Nice property. Odd policies regarding wedding requirements. They rarely anwer their phones or return calls. Moved on to a nearby venue that was perfect.

Just needed a little get away. The Airlie was really lovely and we lucked out on some incredible August weather. The pool was nice, the room was fine (maybe a little basic) and some more seating options around the grounds would really make it a better experience.

A group of friends and I stayed at the Groome’s Cottage for two nights in late November. The cottage was clean and comfortable, but the heater did not work which led to the entire cottage being unreasonably cold at night when the temperatures dipped below 40.

Beautiful property with plenty of scenic walking paths. The nearby town was absolutely charming, and Harry’s restaurant served truly delicious food—highly recommend!

Beautiful setting, room was nice, but the employees are clueless. They clearly cater to groups only. Despite being told that breakfast would be available, when we asked at the front desk, they did not know (it was not). Despite being told that the ev charger was level 2, it was not (level 1, so 4 hours yielded 25% power). We requested a quiet room but were placed next to a congregation space where groups spent the evenings drinking, etc.

Had a work conference here. Overall was very impressed with the property. It is beautiful all around. Stayed at the carriage house. Thought room was nice and clean. Only thing I would say is I was not very impressed with the food overall. I did not think it was the best and highest quality.

This has to be the best place to hold a wedding! We recently attended a wedding at Airlie and was impressed with the facilities. The staff, to a person, was helpful and friendly. Our room was small but quaintly decorated. I will note this is a historic place if you have mobility issues definitely ask for a first floor room. There are steps everywhere and most didn't have hand rails. With a pair of good legs the facility is ready to get around, but they offer a free shuttle that will get you around. When the day was nice the golf cart was my favorite option, and the van was a God send when it was raining. I'll talk about Henry's in a separate review, but it's worth a visit, especially for brunch.

This place was amazing! But there was definitely something up with our ac unit as it was right outside of our room and SO loud. It was so cool to just be able to walk everywhere and the attention to detail here is great. I would enjoy better wifi in the lodge. And it’d been great if they put our wedding party together in the same building.

Beautiful, delicious, and hospitable. Would be a great venue for a wedding, retreat, or other special event. I visited for the Wednesday lunch they have been offering to furloughed federal workers. They could have done a lot less and it still would have been incredibly generous. But they had so much quality, seasonal dishes in abundance. Grilled chicken thighs with an apple cider jus, pork tendorloin, spaghetti squash, roasted veggies, lots of salads, cheesecakes, orange cakes, chocolate cakes, coffee tea and bevs, attentively staffed, a violinist. Afterwords I enjoyed strolling the gardens, around the lake, and the historic main house. It’s a great place!

Stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms/cottages are clean the beds are comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. There is lots to do here as far as activities. If you visit in the warmer months there are more outdoor activities. At night they have lanterns if you want to walk the grounds at the resort which was nice. The staff were professional and helpful, no issues at check in. The rooms do not have microwaves so getting food to go or delivered might be an issue. The front desk staff has a microwave for guest use. I booked online and received a pretty decent rate. It’s great for a weekend getaway or just a one day staycation. Even without a microwave I definitely plan to return soon! Harry’s restaurant is located onsite and the food is phenomenal! I Highly recommend Airlie for anyone looking for resort style lodging

A very relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful campus. We have been there before and will go again. A very enjoyable environment. Great for a quick couples' weekend get-away from the chaos of urban life! The staff are all very pleasant and responsive.

I was looking to have my wedding at Airlie and tried calling. Their front desk received my call and informed me that events were handled through their sales line, so they transferred my call. I got immediately sent to voicemail saying the sales line is on vacation and would be back in a couple days. I decided to wait and called again after the date of their return and was immediately sent to voicemail again. I left a voicemail with my name, number, and interest and gave it a couple more days. No call back. I tried calling again and got no answer and the voicemail was full. I called their home desk again and they answered, took my name and number, and told me the sales person would give me a call back. I waited a couple days then called thr airlie myself again. Still the sales phone sent me immediately to voicemail. I tried the front desk again, they once again took my information and assured me I would get a call back that day but I did not. I could not imagine how horrible it must be to plan an event at this location when it is impossible to get in contact with anyone after I've been trying for almost three weeks. I've now given up and committed elsewhere for my wedding. The airlie looks great, but their sales team is horrible. I wish you luck scheduling your event and I advise others to consider my experience when committing to an event here. If the sales team cares this little about getting new business, what do you think their assistance with event planning would look like? You'd be better off elsewhere

We got married at Airlie in March and it was absolutely perfect! The gardens and Spanish steps make the most beautiful background, the hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we were even able to bring our dog with us for our special day. Everything was so seamless and we had the best time. Communication with Airlie was always prompt as well. I would recommend Airlie to anyone looking to get married in the area!

I just cant believe that my brother booked and paid for a wedding to be held here and they now want a hidden $2500 that they forgot to add. And when we were there the bushes weren't even trimmed and every one that walked down the steps toward the alter got slapped by a branch .

No option for a zero star, but this place is a absolutely a living nightmare. If ur looking for a place to have ur wedding.. forget this place. Their only after your money, everything is very professional up until u sign the contract. Once they get the signiture your treated like a nobody. They’ll hit u with charges that were never talked about/discussed. They dont maintain the property, weeds we’re growing everywhere. Dont even have a room for you to stay in when its part of the pricing. They had the seating diagram all messed up. They didn’t even much an arch up for my sister. No accountability from this hole, and it’s ridiculous. U pay all this money and for what? For everything that can go wrong…went wrong on their end! A wedding is already very stressful, dont expect this place to do what their suppose to do!!!! Save your money, save your special day for a special place, not airlie!

Horrible communication! Make you pay upfront and then ghost you! We paid close to 30,000.00 just for the venue and food from them. We have receipt with final payment paid and months later still harassing me stating we owe more money for service charges. So many things went wrong before the wedding and day of. Beautiful venue but poor service from the people that work there. No one could answer questions in a timely manor. Provided lay out diagram of reception for the tables, their staff had it all wrong. My family members had to move everything around ourselves the day of wedding. No power for speakers or vendors outside. Instructed their staff not to serve the top of wedding cake to keep for anniversary...they served it anyways! The landscaping needed some serious attention, weeds all grown out on walkway. It was exhausting trying to get someone on phone and redirected to someone else that had no clue and getting hung up on! Much better venues out there! Our own wedding coordinator said this was the worst venue they ever worked with! This special day would not of happened if it wasn't for my family and friends doing their job!

What Went Wrong: • Zero Communication: As soon as we signed the paper, they stopped talking to us. Getting answers for our wedding plan was almost impossible. • Chaos on Wedding Day: Everything we planned was wrong. • Wrong Setup: The tables were in the wrong places. Our friends and family had to stop what they were doing and move all the heavy tables themselves. • Missing Arch: The wedding arch we paid for and agreed upon was not set up. I (the groom) had to get in an argument with the staff right before the wedding to get them to put it up. • Wrong Food: The dinner they served was not the food we ordered. • Room Trouble: They give you a free room, but when I went to check in, they said we weren't in their computer. I had to waste a whole hour fighting with them just to get the key. • Landscape over grown: Walkway where bride had to walk down was over grown causing trip hazard • Power issues: The power outlets they said we could use was not working on wedding day, causing ceremony to be 30 mins late. BOTTOM LINE: Airlie gave us a very stressful wedding. Do NOT recommend them unless you want a lot of problems on your special day.

Beautiful place, but sadly a bit inconsiderate. Saw several groups of kids kicked out of the facility while taking photos for homecoming. Management sent security to get them out pr get a permit from the management, which not sure if you had to pay for. Been to many place where's management only asks groups not to impede traffic or be disrupted. Will never stay here and will dissuade anyone from coming here. This all could have been handled better. Groups were not interfering with anything or anyone. Just ruined all these kids nights.

I was not very impressed by my stay at the Airlie a few weekends ago. I imagine if I were staying there because of a wedding, it might be better. But this was not a great experience. At check-in, nobody told me anything about any activities that weekend (fires, archery, etc), and how to participate in them. I felt like there was nothing to do and not a clear way to inquire about it if there was (like an activities director or something ). My room was ok upon first look, but left a little to be desired. The bed was very uncomfortable, too hard, and made a lot of noise whenever you moved around. It felt and sounded like one of those fake beds they have at open houses— it was miserable! The front desk did tell me they don’t have housekeeping clean the room automatically during a guest stay, but I thought they would have cleaned better between guests. I know the property is on a farm and it’s pretty rustic, but even so, there were a lot of bugs on the windowsill. There was also a big spider that came down from the ceiling in the bathroom. There was a small pile of sawdust or something on the floor in between the dresser and the mini fridge. There was also a bit of fingernail on the little blanket thing at the foot of the bed. An attention to detail turning over a room is much appreciated. The morning of my checkout, I was sleeping in a bit before gathering my bags to take them to my car. I had the door hanger on my door saying to “please not be disturbed”. Despite this, housekeeping knocked at 9am asking to clean the room. I asked if they could please come back later. My checkout was 11am (I think customary), and I was bringing some bags to my car to leave on time. I had to use the restroom so went back inside my room. Around 10:40am, again with the “do not disturb” hanger on the door, housekeeping knocked again to come in. I shouted from the bathroom for them to please come back later, hoping they’d hear me. She asked me to repeat myself then said “what time?”, kinda cheekily. I just quickly said “later”. It was odd. I probably wouldn’t stay here again on my own unless I was a guest of a wedding being held here as the room is not very comfortable, the service is a bit lacking, and there’s not much to do.

I had my wedding at Airlie on labor day weekend and I have to say, I heard nothing but compliments about the venue. The venue was absolutely GORGEOUS, quite literally it was like its own little world away from the business of the outside life. The places I decided to have my wedding were: The old post room for the bride getting ready area, the west room for the groom getting ready area, the garden room for the Chinese tea ceremony, the Airlie front lawn and butterfly garden for the normal ceremony, and the smokehouse and lakeside tent for the reception. Overall, I had a really awesome time working with Airlie team in planning for the big day. We did call and decide things during the holiday season which caused a slight delay in responses but again, it was holiday season so 100% understandable. Shout out to Erica for being an awesome sales rep/wedding planner. You were there from the very beginning of the planning phase all the way to the end. You helped us plan out the perfect locations for all the little segments of the day and I have to say, it all came out perfectly. Also shoutout to the staff that helped us at tasting (I'm so sorry I can remember their names) but tasting was super helpful and the chef came at the end to ask us how everything was and we could ask all the questions we needed to right then and there. Also to the rest of Airlie employee who helped us with location to location transport, helped keep the lake house floor sparkly clean despite the number of ducks present, helped setup the tables and chairs exactly how we wanted them to be. Just...thank you!!

We got married at Airlie on August 31, 2025, and it was the worst vendor experience of our entire wedding. While the grounds are undeniably beautiful, the staff is disorganized, unresponsive, and shockingly unprofessional. Erica and Marcela, our main contacts, ignored emails, texts, calls, and voicemails. Once we signed the contract, they completely stopped replying. And to make matters worse, they made repeated errors in our contracts—misquoting prices, mislabeling services, and sending conflicting documents that created confusion and stress throughout the planning process. Three days before the wedding, they sent us a bloated invoice with false upcharges for meals, alcohol, and rooms. They closed the bar before my mother and brother could give their toasts—we had to toast with water. They refused to pack food for my sister-in-law, who had a newborn and was staying in her room on-site. They refused to pack food for any guest, despite their own policy allowing it for hotel guests. We had to fight for weeks just to get shuttle service to a venue located on their own property. They also gave us a room block link that charged our guests more than booking directly through their website. Several guests said their rooms had mildew in them. Our experienced planner was stunned by how difficult and hostile Airlie was throughout the planning process and on the day itself. The venue’s beauty is completely wasted on the people running it. Do yourself a favor—don’t get married here.

A dream wedding venue! We got married in the Butterfly Garden and enjoyed the proximity to the grounds, outside reception areas, and the wonderful on-site accommodations for our guests. We even were saved by the indoor conference facilities and their augmented reality entertainment systems when our outdoor plans for our welcome night was rained out. We can't say enough good things about the staff's attentiveness and venue's overall beauty. Thank you, Airlie!

I live nearby and explored hotel options in the area for a friend coming into town for a visit. I ended up choosing Airlie and I’m so glad I did. The rooms are fine, what you’d expect from a good-quality hotel. The grounds are stunning, with lots to explore. Additional touches, like bikes that are free to borrow and lanterns in the lobbies for walking at night, were appreciated. Dinner at Harry’s was outstanding and we had a nice view of the full moon from near the lake. Hey Ben their competitive prices, Airlie is without a doubt the nicest place to stay in Warrenton, Va.

I stayed at the Airlie for work-related meetings for a few days. I can't comment on the price of our experience, but it was a really good experience. The grounds are beautiful, scenic and well maintained. I averaged at least 12k steps a day just from exploring the grounds. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We had our meals in their dining room which prepared pretty good meals buffet style with a variety of different options, and different soups and desserts each time. I think a lot of their vegetables were grown on site, so they were really fresh, I'm not sure if I've even as healthy since. Their rooms are spread out in different buildings, I think I stayed at the Lodge. The rooms were clean, decent sized with standard amenities like a coffee machine. There are flashlight lanterns for walking at night as well as bikes you can use to get around the grounds. Wifi on the grounds was pretty good. During our stay, we got an archery lesson which was pretty fun, and we used an outdoor firepit for making S'mores. The place seemed to have a few different lakes/bodies of water. It was really nice to be out in the nature in the middle of different meetings.

My Church had our first retreat here and we were so sad to leave! Airlie was beautiful and the staff were amazing. I had a blast biking around the facility and engaging in the various activities! And lastly the food was so fresh and we ALL definitely went for seconds and thirds. Thanks Airlie and God bless!

My husband and I had the immense joy of celebrating our wedding at Airlie, and we truly couldn't have asked for a more magical experience. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the timeless beauty of the venue the architecture is absolutely stunning and rich with over a century of history, which has been so thoughtfully preserved. It added such a meaningful, romantic charm to our entire day. The gardens were like something out of a dream lush, serene, and the perfect backdrop for both our ceremony and photos. Every guest commented on how breathtaking the surroundings were. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the staff. Every single person we worked with was warm, professional, and genuinely dedicated to making our day perfect. We felt completely supported from planning through the big day, and that peace of mind is priceless when you're getting married! And let’s not forget the food absolutely exceptional! Every course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Our guests are still raving about the menu. Airlie is a place where history, elegance, and nature all come together to create something truly special. We're so grateful to have started our forever here.

My couples value connection, quality time with their people, and an inspiring place to get married. Airlie has all of this and more! I've documented many weddings at Airlie, everything from small two person elopements to weddings with hundreds of guests. The grounds of Airlie are stunning, perfect for a wedding backdrop. They have multiple gardens areas, a beautiful lake and bridge, secluded woods trails; more than you could ever use on a single wedding day. There are options for indoor ceremonies and receptions as well. I love the huge pavilion! It's a reception space unlike any I've seen in this area. In addition, the on-site hotel gives my couples the perfect way to spend not just a day but multiple days with those who matter most in their lives.

I recently booked a stay at this hotel, as we traveled from Miami. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected, and I feel compelled to address my disappointment with the quality of the accommodations and overall service. We stayed in a room within the B&B building (Silo), and I was immediately struck by the strong, unpleasant odor in the hallway leading to our room. It was so overwhelming that it nearly made me physically ill. Upon entering the room, the issues only worsened. The bathroom had missing light bulbs—not burned out, but entirely absent—, the towel ring was broken and left unattended, and the sink was completely clogged. These details clearly indicate that the room was not properly cleaned or maintained. Furthermore, basic amenities like shampoo were missing, and we had to request them after discovering only one lotion and two conditioners had been provided. This level of oversight is completely unacceptable. We had planned to stay for two nights, but we checked out as quickly as we could due to the condition of the room. I expected far better for what we paid, and to add to our frustration, the checkout team showed no concern for the issues we raised. It is deeply disappointing to have spent both time and money on what should have been a special occasion, only to have to leave and find alternate accommodations. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these fundamental issues in your hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. The front desk staff were so sweet and helpful. This place is so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. Our room was very cute and spacious, but I wish there was a microwave. I quickly found it weird that half of the property has housekeeping, and the other half has to call to request housekeeping as needed. There are lots of exploring to do by foot or bike. There are activities, but they have to be booked in advance, and they didn't tell us that beforehand. There is a restaurant on site called Harry's...the food for us was hit or miss and the hours are weird. Some things at Harry's were good, and others were gross ?. I wish there were more food options. We found better places to eat off property that were really good.

We got married at Airlie. Parts were stellar: the venue is gorgeous and so peaceful, the food is the best wedding food I’ve ever had, the people working the actual event (bar staff, servers) were friendly, and it was so nice having our family and friends all staying at the same location as our wedding. There were parts that were disappointing but fine: there isn’t a wedding suite/nicer room for the bride and groom on the wedding night. I actually went from a better room to a worse one on my wedding night, but the rooms were comfy! But problematic was the wedding staff. Originally, they were awesome, super communicative and helpful. They hired a new person who was assigned to our wedding halfway through, she never reached out to us once. She was not there on the day of the wedding, which would be fine, except she did not prep the event staff with the details of our day. We had spent several emails determining if we could bring in strawberry juice to make strawberry drinks, and we were told it was fine if we paid for the strawberry juice and brought them ourselves since those aren’t standard. The event staff then didn’t know that they were provided by us, and told my husband ten minutes before first look that they would be charging us extra because of the specialty beverage. On the whole, the wedding was amazing. But the shortfalls of staff added unnecessary stress to our day.
