I strongly do not recommend this service.
On 05/30/25, our reefer truck arrived at the service center. We were promised the job would be done in 1 hour, but in reality, it took almost 3 hours. Then on 06/04/25, everything they had done broke down — and not only that, the tensioner pulley, which they had replaced, also failed.
As for the cost, it was simply absurd: they charged $727.94 just to replace the belt.
Yesterday, we had to repair the reefer again. During the repair, we replaced the belt that had been installed incorrectly, as well as the tensioner pulley that failed due to the incompetence of Crooms Fleet Services.
This time we went to George's Truck and Tire Repair — absolutely excellent service! They completed everything in just one hour. The replacement of the belt and the tensioner pulley cost $857.68, which is $130 more than Crooms Fleet Services, but the quality of the work was outstanding.
In short: I strongly do not recommend this service. Save your time, money, and nerves — just don’t go there.
Worst mechanic ever! Charged me to fix then charged me to fix their mechanics mistake and it still is not fixed. I gotta pay someone else to fix it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Last photo was from a real mechanic.... the whole time Crooms was hiding the fact the Yoke was bad! Worst shop in Polk county! Note i will be sueing for my money back! This woman that owns it is a horrible owner. She does not stand behind anything although she claims to. She was yelling at the mechanic about making sure he got paid to fix his own mistakes. I wouldn't trust them to fix a bicycle!!!
We had a good experience with Crooms. They towed a 1962 GM Greyhound bus for us (about an hour away, and got it out of a really tough spot) and replaced the clutch in it. The shop couldnt figure out how to fix the shifter in it (it's not a common fix) and the owner pointed me to another shop that would be able to fix it, and towed our bus for free since they weren't able to fix it. Great shop, I would recommend them for anyone in the area.
Worst experience I wish I would have read the reviews before taking it there. I had a roll up door that needed to be rewound the mechanics wound the spring to much at first then claimed it was because of the door being rotten is why it would not shut it shut fine when I brought it in then tried to talk me in to replacing door panels they wanted to charge 1k for replacement of 2 panels. Then I wanted them to weld the bumper they said this is gonna take 8 or 9 hrs so another grand to fix the bumper absolute crooks charged me 250 and they didn't even fix the door after reading reviews I see that's what they do here charge for stuff they couldn't fix
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Worst experience ever. I gave them all the part numbers needed and told them my generator wouldn't start and they still showed up without the parts, never fixed my generator, and still charged me a 3-hour minimum.

Quated us 8 (!!!!) hours to replace 4 trailer brakes. And when we refused it, they charged 2 hour minimum for diagnostics to tell us that brakes are bad. it took them 15-20 minutes to figure that out.
I called 4 local shops, all all 4 quated 4 hours of labor. We ended up getting our brakes repalced at a different place and it Still cost us less even efter paying this scammers $250 for nothing.
UPD: They absolutely did NOT disclose the "2 hour minimum". That's complete BS!! Stay away from this crooked people.
These guys were great! They're knowledgeable and talk no bull****! What I found particularly awesome, was their willingness to educate me on matters pertaining to the repair work and letting me look on (as it was safe to do so) as they did the repairs. No ambiguity whatsoever! Highly recommend!
So a business this large let's the credit card companies charge 15% of the bill. I've never heard of a major business doing that to customers that spend thousands of dollars. Issue was not resolved. The owner seems like she's from Jersey, not very friendly. But not rude. Just, as a matter of fact type.

We were pleased with the quick response (we had a suspension failure in our RV and needed a welder to repair the hanger that holds the leaf spring to the frame.) we were also pleased with the hourly rate, much lower than a mobile RV tech that we also contacted. And we were very happy with the work done by the repairman/welder, very thorough. However, after 4 hrs of prepping, he began the weld only to have his weld machine breakdown. After spending an hour trying to get it to work, he contacted (with our phone, his didn’t have service in our remote location) the company only to learn he would have to drive his truck to the shop and drive back with another truck, instead of someone coming out there with the truck. 3 hrs later, he was back in business. A 5 hr job turned into an 8 hr job and he wanted to charge us for all those hours. I put my foot down on that one and paid him 6 hrs. It just seemed as if this guy was left hanging while his company was negligible in equipment maintenance as well as not providing a professional protocol for him to follow. “We screwed up, inconvenienced you, so we’ll charge you the estimated price which was 4 hrs.” Now that would be 5-star costumer service.
If you need to something beyond oil change and brakes, I won't recommend this place, Bryan is a good guy with a nice attitude, but they don't have the software to work on those trucks, I went there to replace oil thermostat solenoids, the part that I find dishonest is that they knew the codes the truck had, and they took me in anyway, knowing that they wouldn't be able to delete it, the mechanic stripped(I know it can happen), the bolts causing a major labor and delay, cause they had to take a lot parts off to get the bolt out.
The worst part is that I spent two weeks and had to take the truck to Nextran wich is just 8 miles away from there, on my way there I found a big boost leak, from the pipes they removed, not going back anyway, is not the right shop at least for me.
After I get the diagnosis from Nextran, I'm exploring my chances with the consumer protection office, hopefully I can do something about it, is not about the money, even if I'm not a rich man, is about transparency, the lady that owns the place is not too nice, but that doesn't really bother me, I'm used to those kind of human beings that think that money makes them better....
Update: they also left oils pipes and antifreeze leaks, they don't let you pay with credit cards, so you can't dispute the payment, really shady and dishonest place, stay away.
Called Crooms for a last minute DOT inspection of a fleet of 6 trucks. They were the only company not only willing to do it, but also willing to come out of their way to my location. They were incredibly patient with me and sent a very professional and very friendly person to do it.
They did the inspections in less than 2 hours, which for 6 trucks is very fast for all they have to do.
We recommend Crooms to anybody at any time! We will use your services again, and are very thankful for your excellent work and customer service!!

And at the same time I found a coolant leak so they pressure tested it and I determined that I had a bad radiator they got it done and quick timing thanks to Brian and Austin great guys great service I'll definitely come back
Called them to transfer my vehicle from Lakeland to Orlando, price was fair and the Service was outstanding. Once arriving I needed to push my vehicle in a garage and the driver assisted me which worked out perfect bc I wouldn't have been able to it myself, the guy I worked with was very knowledgeable and stayed until it was fully inside the garage. Contacted them on short notice, they arrived quickly, the services they completed was above and beyond. Thank you for the great experience.
Truthfully, these guys don’t deserve even this one star that I gave. My truck was leaking air especially when I’m at a stop and won’t go pass the 5th gear, so I brought in my truck on 04/22/2022. I was made to pay $250 just to get pass the gate, and $125 per hour. The mechanic came an hour later to inform me the problem has been fixed and that they changed valve stem on main air line. When I test drove the truck, it ain’t no difference from what it was when I brought it in. I returned to let them know the problem wasn’t fixed and the mechanic told me that the fault is from the trailer . No accountability or even effort to remedy the situation, no empathy seeing that I’ve wasted money and time. I happened to just look at the reviews now and I blame myself for even coming there. So, except you enjoy wasting time and money, you can patronize them.
After snapping a wheel bearing on our boat trailer and having crooms come fix it we couldn't be happier with the service! I don't se why there are any negative reviews. They went above and beyond to make sure we could make it off of the side of the road and home safely. The man giving it had to go to 3 different stores to.find the specific part we needed and they never charged us extra for that time. If we're ever stuck again we know who to call!
I was delivering a load in Lakeland and enroute I developed a severe coolant leak. I made called Crooms from the receiver and was told that if I could get to their shop they would bring me straight in and diagnose/quote right away.
Turns out that my water pump was shot, and the techs got my company an estimate that was fair and repairs were completed as soon as the parts were delivered the next day. Also had pm services done. Staff are very friendly and professional.
Unfortunately can’t say I had a good experience at all... sucks mechanics all seem really nice too. But I brought in unit for reefer work for high coolant temp.
Was told I should change water pump and thermostat... it didn’t fix it at all then I mentioned I saw white smoke coming out of exhaust unit was pressure tested and as I was thinking when I saw the white smoke it’s likely a blown head gasket.
Unfortunately spent $600-$700 for completely nothing
Also on top of that after i had them install a door hinge on my trailer not even thinking what happened next was possible... after install I was then told by owner it was $200-$300 labor only to change one single door hinge that cost $15 (extra) and 15 mins to change.
Beware the owner at least doesn’t seem to care about anyone and how his actions and insane prices can hurt people, it could get very costly for you too. Every single mechanic I talk to was nice though.
Flat tire on 12/22/21 on FL4 W Polk County Rest Stop. Road assistance reached out to Crooms after 1st company did a no show. They responded within an hour. Tech contacted us before coming, and showed up prepared for the work. Very polite, personable and professional. Thank you for getting us back on the road so quickly.
Ronnie was amazing! He came out to us in a few hours, diagnosed and repaired our transmission problem. Very decent prices

$250 is shop MINIMUM!! Even though it took them 10 minutes I was expecting to pay for a whole 1 hours, but NO, it’s 2 hours!!! You heard it right, they charge 2 hours minimum in shop, not a road call which is 3 ! Hours minimum. Don’t support this bad business practices!
Most honest tow truck company I've ever spoken to. I ended up going through my insurance company's service but the gentleman I spoke to gave me the lowest quote out of all the other normal towing companies. If I ever need a tow when in their area I will definitely use crooms.
I had to call on 11/6 and the Dispatcher and Drivers I worked with were awesome. It was an odd case, but all the men helped me and made a stressful night, just a little better. I appreciate their help more than they know! Hands down Crooms is who I would deal with in the future, and recommend
Once our RV towing service finally assigned Crooms to tow our Class A RV Diesel pusher, the driver was on-site within 15 minutes and hooked up the RV and had it delivered to the service place within 20 minutes. The driver was very professional and efficient and I would highly recommend Crooms for this type of service.
I had a leaky axle seal that needed to be repaired and an airbag that needed to be replaced. It was fixed at their shop after hours by a mechanic named Ronnie. I’m very pleased with his workmanship and the way Crooms said “we will get it fixed so you can p/u a load at 8am the next morning” Great doing business with them.
Shane was quick, courteous, and very professional! When no one else could help, he towed our car from Orlando to Tampa at 1am and brought us back with it. 10/10 would recommend!
Owner is dishonest. He quoted us a price to haul a trailer and when it was delivered, he increased the price by 1/3. As a business owner and a decent human, I know the importance of keeping one's word. I will never use this company again and caution you to think twice before using.
We broke down on the Florida Turnpike north of Yehaw Junction. Crooms came 88 miles to rescue us. Shane was great and got us hooked up and underway quickly. The service didn't end there. Back at the base, technician Josh diagnosed the problem and had parts to fix us on order before Shane had us off the tow rig. At 7 pm, Crooms sent a runner to pick up the parts from O'Reilly's warehouse. By 8 pm we where back in business and on our way. In my book, they deserve 10 stars and provide outstanding service.
Went here with a headlight issue for a semi. They charge $125.00/hr. Then wanted to charge me $806.00 for a replacement headlight assembly. The dealer’s price was $635.00.
I ordered both sides off Amazon for $540.00 and replaced them myself.
Our motorhome brakes wouldn't release after stopping in a gas station lot in Lakeland FL to let our dog out. Cole from Crooms arrived in a very reasonable amount of time and found a strange problem (tie wrap inside bake drum--melted) and worked very hard on it for hours. He then called for relief (after beating on drum for hours in extreme heat and Ronnie came to assist). The two of them were great and hung in with us for about 5-6 hours. They also had a brake pad and a new drum on a SUNDAY. I highly recommend Crooms! Thanks Cole and Ronnie!
There always professional and honest people and use the best parts , I never had any complaints with this company there always on time if I need a call out , or if I bring it to there shop it’s done that day know matter what is wrong with it . I really appreciate them for all they do . Thank you for your service and professional services
