BRG is a 5 star all the way … my sisters and I worked with Grant and his team to auction the contents of our family home of 60 years. The entire experience from meeting Grant for the first time to auctioning a majority of the homes contents was excellent. The entire team is very professional and thoughtful. We highly recommend BRG and are so grateful for Grant and his team!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Black Rock Estate Sales. Christy, in particular, was extremely unprofessional and rude throughout the entire process. The company lost several of my valuable items, including a Fendi brooche, a Tiffany bracelet, and a gold pin with diamonds. These items were not even listed properly, and they were held at the property for over six months. After repeatedly requesting their return, I was told that the items had been given back to me, which is absolutely false. I know for a fact they never were. This kind of dishonesty and negligence is completely unacceptable, and I feel completely taken advantage of. I would strongly advise avoiding this company at all costs. They are untrustworthy, unprofessional, and irresponsible. Please be careful when dealing with them — I certainly won’t be using their services again!

Grant and his team were AMAZING!!! They made downsizing a breeze. Every step of the way they were professional, knowledgable and extremely patient. Grant came t our home, went through the whole house assessing what items would be sold on their online platform and others would be sold via bidding. They handle the pictures, descriptions, pickup day for items won via bidding, pickup of all items they will be selling online and in store, and yes holding your hand through the process when it seems all so overwhelming in the middle of a move. You are truly in good hands with Black Rock Galleries. I would not trust my memories with any one else.

BRG offers high quality items with plenty of high resolution photos. Web site is easy to navigate and bidding straight forward. I'm knocking stars because they almost never respond to questions about items made through the website. Each items has question mark icon to ask a question. Would be great if someone monitored the questions and responded. Again, otherwise really nice.

Such a find!! A variety of items available at all price points. Plus a super friendly and knowledgeable front office manager who answered all my questions. Was patient as I went thru a numbered of items. Will continue to support this local business and engaging w staff

We are starting a family and buying from estate sales is a little daunting. But there is a piece we fell in love with, but were worried about transport. Not only was the Black Rock staff patient and understanding, they recommended a fantastic service (Horace) that was just as five-star. Overall, it's been an easy process to bid and buy. Our furniture (and other items) were delivered today and we are thrilled with everything. Will not hesitate to buy again in the future if something catches our eye.

Prior to entrusting an estate sale to BRG, my wife and I had been customers of their amazing retail showroom in Bridgeport, CT (don’t be fooled by the drab, industrial exterior – inside is a veritable treasure trove). I had considered some other estate sales companies, but none could match the broad capabilities, product knowledge, and professionalism of BRG. Plus Grant, the owner, is an antiques and collectibles savant! His knowledge and passion just blew us away. He’s also assembled a really nice, considerate, and knowledgeable team. I was dreading the day that all our stuff had to be cataloged and removed from the house but, within minutes of meeting the team, I was put at ease. They did an amazing job and, so far, the consignment sales have gone very well (we’re only about half way through). Based on my experience so far, I highly recommend BRG.

If your item is as portrayed, no problems. I have purchased a few items and not had a problem. I purchased a wool rug which had a hole and stains that were not shared during bidding. Emailed and called the day after I received the item and unwrapped. Emailed and called and after a week got through to Kristin. It has now been two weeks without a resolution or reply. Would not recommend. Buyer beware. As you can see from the reply below, Black Rock has answered my review but not me personally with a resolution in two weeks.

I've bought a number of items over the years and received them without a problem. However, their descriptions are often incorrect, especially for Native American objects. The IDs of tribes and artists are frequently erroneous and crucial information is missing, These mistakes allowed me to purchase objects for far below their market values to the detriment of sellers. BRG should hire personnel who have the knowledge to write accurate descriptions.

Awesome pieces. Their auctions have definitely become more popular so it is harder to get a great deal but their warehouse has so much cool stuff too. I dream of winning the lotto so I can go crazy here!

Bought clock, to be delivered to Waltham for pick up, and was not put on truck. Was suppose to be notified but of course I had to call them. This was their fault yet they wanted me to pick it up in Waltham,30 miles away from home. They would not deliver to my home even though it was their fault. So much for customer service..... never again

When faced with the realization that we wanted to downsize a home that had been lived in for over 30 years and that was filled with three generations of family collections and precious heirlooms we did not know how to begin or where to turn. Fortunately, we found and chose Black Rock Galleries to handle our sale. What was a heart wrenching, stressful, physically and mentally difficult process was made so much easier by the guidance, expertise and professionalism of Christie, Grant, Rick and the wonderful Black Rock staff. The sale from the first phone call to the final auction was seamless. BRG strategically planned our various collections to be sold at the most advantages times. What at the beginning of this process we were so anxious about ended up being a great experience. Thank you Black Rock Galleries you truly are the best!

These people do as much research on a piece as my dog could. A "fake" Rolex, according to BRG, is real according to a Rolex specialist that works on the watches. Hudson River Valley art pieces were ignored. On my final report, one piece was marked at $5000, but was told it was a mistake...like misspelling artist's names or not being able to find the artist on the internet. I found almost all pieces...including much of the jewelry. How can a watch with 14 ct gold links be worth $200 with soaring gold prices anyway? The links, melted, would be worth more than $200. Never ever would I recommend this "business". I will have to have many of my things re-appraise...after paying BRG nearly $3000. I am requesting a refund, but I imagine that an attorney will need to be involved too. Off to the BBB site.

Terrible experience. Will never use again. As of this writing, they are illegally withholding the money they owe me, per the contract, and my possessions that they erroneously omitted from my auction. After exhausting my options, myself, time, and their no-show appointments to give me my possessions and money, I now have no other recourse but to get my lawyer involved. Very very sad and bad.

Something for everyone. Highly recommend. I’ve furnished and decorated half of my house with items from Blackrock Galleries. In the rare chance you don’t find what you are looking for in the gallery, try one of their many unique online auctions. Great selection and wonderful owners.

We were on the East Coast during a difficult stretch... Dealing not only with the loss of our Dear Mom, but trying to find new "homes" for all of her beautiful things, including our childhood home. I got a good recommendation from a local, but when we drove up to the location, are hopes quickly diminished. Neighborhood was bleak and a bit run down. We couldn't imagine finding any significant resource there, but since already there, decided to go in. Boy was I wrong! Never judge a book by its cover, was never so true. I found beautiful, large, funky-sheik, treasure chest inside! Multiple floors and rooms, filled with all sorts of very unique pieces: Furniture, Art, Decorations etc! I ended up working directly with the owners Rick and Grant. They were amazing. Cutting to the chase, I just received the check from the consignment auction they held for the Estate! The accompanying letter have a detailed breakdown of the items, auction sale price, commission charged, and our portion. I checked the web portal they provided with their services. What a wonderful job they did in grouping, photographing and describing each item. From furniture to clothing and jewelry... Very impressively laid out on the website, well priced, and they charged a fair commission. They have a large online subscription, so they sold everything and they sold it pretty quickly. We appreciated their respectful, sensitive approach during a difficult time, and we are happy that someone saw the value and beauty in those items, and will get to enjoy them as Mom did. And we can visit the site whatever we want, see multiple pictures of each item for a mini trip down memory lane! We have already recommended them to our friends and family in the area. They are restoring faith in Bridgeport one auction at a time! Black Rock Galleries is a gem, and Rick and Grant are precious metals!

Our recent experience using Black Rock Galleries to auction virtually everything in our Fairfield home was beyond our wildest expectations. Every member of the staff was professional, friendly and respectful. We were able to use the online auction service, which worked efficiently and was actually a lot of fun to watch! We have already been referring many of our friends who are positioning themselves to sell off their home contents as well. We enthusiastically recommend them!!

Unethical website. Deceptive, inaccurate and a total waste of time. I bid on 12 items and established a highest bid threshold only to find that that the "winning bid" was 1/2 my max. I'm sure they sold to friends and family, but the sellers lost out out profit. Do NOT sell through this this organization. No business acumen and zero ethics.

Ignore other reviews, customer satisfaction is certainly NOT the number 1 priority. I have won several auctions and each and every time there has been an issue, or a "glitch" as I am told. Response to emails is slow and it is obvious that he emails I take time to kindly write are not read. Most recently, I won an item and then when I tried to pay and collect my goods, I was told that it was never for auction. Although I have proof that I won the item, it will not be sold to me. This is actually the second time that this has happened. I am done with this company.

Very professional and personable. They take pride in every item they sell no matter the sale price. Customer satisfaction is their A1 priority!

This very cool, complete warehouse is great for treasure-hunting; fun for the whole family on a rainy day. They hold auctions and estate sales, too. Very interesting inventory, including mid-century, old church pews, artworks. NYC caliber at Bridgeport prices.
