Terrible customer service. Yelled at us that they were short staff and elected to be unhelpful by spending more time complaining about their staffing than addressing needs.

I've shopped at AutoZone for over 20 years. And man it's gone downhill dramatically. They're always understaffed. And the staff that they have most of the time is not knowledgeable. And sometimes just flat-out rude! But now I am officially done. Last week I ordered a thermostat and Gasket online for curbside pickup. When I arrive the next morning to pick up my items. They had the thermostat but not the gasket. Was told I would either need to wait, or to the 29 store to pick it up from there. So I go out there, picked it up and came home to started working on my vehicle. The thermostat I purchased from them did not fit. Immediately brought everything back for a refund. This week I'm working on my truck. Googled brake caliper bolts. AutoZone came up with the part. Went to the store to purchase it came home to put it on and it also did not fit! And now I need to make another trip to the parts store just to get my money back. It is not worth my energy or time to keep running back and forth to the parts store dealing with rude people and wrong parts. It may take longer, but I never have these problems ordering online.

I recently had a negative experience at the AutoZone store located in Pantops, Charlottesville, VA 8/23/25. I am disappointed to say that as a long-time customer who has been doing business with your company since I was 16 years old, I will no longer be patronizing your establishment. Upon entering the store to purchase cleaning supplies for my truck, I encountered an issue with the pricing of an item at the self-checkout. An item marked at $10.99 was not ringing up at the correct price. Despite seeking assistance from a Spanish-speaking clerk who tried to help, I was met with disrespectful and dismissive behavior from a manager, described as a young black man with glasses and a scruffy appearance. The manager informed me that the item was not in stock and walked away without offering any further assistance. This experience has left me feeling undervalued as a customer and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

So I’m not buying anymore products from here . Spent over 200$ yesterday for tools and jack stand plus the filter for oil change ect . They gave me the wrong filter for my car . I had the car up on the jack stand and everything eles I purchased from them and looked up my car specifically. They sold me the wrong filter but when I called them the same day told me bring it back with the emailed receipt. When I drove 35miles back to there town to return the filter the store couldn’t give me my cash back ???becuase it wasn’t warranty?? These people losing their minds . Why would I want a credit to the store if i had to bring the item back they far ??? But i also asked the same person who sold it too me why after I got in my car I saw him and asked why I couldn’t get my cash back if its there fault because it doesn’t have warranty. basically waisting my gas and time 35miles away to come out there . Which I had to buy a whole new filter from advanced auto parts that same night while I had autozone on the phone telling them about the filter they gave me was not right size when they looked it up for my car . when I had my car up on Jack Becuase they gave me wrong product . I’m not coming backs Ima go to advanced auto parts because they don’t get my stuff wrong and be petty to not give me back 10$ in cash how I paid for it with not my own mistake but the company’s employee selling the product .

Was on a road trip back to Hampton Roads last weekend when my engine light came on and my car wasn't accelerating well so I stopped into this AutoZone to get codes read. I was on the road with just my sister and two kids. John V. did the code read out for me and after printing out all the info, explained the part I needed and gave some advice about how to troubleshoot it. Being in an unfamiliar town at night, I was grateful to have kind customer service and assurance before we hopped back on the road for another two hours!

First time I visited this location I was impressed with the customer service I received from Tony the store manager he was very knowledgeable and professional took his time helping me with parts for my car I rarely leave reviews but I will definitely return for anything I need in the future

An employee here was extremely rude to me. I had not asked for help but he went out of his way to insult me. Just go to Advanced Auto Parts down the street, this store doesn't know how to speak to to customers

Needed battery changed. Was told my standard new car was too complex to swap out and I should go to dealership. Went across the street to Advanced Auto Parts and they swapped it out in 15 mins (standard battery installation- nothing complex at all). I speculate the representative I was working with just didn’t want to help do the installation. Not a good experience.

Thanks to the helpful staff at AutoZone! They replaced my battery, tested my starter and suggested a place to have my car serviced. I appreciated their prompt attention and knowledge.

I have spent over an hour in this store today, and still do not have the part I need. I went this morning to get a part that online says its in stock. After waiting to be helped, Vic told me they would get it from another store and to come back after 12:30. I come back at 2:30 and again wait in line when its finally my turn, the part wasn't there, and no one knew anything about it. There were at least a half a dozen employees and maybe one other customer in the store both times I went there.

Pitiful. Out of 11 parts they got half of them wrong and then would not deliver the correct parts to the shop Even though it was a commercial account. Basically they said it wasn’t their problem. I like advance auto they hire people they don’t know anything about what they’re doing. I’m going to stick with Fisher auto because I’ve never had a problem with them.

There was one customer being helped when I walked in. No acknowledgement that I was there. The worker was struggling to find the correct wiper and after some time, the worker started to leave the store to install the wiper blades. Again no acknowledgement that I was there. I asked if there was someone that could help. He stated 'I'm the only one here' when in fact, there were 2 other workers around the corner. He made some comment about me being an emergency and magically boh workers came out. Is this typical customer service today?

Poorly staffed, poor management. I saw other staff members probably mangers but they were not assisting the two cashiers. The line was out the door yet these staff members did not assist in getting the customers out. I had to wait at least 15 minutes to have my battery installed, then another 10 minutes installing it. I didn’t like that the cashier waited on customers in line behind me before installing my battery. I saw a very small sign on the window that they are hiring.

Excellent experience! Shout out to James and Michael. James who was knowledgeable and friendly on the phone, and Michael who installed a new battery in my car in minutes, skillfully and with clear communication. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Simple lack of caring if you get the parts You need tryed to sell me the wrong u joint . Heard the manager telling another employee that customers trying to be Difficult because the customer wanted To order a part instead of driving across town to get the part. Don't wearing the new store on 29 is not any better.Had to Order on Amazon.

Not only was the service great, but I was in a time crunch and the guy at the counter was awesome. He went as quickly as he could, went outside with me to help, and didn’t give up when we hit a snag. ann actual great experience for what seemed like a quick and easy thing.

Awesome service! I called advance auto to price a battery and asked if they would install it for me. A representative at Zions crossroad advance auto told me that they don’t install batteries, it would take 30 mins and they aren’t allowed🤨 this was new news for me. So I called this location and their staff was fantastic! They had 2 employees, but they assisted me as if they had a full staff. They made me feel welcomed and valued! I will not be going back to advance auto! ThAnk you auto done for having a great staff!

Had a good experience here with a purchase and installation. Purchased a bulb and the sales associate installed it as promptly as possible. I really appreciate the fact that the staff here will graciously go above and beyond to perform excellent customer service. This cannot be found of other competing businesses in the area and definitely gives them a leg up above their competition. Their prices are also cheaper than the "advanced " place in town just so you know!
