Need a fun place to take the kids? This is a great option. There are plenty of fun, creative activities for them to do. The Lego cities are really cool and they're interactive. Kid can build cars then race them. We spent about two hours there and had a great time. We purchased the basic tickets without the add ons. For those who served, there is a military discount. Also, there tickets available on other sites that were alittle cheaper than getting them from Lego. There was a restaurant but we didn't see anyone eating there, we didn't either. Great place to spend a couple hours with the kids.

Fun for all ages! Loved the tiny play place for little kids, they had a merry-go-around that was a favorite. Definitely recommend!

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Washington, DC – Perfect for Young LEGO Fans We recently visited the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Washington, DC with our 4-year-old, and it was such a fun and memorable experience. It’s a fantastic indoor attraction that is especially well suited for younger kids who love LEGO and hands-on play. From the moment we walked in, the colorful displays and interactive areas immediately caught my child’s attention. There is so much to see and do, from creative LEGO building stations to themed play areas and rides designed specifically for young children. Everything is very age-appropriate, engaging, and easy for little ones to enjoy independently or with a bit of help from parents. One of the highlights for us was how interactive the entire experience is. My 4-year-old loved building with LEGO bricks, exploring the different zones, and seeing the impressive LEGO creations on display. The environment is safe, clean, and well organized, which made it comfortable to let kids explore and have fun. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming for families. It’s a great place to let kids use their imagination, burn off some energy, and enjoy creative play—especially on days when outdoor activities aren’t an option. Overall, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Washington, DC is a wonderful destination for families with young children. We had a great time, and my child left happy and excited, already asking to come back. I would definitely recommend it to parents with preschool-aged kids looking for a fun and engaging outing.

We visited on a Saturday after Christmas, and the facility was moderately busy. Because the space is divided into different sections, it never felt overcrowded. We have a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old, and both enjoyed the space very much. There were activities suited for each age group. It was well worth the money, especially if you’re looking for an indoor activity for kids on a rainy day. We were also greeted by the GM, Nick F., who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

I love visiting this place with my nephews and nieces. Honestly, I think I have more fun than they do! It's an absolute gem for LEGO lovers of any age. We always go during the week in the morning, and it's wonderfully quiet, giving the kids plenty of space to explore, build, and use their creativity and independence without any crowds. There's so much to do here. They have a fun little movie theater with 4D effects, a mini train ride where you use lasers to "shoot" targets and snap photos along the way, and even laser maze where you can channel your inner ninja and try to weave through the beams. It's impossible not to laugh and have a great time. One of my favorite parts is watching the LEGO experts build incredible creations WITHOUT any instruction manuals and getting to talk to them about their process. Their creativity is amazing and so inspiring. If you are looking for a hands-on, imagination-packed outing, this place is a must-visit. Perfect for kids and secretly perfect for adults who never outgrew LEGO. :)

This was my second year going to LEGO Discovery in Springfield for a field trip for my 3rd grade class. Our field trip was to learn more about force and motion which we experienced through the STEAM lab. We also had a chance to spend a few hours at the location to explore the other stations available. The teachers, chaperones, and students all expressed how delightful of a trip it was - many saying that it was the best field trip they have ever been on. The staff have been welcoming, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Alice was very helpful as we planned all of the logistics and fine tuned them. I can't wait to take our school there again next year!

A lot of fun. Can be super crowded at times, but a fun time with the family overall. They have lots of activities for the kids and a decent amount of seating for adults. I recommend it for families for sure. They even have group sessions with the Master Model Builders to teach the kids new builds and new techniques.

We had such a great experience at the LEGO Discovery Center! We went with extended family and a mix of kids of all ages, and every single one of them found something fun to do. The place was shockingly clean and well organized, it actually felt comfortable to just relax and let the kids explore. You can’t always say that about family attractions, but this one genuinely felt safe and welcoming. I don’t know exactly what they’re doing, but they’re doing it right. We’ll definitely be back!

Overall this was a great experience. We received the healthcare discount, which made the price very reasonable for our family. There wasn't much direction inside the facility - it was kind of a free for all, but the kids had a great time playing at all the different centers. The facility and restrooms were clean, the staff was constantly picking up Legos and ensuring the place was tidy. The little ride was enjoyable, as was the 4d movie. We didn't interact much with staff, but when we did they were very kind. My only complaint is the food. It was overpriced, the burgers were bland, the nuggets were microwaved into oblivion, and too tough to eat. There was only one girl working the food station during lunch rush, and she was unable to keep up with the demand. The simple order we had took well over 30 minutes to receive, and it was missing items. Definitely eat elsewhere or bring your own snacks. Otherwise it was a great experience, parking was simple, and it was easy to access inside the Springfield Town Center. We will definitely return.

It's a great safe interactive place to let your children's imagination grow. Unfortunately, my children were to tall for the play center that recommended 3' to 5'. Also, my 8, 10 and 11 years seem to have been a bit old for this activity. Definitely a great play area with clean open spaces and places for parents to sit. Just geared for a younger group of children that mine.

Amazing! My daughter met one of the characters, went on the ride; saw a Lego version on Washington DC, ate a snack; built our own Lego people. Located inside Springfield Mall

We celebrated my child's 10th birthday here and had a wonderful time. The kids (and grown ups) loved building with Legos all day, racing their vehicles, and taking a building workshop. They also loved the movies, climbing gym, and laser activity. Their favorite part was designing and printing their own Lego figure in the store. Please note: the Cafe does not offer any good besides a few snacks (chips and juice) so plan to bring lunch or head to the mall food court.

This place was absolutely wonderful. My kids (3,5,7) all LOVED it. Even my oldest “kid” (35) everyone enjoyed building, and exploring. Staff were so warm and filled with interesting knowledge. I especially enjoyed the guy in the master builder room. He had lots of incredible builds and was so friendly to chat with. So many fun activities- we literally spent the whole day there. I wish it was opened later so we could have had more time! The laser maze, train ride and 4D movies were my personal favorites. I loved all the different Lego opportunities to spark creativity. Also the big soft ones were great. The characters walking around was a fun touch although we only saw one in the 6 hours we spent there. I was very disappointed however because I purchased upgraded tickets for the photo pass and I only saw two places to use this. One of them was out of order. We saved two photos (which were blurry anyway) to the provided QR code but when scanning the QR code it said nothing was on it. I noticed other people scanning theirs and having the same issue. I had a code to get two of my children free and forgoed that opportunity because I wanted them to have the upgraded experience with pictures and builds. (Also note I had 5 passes with the photo pass and only given 1 photo pass card) I’ll also mention that needing to return the mini figure at the end could be quite disappointing for young children but it was a lot of fun for them to build and there were fun photo ops for the mini figs around the center All in all we will definitely be returning. Time has never passed quite so quickly at a children’s place!

Visited Discovery LEGO recently and was a bit underwhelmed. The space is clearly geared toward very young children—probably best suited for kids under 7. For older kids (around 9–10), there just isn’t much to engage with. It felt more like a daycare than an interactive LEGO experience. Some of the LEGO bricks and play areas weren’t in the cleanest condition either—noticed a few sticky pieces, which was off-putting. That said, younger children seemed to have a great time. If you have preschoolers, they’ll likely enjoy the experience. But if you're looking for something to entertain older kids, this probably isn't the spot

The LEGO Discovery Center is an absolute gem, especially for families with toddlers! Forget the idea that LEGO is just for older kids; this place is perfectly geared to spark joy and creativity in the littlest builders. From the moment you step in, the vibrant colors and interactive displays captivate even the youngest visitors. The DUPLO Park area is a highlight – it's spacious, safe, and filled with oversized bricks perfect for tiny hands to grasp and stack. My one year old daughter spent hours happily building towers (and knocking them down!) without any frustration. The soft play areas and smaller slides are fantastic for burning off energy in a contained environment, and I particularly appreciated the thought put into making everything accessible and engaging for different developmental stages. The staff are also incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the positive atmosphere. It's truly a fantastic spot where toddlers can explore, imagine, and develop their motor skills in a fun, stimulating, and safe setting. Highly recommend!

A bit pricey, does offer military discount. You get to build a mini figure to keep, they have a build area with different ramps, a toddler play Duplo inspired area including a triceratops merry-go-round. They have an indoor playground, and a laser bank heist obstacle course. They have a train ride with magic laser wands with an interactive ride. They have Master Builders to talk with. Lots of fun for kids and adults.

This was so much fun for my son and I. We ended up spending about three hours in here when I figured it would only be one hour. I can’t believe how many man hours went into making all these legos. It was neat to look at. The ride was fun and talking to the Lego Master Builder was very exciting.

This was such a fun way to spend a couple of hours with the granddaughter. She loved it. Lots of hands on things to do, a very small ride, and lots of fun things to try out. It has a 4D movie theater, but it was full during the time we were there. There is also a game where you try to get through stages by not breaking a laser that requires you to go under or over the beams. This was not something I was able to go because I couldn’t get down to go under, but it was fun for the kids.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the LEGO Discovery Center Washington, D.C. as a chaperone for my son’s LEGO club field trip, and it was an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant, engaging, and full of creative energy. The interactive exhibits were fantastic, offering a perfect balance of hands-on building activities, impressive LEGO displays, and fun rides that kept the kids entertained for hours. The Miniland exhibit, featuring detailed LEGO recreations of D.C. landmarks, was truly impressive. The kids loved the Build & Test Zone, where they could construct and race their own LEGO vehicles. The 4D theater was another highlight, providing an immersive and exciting experience that everyone enjoyed. The staff was friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, making sure the kids had a great time while also learning new building techniques. Everything was well-organized, making it a stress-free experience for us chaperones. Overall, the LEGO Discovery Center is a fantastic place for kids (and adults!) to unleash their creativity and have a blast. Whether you’re visiting as a family or with a school group, it’s definitely worth checking out. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed going but during the week is the way to go. Weekends are too crazy and waiting in line for anything here is not worth it. Note - we went on a homeschool day for half price which feels like the right pricing and there was barely anyone there. I don’t think paying full price for a crowded day makes any sense. Also, we had to show proof of homeschooling which is fine but I wish the add would have told us we would have to prove anything. 1. Duplo zone is cute for littles. The Dino merry go round was a hit. 2. There is a short ride which is fun and safe. You use wants to blast things on screens. 3. Movie theater is 4D. Smoke, wind and water (sprinkles). I don’t love wearing the glasses. There are 3 different movies which are all about 10 min each. Not a lot of dialogue, just fun visuals. You can sit in the back to avoid getting wet. 4. Food is standard fare, overpriced snacks etc. 5. For runners the exit and the entrance are close to each other which can make monitoring easier 6. Space zone - build a spacecraft and then scan it and then fly it around on a big screen. Super fun! 7. Class - there is a little side room by the entrance that sometimes has building classes. We didn’t know this and missed out but they looked fun. 8. Pictures - there is a Card you will get to track photos throughout like on the ride and at the entry way. Not a ton of other picture places. 9. Embossing - there were a bunch of places on the wall where you could “stamp” a paper. It’s an extra fee to get the book but a plain piece of paper works too 9. Buildings - I absolutely loved all the DC models and castles etc. The lights go on and off to show various areas. Look down low because there are cutouts underneath the structures as well or on the sides. 10. Climbing zone - small and closed when we went 11. Hero area - small but fun to do the laser room 12. Mini fig- when you first walk in, there is a bunch of mini fig pieces. You don’t get to keep them but you can make one and play with it throughout the visit. Be careful about putting it in the machine called FINAL MISSION. It will scan it to put it in a little video but you won’t get it back. Lots of tears if you don’t want your kid! 13. Ramp area - there are 3 structures for kids to launch vehicles they build. A volcano , over an alligator and through a pyramid. Definitely a hit.

Recently took my daughter on Saturday before back to school. It was expected to be crowded but actually decent crowd. My daughter loves this place. It was her 1st time visiting and she actually loved it.We came at 330 and stayed to 630 . If up to my daughter it been all way to 7 closing. The playground area was my daughter favorite . The movie/cinema theater was my favorite. Gift shop was chosen to get a pen for me and she chose pen to along with her own selection of legos to fill up bucket and create. Definitely a good experience had.

Our 7 year old grandson is passionate about Lego so he was thrilled to visit this place while we were visiting DC. Our 9 year old granddaughter was less impressed. Overall I think it’s overpriced charging $33 per person even though as an adult we are chaperoning and not playing. There are hands on experiences but not enough to challenge an avid Lego player, and not enough for the 7+year old. The variety of Lego buckets were missing a lot of bricks and the absence of the ability to truly build anything was very apparent. It is physically set up exactly like the Crayola Experience in Orlando FL. It isn’t a place I would return to.

This is one of the most enjoyable activities for kids during a hot summer afternoon. The movies, ride, workshop and builder stations are worth exploring. We enjoyed building cars, rockets and so on - there’s one station with technic pieces but not fully stocked - that’s probably my only pet peeve. Overall a good experience, no complains for the price.

This is a blast for the kids! They have sections for all ages. Even adults can have fun here. They have a fun interactive train ride, 4D movies, lego building workshops with the master lego builder, build your own space ship to play a video game, a jungle gym area, Lazer game, lego lighted exhibit and more that I probably didn't get to see. Ticket prices are a bit steep but worth it if you stick around all day. We brought our own snacks and they have a cafe area. They also host birthday parties. I would definitely suggest going at least once.

We really enjoyed our time here! Great visit overall. Really creative and engaging activities for the kids. 4D movie, lots of Lego building stations, rides, workshops, play areas, and tons of cool builds with over 1.5 million legos on display. Our kids ages range from 2 to 10, and we felt like there were good activities for all of them. I’d definitely recommend coming during the week and not on a weekend if possible. The crowds weren’t bad when we went, but this location can definitely get busy during popular times. We spent about 3 hours total on our visit, and I felt like we got our monies worth. The kids would stayed longer if we let them, and I’m sure we’ll be back!

We loved our visit! It was busy but not too busy to have fun. I was at the San Antonio LEGO Discovery Center a week earlier with my grand kids. The DC location was such a better experience in every way! Plus there was so much more. I can’t wait to take my grandkids when they visit in the summer. In my opinion any child from 2-12 would have a fantastic time at this Lego Discovery Center. Keep up the good work and keep you wonderful employees! The people who worked there were top notch and should be valued!
