week now, I have left messages for "Tonya" the manager, who is the only one who can schedule pickups. I've called 3 times a day for almost a week, asked for a call back, and never got one. Each time I call, the same gentleman tells me she isn't there. She's at another location, next door, across the way, etc. I don't know why she doesn't have time to give me a quick call back, but I find that very sad. I've always donated to charities the best of what I have because I remember when I was in need. I've taught my children to do the same. I think of it as a privilege to help others, but I am not physically able to bring items to the store. I've worked for a non-profit before, and I find this to be a true lack of caring about the purpose of a charity.

Love this store. It has everything with fabulous prices. Ms. Sharon is the BEST. Angels truly exist in this ladies. The amount of work they put into the community can never measure through words. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Degrading customer service from the manager there ,over price items filthy, disorganized and very distasteful. My 1 star is for the few pleasant workers there excluding the manager. For a business that is benefitting from donation (free stuff) they can do way better with the up keeping of the place to the over priced items. Proverbs 23:4

My favorite area is the library. I love looking at all the books. As much as l read, l can only afford these gently used books. I even bought a couple cookbooks!

These prices are absolutely outrageous compared to around 10 years ago! $20 for a small wooden kitchen chair. I will always take my donations now to Salvation army. Im so disappointed on how ots turned out there.

This place is horrible. They are suppose to help people but instead they sell the free stuff and keep the money for personal gain. The Salvation Army wrote me a referral to get a few things including a bed frame and headboard. They gave me the bed frame but not head board that goes with it. They gave me a old washer and dryer that’s 300 years old and it doesn’t work. They have things they could of given me that was useable. Not great but useable. But they didn’t they gave me their junk. If your donating here , don’t, instead go to Reach , Salvation Army or good will in Covington. They had all these bed frames )headboards) that was collecting dust and they would give me just 1. The manager there is rude and disrespectful and I’m sure she’s gaining from every one who donates. 🧐 these people are selfish and just trying to make a profit, they are not there to help the needy. Shopper beware the items they are selling does not work. They will Keep your money and you get to keep the broken down items. They should check every item to make sure it works before putting it out for sale and ripping people off. This place needs to be closed down ! . My experience here was ridiculous. Go els where and donate elsewhere.
