I recently went to Advance Auto Parts to have my car battery replaced. After the employee installed the new battery, the car started and I was able to drive home. However, shortly after that, my car would no longer start at all. I had to pay to have it towed to a mechanic because I was concerned the issue might be the starter or alternator. To my surprise, it was neither. My mechanic thoroughly inspected the vehicle and informed me that the battery installation had been done incorrectly in multiple ways. In his words, “in plain English, they completely botched it.” The battery had to be properly reinstalled, and once corrected, my car started and has worked fine ever since. This situation cost me unnecessary stress, time, and money for towing and diagnostics — all because of a service that should have been straightforward. If Advance Auto Parts is going to offer battery installation as a service, employees need to be properly trained to perform it correctly and safely. I would strongly encourage other customers to double-check work done on their vehicles or consider having installations handled by another vendor. My experience was extremely frustrating, and I hope this review helps prevent someone else from going through the same ordeal.

Amazing. Sterling wouldn't install my battery. But the wonderful Leandro at this location isn't scared of the cold! Solid guy right there!! He deserves a raise!

I came by the store to get a quick tool to put on my license plates. The gentlemen were very friendly, very helpful, very courteous, and it was a delight to go into the store. One of the gentlemen came out and helped me with a smile and a wonderful joyous personality! I will always suggest everyone and anyone to come to this location. They are the best! Thank you so much!

Compared to other Advance locations, I am not impressed with the service I've received here. The associate who has helped me both times is nice enough but clearly does not know enough about the products. Both times I've felt he's only given me the "bare minimum" of knowledge/info. Not offered any further tips or making sure I had all of the right tools & parts, etc.

Employee was rude from the start and asked a simple question about windshield wipers and responded with attitude. Asked for the Free instillation they say they provide and they came outside and ended up giving up left me to do it! He did not know what to do at all and left because he said he was cold!

I went to the Autozone in Leesburg, VA location on 1/7/2025 to get my car battery tested and most likely buy a new one, as i had to jump start my car into work that day. I ask them if they can test it and install the new one and the employee tells me it's too cold. It's in the 20s. I asked him, since it's winter, how warm does it have to be? He states, "in the 30s." I want to argue with him but leave in frustration. (Btw, I get to my car and it's 34 degrees outside ?). I head across the street to Advanced Auto Parts and they gladly tested and installed my new battery. I, along with my 300+ coworkers, will no longer do business at autozone anymore. I hope their pockets get as cold as a winter day in Leesburg, VA. Advanced will get my business from now on!

I stopped by to purchase a new battery for my vehicle. Kenny (?) helped me select the battery and the came out to the parking lot to change it out. He was fast, efficient and very professional. His knowledge is impeccable. I’ve been a regular customer for a long time and I can honestly say, I’ve never had a bad experience here. Kenny and the other employees are the best. They’re not auto specialist mechanics so to those expecting to get their vehicle diagnostically checked, you’re in the wrong place. Take your car to a certified mechanic. I only say that cause I’ve seen people come in expecting the staff to fix some systemic transmission problem. These guys know their autos and their parts and are experts in that field! I am a customer for life. Thanks Kenny!

The Prestone tastes horrible, I was in the bathroom for 3 hours straight. Seafoam also tasted terrible, the texture was nice but it was strong and tasted like I was being fed cheese by David Spade in a plane on fire. One of the employee's smells really bad, however everyone else was dead. So I loved it. Cheese.

I expected this to be a mundane stop after the Jiffy Lube nearby lost one of my lug nuts. But the staff was so helpful and so kind that it actually made my whole day. They helped me identify what I needed quickly and kindly, empathized with the circumstances that brought me there, gave me good direction for helping myself in the future, and then comped me the part just to be kind. I will buy all auto parts here as long as I live in Leesburg.

Not impressed. The employees know very little to nothing about the stuff they sell. If you ask them if they carry a particular product, you're met with a blank stare. Going to the other car parts store across the street and they knew exactly what I was looking for. Now I know where to go in the future

We went to Advance Auto Parts to replace the dead battery in our Mini Cooper. Brandon (who rocks) was methodical in going through all the steps necessary to install the new battery and reset all necessary systems. He also installed new wiper blades. Incredibly satisfied with the service and HIGHLY recommend!

Regular staff help as much they can,but when managers tell 30yr ASE vets they don't know how to install a simple alternater,alternate, question they're ability parts store. How about not putting defective alternators back on the shelf ??!

My mom took her car there (about 45 minutes before they close) to get her battery replaced and the guy said he couldn't do it because it would take him an hour to do. Clearly the employees are incapable and useless. It took me 10 minutes. Advance should hire people with a little more knowledge or at least people who know how to work with their hands. What a real shame

Super friendly staff always willing to help out when I came in. Tested and replaced my bad battery with no hassle and had me back on the road in no time. Just be understanding when there are lots of folks in the store, there is only so much a few guys can do, and trust me, they are working hard and doing their best every time I'm in there. My go to parts store.

Whenever I go I think the employees are very helpful. Awhile back i had to get a tail light lightbulb and I didn't know where to start looking for something like that (I am not car literate). They walked me through how to look at the owner's manual and where to go. They were patient and unjudgemental.

My brother and I came by the Office Depot store next door to pick up a desk and needed to get ropes from Advanced Auto Parts to tie it down in the car. Without any hesitation, Brandon was so kind to come out and help us with the entire process. I’m beyond grateful for his help!!

My fiance and I were so grateful to Brandon last weekend!!! While driving to a concert at Jiffy Lube Live, we realized that my fiance had a headlight out in our car. We stopped at this particular Advance Auto to try and find the necessary parts to replace it. Brandon was so kind and even came out to our car to help install the parts. We will forever sing the praises of Brandon and this Advance Auto Parts location!!!

I purchased wiper blades a couple weeks ago and just got around trying to replace them today. For the life of me I couldn't install them!! I even read the instructions and watched the installation videos but it just wasn't working. I went to the store and talked to Jonathan, who was the one that helped me purchase them. He came out to my car and in 3 seconds said: Oh, your missing a part! I'll be right back. 3 minutes later, both of my blades were replaced!! He was terrific!! The funniest thing was, when I was backing out 10 minutes later he was installing wiper blades for someone else parked across from me!! We laughed about! Great customer service!!

I was blown away by their customer service. My battery completely died in the below freezing temperatures, and AAA could not jump my car. My ONLY option was to have AAA tow me to Advance and have the battery replaced. As my car was being loaded up, I knew we would not make it to Advance before they closed so I called ahead. I bought the battery over the phone, paid for it, and let them know we were on the way and we would get there minutes after they closed. When we pulled up, two employees (Kenny and Jonathan) were waiting with the battery (in the FREEZING cold). They installed it in my car, made sure my car started appropriately and it did not seem to be a burden to them at all. Again, freezing temperatures and when they were supposed to be going home - I will ALWAYS go back to this location. They saved the day!

The store itself is fine. Saturday employees were not helpful. I stood at the register for a long time before being helped, they were standing around chatting to each other. When I asked which part to buy, it was simply suggested I purchase several and return the one that didn't work. No questions about my car, nothing.
