I dropped off my box truck for brake work and to check the electrical. I was told I would have an estimate by the next day. Two days later I hadn’t heard anything so I called. She said she would email the estimate. I got nothing. Called the next day, Friday, to confirm it was the right email address and she put me on hold for 30 minutes until they closed and left the office.
Monday I call again and have her send the email while I’m on the phone so I know I will get it. I’ve attached what I got. A quote for changing out lights; no mention what I had actually brought the truck in for. I ask about the brakes and she gets the mechanic. When asked what needs to be done on the brakes, he just says ‘yes’. I ask what he means by that and he says ‘they need to be replaced’. The problem with that is that the truck is air assist over mechanical brakes. So what part needs replacing? He didn’t know. I ask for an estimate on everything, including the brakes.
The next day, Tuesday, I get a call from Rosie saying she will be getting me the invoice. After that it’s just silence. I went in and picked up my truck on Thursday; they were actually finally looking at the brakes then. However, after my experiences I just didn’t feel I could trust the business to complete the work within a reasonable amount of time. I waited almost two weeks and still never got an estimate.
My car was towed this location after an accident and it stayed there for 7 days. But when I picked up my car, my radar detector was missing along with the wiring for the device($500). So I recommend everyone to check their belongings before and after you pick up your car.
I was towed here by road runner towing. James was very good at his job. Tow rate was high but I expected that being in the Washington, D.C. area. Very nice shop by the way roadrunner towing and the truck shop are the same company. So I have been in shop since Monday morning the 23rd of July. Was told they would diagnose it on the 24th. Was it old it was the fuel pump. (N14 Cummins). They order it. On Tuesday. Didn’t come in on Wednesday the 25th. So I get in my rental go to leesburg from pa. Get there not working it told me the shaft that runs fuel pump was broken. So need new air compressor. “ No one has one in 50 mile. “. It will be here Friday. So I go home. Call Friday is compressor there no it’s lost somewhere. So I wait till this morning get in my rental car go back down. B fire I get there around 10:00am on the 31st of July I call the truck shop and ask if compressor is there. Nope not yet ups is tracking it. I thought he told me fleet pride was getting it in. So I pull over get part number from Dave head mechanic here. Found 4 within. 30 miles 1 in Fredrick, md. 3 in Chantilly, va. 15 mil s from shop location. Now when I get here al the sudden it in its way. And I told him I found 4. Really did have much to say other than they only have 1 tech and himself working. The truck shop looks to be a multimillion dollar operation. They have road service several high dollar wreckers and rollbacks and smaller towing trucks 4 bay garage and a wash bay here at leesburg location. How in thee hell can you run a shop this way. I am small time owner operator. My truck is paid for. But if I had a big truck payment I be sunk. FYI to take truck here. Unless you need a vacation! I feel I have been miss led. As far as the shop goes so I give shop 1 star for it cleanliness and appearance. Other than that nothing would even show on the screen. Not Happy!
I had a fantastic experience with the Truck Shop today. Unfortunately, I forgot the nice mans name that helped me today but he was wonderful and super helpful. Give him a raise!!!
Great towing service! They arrived before they estimated and provided excellent service. I would recommend RoadRunner over other towing companies in the area
The main air line on my compressor was leaking really bad. Not to mention that it was on a Paccar engine. They got to me within an hour and got me back on the road in 2.5 hrs. Very fast considering the tech had to take the leaking hose off and run to get another one made. Excellent service and I'm very pleased.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK HERE! Towed my truck, dispatch told me around 2 hours they charged 1000 at 8 yours. Then they estimated Tons of bogus fees on my estimate. I ended up having to pay fir them looking up parts for estimate at 2 hours . I ended up finding mechanic at half the price and got truck towed at only 500 to them woth another shop. Please don't use these criminals. I am out 1300 with toweing an a bogus estimate.
