The vehicle I own is not a Porsche, BMW, Audi, or Benz. It is a 1970 VW Beetle. That being said they treat me and the car as if it is one of those I mentioned. I try to do as much on my own as possible on the bug as I can. But there are alot things that I cannot do. Will and his crew do great work at a fair and reasonable cost and in a short time frame. If finding a reliable mechanic is like playing the lottery then Fairwinds Auto is hitting the jackpot. I am a member of Porsche Delaware. I only state that because with the “membership” comes multiple recommendations of which indy mechanics are the best. I unfortunately took in one too many recommendations and tried another shop before finding Fairwinds. I can tell you my experience with Fairwinds was night and day in comparison to any other. On the first call, the front of the house manager, Glen, was laid back yet extremely knowledgeable. His demeanor was very assuring that they knew exactly what I was asking and could help. Speaking later to the owner Will made it very clear these guys were pros. In the best way possible, I feel as though Fairwinds is a no frills mechanics mechanic. They are genuinely passionate about what they do, legitimately wrenching on 911s far beyond my dreams, and doing it all while being some of the most down to earth enthusiasts I have encountered. Will, Glen, and his team have helped me with multiple service and esthetic enhancements to my Porsche. My history with them has shown them to be honest, reliable, and down to earth. I would recommend Will and his team to my mother at this point let alone a friend or fellow Porsche enthusiast. I have done PPIs when buying Porsches out of town and tried other Indy mechanics locally. My hope is that this review will give someone the comfort in knowing that their new car, used car, soon to be car, is getting the best bet in service you will find out of an Indy shop in the tri state area.
Went to Fairwinds for service due on my audi A8 paid a hundred and ninety dollars for oil change and filter and air inn my tires. Drove the car home parked it for a few hours got inn to drive around the corner to the store and Service fie pops up along with check engine light. Im not a happy customer 😒
If you are looking for a great alternative to the dealership, check out this service center. Will and his guys are top notch professionals. I took my Porsche Cayenne here for service and was very impressed. If you want a cappuccino and a big screen tv, this is not the place. If you want your car serviced where you can actually talk to the owner and the technicians, this is the place.
First visit was April 15th to fix CEL and fix AC. CEL was thought to be caused by a malfunctioning MAF and the AC was thought to be caused by the system needing a recharge. CEL and hot AC both came back one month later after $700 in repairs.
June 3rd repair attempt: the CEL was thought to be caused by a loose hose and the remedy was to push the hose back in and put some sealer around it. Driver side AC condenser needed replacement.
Today, July 15th, same CEL came back but luckily the AC still works. Spent ~$1400 and never resolved the CEL issue.
Used them. For a pre-purchase inspection. They did a great job and were very easy to work with.
They provided valuable information about the car that I would have otherwise not known.
I've been taking our cars to Fairwinds for years and have continually gotten great service at a reasonable price. Anyone who owns a higher end car should take their vehicle there.
I needed a battery for my 2011 335ix drive bmw my car was towed there and within 45 minutes I was done. Chatted with the owner for a while very down to earth guy, and the mechanics very friendly. The service was definitely 5star and they have me as a permanent customer as long as I have my beemer .
They give AWESOME service!! They get it done! straight to the point,and very knowledgeable on what needs to be done, Everyone is very friendly, and has a great personality, they consider even your time, and work around your schedule as well. You don't leave feeling taken advantage of or ripped off, you know your getting great service!
