My story and then enthusiastic review. Being a Ceramic Kiln and Induction Heating Technician allowed me to accumulate damaged Platinum thermocouples over the decades. They're tiny yet do add weight over time. Being near retirement, it was time to part with them. Searching GOOGLE led me to Specialty Metals. Their site is full of knowledge and made me feel comfortable they know what they're doing. Leaving my contact info resulted in Dan calling me a couple hours later and provided me with the info I needed to proceed. Shipping was easy, a signature revealed the metal arrived safely and true to their word, a check was in my hand 7 days later. They provided a statement with all the data of the smelting results, that days London Spot and Specialty's payout. I recommend Specialty Metals Smelters and Refiners without hesitation.
Wow, Dan took time to answer all my questions. I never felt rushed. He actually made me relax. His reviews really speak volumes as to his integrity and honesty. It was a Sunday and I had a class ring that I had found her to clean out I went online to see who may be able to help me I was given specialty medals smelters and refiners and I left a message for them and within 10 minutes Dan called me back and gave me the pricing and was very helpful!! Excellent experience with Specialty Metals Smelters & Refiners LLC. I had scrap silver from an industrial process, some of which contained contamination that other places were unwilling to handle. However, there were no issues here, and the turnaround was fast.

This is my second review but I think a recent experience with Specialty Metals is warranted so viewers can know what kind of service to expect. The material I send to SM is heavy and I have found that USPS flat rate boxes are the most economical way to send. A medium flat rate box full weighs 32lb and I had been sending 2 boxes at a time. But Dan informed me that it was more convenient for them to process 3 boxes, so I began sending 3 at a time. But the Post Office has been finding it too much for them to get 3 boxes, sent the same time to the same location, delivered on the same day and in the last 3 months they failed to deliver one of the boxes twice. Of 3 boxes sent 17 October, only 2 arrived. Knowing of a pressing need that I had, SM processed the 2 that they had and sent me an e-check. Then on Sunday, 19 November, I got one of those annoying i-phone messages that I had received a DM, which usually means somebody is trying to sell me something. To my surprise it was from Dan, informing me that one of the lost boxes had arrived 2 days earlier and had already been refined and an e-check had been sent. So ... an inconvenient amount for them to process refined in an astoundingly short time. That's the kind of service you can expect from Specialty Metals. Thanks Dan and SM staff.

Over the years I have done business with quite a few precious metals I highly recommend them. The material that I send for refining is not your everyday precious metal scrap. It has a lot of scrap and I know that it takes more time. My past refiner won't even attempt to refine my stuff anymore. Specialty Metals made it happen and turnaround time was excellent

It worked and I'm very happy with the service. I suggest using the e-check option for payment. Quick and easy.

Got to work with Sam and some of his team on shipping out some unique items for reclaim. He & the team at SMS&R are extremely friendly and respond promptly, even when there is a minor hiccup- they communicated that to me to put me at ease. I received a call that I would receive a check in the mail in three days and there it was! They made what I believed was going to be a stressful ordeal extremely easy.
