Everyone there was so polite and informative. Amazing attitude. They did whatever they could to save me money (which helps because I’m a broke college student). I asked for prices ahead of time which didn’t bother them whatsoever. No sneaky charges either. They explained everything thoroughly and didn’t talk to me like I was a kid. Highly recommend and I will be going back permanently :)

I went to this shop to work on my 1960 TR3 based on the older cars that they prominently display outside their building and on their website. After much back and forth and claims that they don't work on "cars that old" (despite offering a 1963 mini on their website), they made it clear that they don't like to work on cars older than 1996. And then they stated they don't like to work with the owners of older classic cars since such owners don't like their cars left ouside. Granted, I was trying to get the work I needed done quickly. Thus, I think the real reason they were so reluctant was that they didn't like the tight time frame (something they alluded to). They wouldn't even give a recommendation for another shop claiming "no one works on cars that old" despite the fact that they sell old cars! They also do body work - maybe they are better at that? I have not worked with them in that capacity. In the end, I did not work with them because they did not inspire confidence. I would not recommend them because they don't deal with potential customers in forthright manner and it is very unclear as to what they specialize in. If they only want to do body work, it would be easier if state as much. If they only want to work on newer cars, they should be clear on this point on this point and take into consideration how many older cars they feature on their website and lot.

My 2014 Subaru Crosstrek's air conditioner had been slowly crapping out for the last couple of years and we finally decided that we couldn't suffer through another summer. After some troubleshooting on our part we dropped it off at Waterloo and had a diagnosis fairly quickly-she needed a new compressor, expensive but necessary! They got my Subie fixed right up within a 24 hour period, when I was expecting her to be gone for a couple of days, and did a fantastic job for a fair price. Super easy to work with and did a great job, we'll definitely return for more work when needed!

I have two vehicles that I regularly take to Waterloo Motors. The professionalism, knowledgeable staff and simple kindness is amazing. I have run the gamet from simple oil change or inspection to major fuel line or motor issues. No matter the job the price has always been reasonable. I would highly recommend Waterloo Motors.

Total crooks!! My fiance came in for an inspection and they tried to rob her. Close to $1000 for just rear brakes which it didn't need. Then when declined, they got an attitude. I definitely wouldn't recommend!

My car was damaged in the big June storm. I was out of town. I called Dan Lowe at Waterloo Motors and immediately knew I made the right decision - his knowledge, professionalism, efficiency - put me at ease immediately. We had a month long struggle with an overwhelmed insurance company before the vehicle was finally totaled. I am so grateful for Dan's continued support, calm demeanor, PERSISTENCE and EXPERIENCE with this situation! I highly recommend Waterloo Motors and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. This is my 2nd experience with them - the other was over a decade ago, but the service and body work was above and beyond. Efficient and professional - they set a high bar for themselves.

Impressive bodywork repair carried out, and very reasonably priced. Dan, John and Dan have my vote. Very proactive, knowledgeable and helpful. My wife knows if I am out of town that she can rely on them to assist her professionally, respectfully and credibly. I would not consider using any other car repair/service shop in town.

Waterloo Motors are always there for me, no matter how small or large the problem. We discuss the issue at hand and make a plan to move forward. They are always up front with me regarding costs and length of time needed for repairs. I have recomended Waterloo to several people I know, who would enjoy their level of service.

This is our second visit for our Subaru. They do great work and always complete on time. Very honest and thorough. I highly recommend Waterloo Motors.

Recently had a pre-purchase inspection performed by Waterloo on a 2002 Carrera 4. I was told only I, as the customer, would receive a copy of the report. Some deficiencies were identified with the car. Not surprising for a 20 year old car. When I relayed the results to the seller, he indicated that was not what he was told. Apparently, Waterloo relayed only part of their findings to the seller. Seller did not believe me, my credibility was blown and seller moved on to another buyer. When I confronted Waterloo, they admitted the mistake but refused to reach out to the seller to identify ALL of the defects. Customer beware! What this shop says and what they do are completely different things!

I used Waterloo for a pre-purchase inspection on a car from a Iocal dealer that I was looking at buying from out of state. They were super accommodating, very friendly, and had exactly the kind of expertise I was looking for. I extremely pleased with the communication, level of detail, and assistance from this shop.

It's always a pleasure dealing with this shop. I can and have done most any kind of work on my vehicles except body work. I have rebuilt my own engines for background. Some things just aren't worth doing yourself or buying the specialty tool required. That being said, the folks at Waterloo have helped me diagnose things and have even told me I didn't need work done I thought I needed. They are very honest. Not always the lowest price in town, but they save me money in the long run and have great customer care. Very professional.

Best place in Warrenton for body work. Daughter tried to tear bumper off on garage wall. New bumper $1000+. Guys figured out patch-job that looked great and cost $350. Helpful, professional and pleasant.

We have been taking our European vehicles to Waterloo for over twelve years. When we voiced dissatisfaction for where we were taking our American diesel truck they informed us they can work on that too. We did not hesitate to start taking our truck to Waterloo as well. Their entire team is top notch. On several occasions they have gone above and beyond our expectations to be sure our vehicles were running properly while saving us money at the same time. You'll never find another auto shop with better ethics!!!

I arrived shortly after 8 a.m. and John got my car into the shop right away for a VA state inspection and oil service. I chose to wait in the lobby and was back in my car in under 90 minutes. I've got to Waterloo for years and trust the work they do.

I began using Waterloo Motors back in the early 1980s, when Dan was still working out of a small 2-bay building next to his current location. My immediate impression was that of honesty and competence. Over the next three decades, those initial impressions have only strengthened. The staff is courteous and professional, the mechanics are competent and knowledgeable. Dan continues to provide that personal touch so often missed in today's retail world, such that I've come to value his friendship too. Even though I now live an hour away, I still come back to Waterloo Motors when possible, or if the issue is significant enough. Great job Dan. Thanks for many years of great service.

I brought my Saab 9-5 in with a fuel leak and John took care of me almost immediately. I was impressed and pleased that he set me up with a loaner (Toyota Corolla) while they took care of my Saab. The repair involved them searching salvage yards for parts and they were able to find one cheaper than I could. Throughout the process the staff was communicative and informative. I was hesitant to take my Saab to a shop that doesn't specialize in these unique vehicles, but John and his team have earned my trust and business- this wasn't just a simple oil change. The prices are not cheap, but are exactly in line with what I've seen from other independent shops and what I expect to pay for owning a European car. I would bring my Saab here again.

Nice people, but WOW you better be ready to hand over some coin if you take your car here. . Be ready to pay a diagnostic fee even if you get your car repaired there, they don't roll that charge into the amount for the repairs like every shop I've been to in the past. And they don't disclose that info to you when you drop your car off either, so not very honest. They did drop that charge after I complained a little and the work that they did seems to be good that's why I gave them 2 stars. End result I wouldn't recommend as a dealership quoted me much lower prices and they where going to give me a loner. I've never been to a shop where the dealer prices were lower than theirs like this one.

These guys rock. This shop has been in my town forever, and I've been there a few times now. My wife's family has been using them for years. I get better service than the dealer, a free loaner car, the correct synthetic oil imported from Germany and they have lots of cool old cars around to gawk at.
