This company stole my car from a lot with very unclear signage for parking violations. I get that they have a job to do, but the property did a terrible job of marking.
What really got me was when I went to pay my $700 30 minute ransom one of the guys working said “if you used your eyes and read you would have seen the sign”. Not only did he question my ability to read, most likely because I’m a minority, but he also attacked my visual disability. I only have one functional eye. This was incredibly offensive to me considering I deal with my disability on a daily bases.
Avoid this place at all costs. My car was badly damaged but ATA tow truck transport made it literally fall to pieces. Then they fleeced me for storage - $600 for 1 day + few hours AND tried to get me to hand over my title to stop racking up charges. This should be illegal.
Do not use this company for any towing services. I just witnessed this tow truck improperly dragging a front wheel drive car which can cause complete transmission failure.
I saw this tow tow truck 10:30pm in San rafael making a loud noise in the street. Went outside And watched this tow truck improperly pulling and dragging a front wheel drive Which can total damage to transmission.
I wonder why there is so many people complainin.
I just saw it with my eyes. Be careful buying or picking up your own car with damage transmission due to improper towing.
Driver must be high or some kind dru... poor handling. not the best but worse service. Complete hack!
Bobby and Jaimie are wonderful. My friend was involved in an accident that was not her fault. Took weeks to get the lady's ins company to say the car was totalled, and they were offering only $300 to pay the storage fee! She kept getting bills over $1k. She is currently unable to work due to the injuries she received...loss of income. Bobby said he is willing to discuss all with her attorney. Now, hopefully, she can deal with only the pain and mental stress she is having from the accident and get well.

Personally, I don't understand how an innocent party can get stuck with bills when the accident was not their fault.

Picked up a car today and really appreciated Hector's helpfulness, calm and efficiency. The lot itself was freshly paved and well maintained. Towing yards can be a cringe experience, ATA Novato was as positive as the situation allows. Thanks again to Hector who treated us with immense compassion and kindness.
I know that you may not have a choice when you come here, but wanted to mention the disrespectful behavior from staff at the Novato lot. One tossed my friends ID down the desk to his colleague to make a copy. Throwing people’s documents is incredibly rude. Disappointing but we did get out of there fast.
I shamefully did not get the name of the ATA Towing super hero that helped my daughter get her car out an extremely tight spot a few nights ago. He was a true gem. It was the middle of the night, down a tiny dark street, and there could have been damage to fence & to the car had he not been so strategic about how he moved the car. He had a great attitude about the whole thing and really saved the day. Thank you Towing Super Hero.
Colin answered my call after hours. Very polite and professional. They work for law enforcement and impounds so the reviews are not fair. I will definitely call them again in the future for tows in this area.
This tow company is trash…… they damaged my vehicle while towing iit then had the nerve to be rude about it. They also price gouged me . A real disservice to Veterans. If you have a choice avoid them .
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are crooks and thieves they caused 28,000 dollars in damages to my Porsche. They dragged my car even though it’s all wheel drive. None of there drivers know how to tow and they will ruin your car !!!!
The bumper and all the loose parts were stuffed into the backseat which ruined the white leather of my clients car. The absorbent used to soak up the radiator fluid was just poured into the passenger side floor which ruined the floor mats and surrounding carpet. When I questioned the driver his "I don't care attitude" was disappointing. The damage caused by the Tow truck driver was thousands of dollars.
In retaliation for this review the driver made a fake review on my Google account. ATA needs to do better.
I found myself in dire need of help today after having locked my keys and everything else in my car while pumping my last $20 cash into my tank!🤷♀️
I've never had my car lock on me like that! Anyway, with no phone, or keys I somehow was connected by another gas station customer that over heard me asking to use the phone to call for help. Not even sure what all was happening but next thing I know "Kevin", from ATA Towing shows up to help me!🙏 A true random act of kindness!!!🙏 He was extremely quick getting to me, opened my car in no time and made arrangements for compensation here! I'm SO grateful for his help today! And then he was quick to be off on his way to get to the next call! Thank you Kevin!!!🙏 I love to see people helping others out there in life when help is needed! I will definitely be keeping his card in my wallet for the future!!!
If you're reading these reviews, you need to understand this is a company that is used as a service by California Highway Patrol, so we're not just seeing rescues, but car impounds due to drunk driving, or the car was taken for insurance problems or crime related stuff. The people reviewing are, at best, not in their best places. This company does a difficult service in rescuing and saving stranded people, too... so that's the "all 5 star or all 1 star" thing. And this is the second time I've used this business in the last 5 years, and I didn't want to use this business... but sometimes you have car problems! They rescued me on Sunday with a SOLID friendly "panic stabilizing" dude, stored it til I could figure it out on Tuesday, and were professional, friendly, and did me a couple solids with both advice on what to do, and even gave me a break on the final price (don't expect it... I worked with them on some tow timing stuff, and they threw me a bone). Dude's cool too, if that matters. OH, and his dog is the cutest freaking bulldog, and I made a friend. So - I'm out a LOT of money because of this car situation, and life happens... it's just how it all works out. These guys made a REALLY bad situation far better than it could have been. Cheers.
Tow company took a while to get there and I was FROZEN..but the driver let me warm up with the truck heater.. but then had to go get a different truck so I had to go back to the cold to wait for him to go and return...tow was normal.. but it was approximately 4.5 miles and cost $300...a bit pricier than other companies...but at least they had someone AVAILABLE. PROPS for that!!!
ATA Towing arrived on time, were very friendly and responsive and charged $225 for a tow that I was quoted $275 by another towing company. Highly recommend!
Have a Tesla model s the unfortunately is probably Dead forever the gentleman that helped me out though so my car didn't get towed by the shopping mall was really cool and quick to respond in a county where everything basically closes at 8:00 they're open all the time and are willing to work with people I'm thankful for them so much and we'll keep them in mind for all personal toes in the future you guys rock
Van got towed in front of my place for 72 hour violation on Friday. I had to get a notary to pick it up because van is registered in my dad's name and they wouldn't release it. Got the notarized statement and emailed. I called to pick it up and they said they had specific pick up hours on Saturday (the next day) 10-11. I went in at 10:15. They charged me to two 24 hour hold periods because they said it got into their shop at 9:15 and it was now 10:15. Just past the 24 hour period. This couldn't have been true because my wife said she saw the van at 9:00 in front of our house. They then charged me $125 for coming in on a saturday (Gate fee). All in all $550 for a tow and pick up. They lied to my face. And they made the pick up time conveniently just after their so called "24 hour period". Very disingenuous. While we were in there they seemed to be stalling further. I would not trust these guys at all.
