Easy online order of a car battery. Great price with coupon. Show up and did a quick and easy swap out. All super smooth. Only downside - called store multiple times and got no answer.
Clerk at the store took the time to apply an online discount that didn’t work at time of purchase. Much appreciated! If you need a car or truck battery, give Batteries & Bulbs a try rather than a typical car parts store.
Went to Batteries Plus for a new truck battery. Even though the battery they had costed more than other places, the warranty offered was better and installation option was convenient. They also had a 20% off promotion that saved me $30, so that was very nice. So happy they had what I needed in stock, the installation appointment was easy to schedule, and the associates there were very friendly. The person that installed our battery for us did a great job which we greatly appreciate. ?. Unrelated to the battery installation, we were also able to recycle some 4’ flourescent bulbs we’ve been trying to get rid of for a while for like $1/bulb which wasn’t bad.
Great service. Needed a new car battery and the entire transaction was handled quickly and efficiently. I really appreciated that the sale included on-site replacement of the battery.
12/15/25 NEW REVIEW- today I stopped by Batteries Plus again as you can tell by my previous reviews, I’ve been very happy with them and nothing has changed. Still great service. I was greeted by Thomas enthusiastically and he replaced my car key battery which I had a warranty for and even though I did not have a receipt, you looked it up on the computer to confirm that I had purchased a warranty. Now settling in and happy to be back at this place of business. I asked Thomas if he had my windshield wipers and he grabbed them quickly and installed them and got it done before either one of us got real cold even though it’s 28° outside. I am always floored about how enthusiastic and great Service at this wonderful business in Charlottesville called Batteries Plus!! The reviews below are older ones and I could not figure out how to leave a new one without nuking the previous reviews and I wish Thomas and All at Batteries Plus a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Prosperous New Year 2026!!
I Purchased car phone charger this week and spoke to a young man named Will. Gave me excellent service and did not try to upsell me on things I did not need. This place I love because they have old fashioned service which is so hard to find nowadays. Would highly recommend. By the way they sell a keychain flashlight it lights up my front yard like the sun in the middle of the night. Fantastic price for 30 bucks it really makes your wife a lot safer especially on a slick driveway with leaves, ice or snow in the winter. Rick B, Charlottesville Virginia
The gentleman running this store was funny, knowledgeable and efficient. I needed a battery for a car fob, and it took him about 30 seconds to install it. At no additional charge, he also tested my phone battery to be sure I didn't need another. All around a good experience.
This is the first time I’ve ever used batteries plus. They had in my opinion the best battery for the money and I did a lot of research. Ordered it online got a $20 discount and they refunded the $22 or something back for the core very quick to my credit card
I literally got a better battery for good but less money than I could have at the big auto stores even before the discount
Everybody at the Charlottesville store seem very helpful and pleasant to deal with

Awesome staff here. Always so nice and helpful. I work for a local computer repair shop, so visit them often to get help with batteries for power backup units. If you need any help with batteries or bulbs, they will be happy to help.
Excellent experience. They had what I thought was an obscure bulb in stock. In and out of the store during busy Christmas Season within five minutes. Highly recommend!

Bad customer service. I got a different price depending on who was working that day and no good explanation why prices differed. Then they were rude when I told them what I had been told before and basically accused me of lying. Ended up going somewhere else for my phone repair. I've used them before and and they're ok, but after my last experience I will no longer use their services.
When I called I was informed it would take approx 2 hrs to complete the lcd repair on my Samsung ultra 22. I informed the rep that i lived an hour away and id have to have it in the timeframe stated. When i went in for an 11:30 appt i was informed that it would take 3 hours and up to the entire day due to unforseen circumstances. Nothing was done to accommodate other than telling me they apologize. Bad service, and highly disappointed. I waited around for an hour and the establishment remained fairly unbusy. I wound up paying an extra 75 bucks to just get the new replacement phone shipped out
Shout out to Suzanna - A+ for patience with my questions regarding core charges. Not for the guy that was working the day before though who told me they don't charge core charges for businesses. Had to check my old receipts!
And from what I understand after going through this experience is that I shouldn't expect a core charge refund if I just bring my battery (purchased from B+) back and don't intend on buying a new one. That should be explained up front!
All in all, great store, always have what I need. Like buying local.
Wonderful store and services! Had my car battery charged here for free (!) after it died. Suzanna was wonderful and very helpful. We also use them at work for batteries, bulbs, and recycling. Lucky to have this business in our community.
Placed an order this morning online, and within minutes I recieved an email stating order is ready. So fast. Associates were so helpful and friendly, were quick to assist with carring my battery to my vehicle.

Since my original review, I have been back a few more times to get lawn mower batteries and most recently an Optima Yellow Top car battery. Same fair pricing. Same competent staff. That's why I keep coming back.

I ordered and paid for 6 golf cart batteries online to get the 10% discount. Went there the next day to pick them up and the Batteries Plus people unloaded my old ones and put the new ones in my truck. Super easy. Another good thing is that Batteries plus prices their batteries like you aren't returning your old ones, so if you DO return your old batteries, they refund the core charge to you. But some other battery places will instead price their batteries like they are expecting you to turn the old batteries in, and then if you don't, they ADD the core charge to the list price of the battery. In other words, the Batteries Plus prices are actually cheaper than what they list. I see it as fair treatment at Batteries Plus, and kind of deceptive at places that use the other pricing method. Overall, the transaction went great, and I would buy there again. BTW, the batteries work great too.
This is an update to my original review. I have been back to Batteries Plus several times since then and still give 5stars. Be sure to order online before pick-up to get 10 percent off.
I had a great experience ordering and then activating a new replacement key fob for a Prius. Everyone is so helpful - I saw lots of great interactions while waiting for the job to be done. I would highly recommend this store for problems with batteries, phones, and much more! So glad I got to check out their great service!
The first time I went to the Ch'ville batteries plus was to pick up 6 golf cart batteries. The owner brought them out and she loaded them into the back of my truck for me. I was impressed and I have been a loyal customer since then, and we always exchange a friendly hello. The customer service keeps me coming back.
I have always experienced excellent, friendly service here. They had the car battery I needed in stock, and it was easy to purchase online. The installation at the store was quick and professional. In the past, I had gone there to buy a tractor battery. They tested it, said it was actually OK, and then charged it for free. Great honest service!
I had the best salesman I have had any where in a long time. I needed batteries for my handicap scooter and could find them no where else but you don't deliver to homes. This man made arrangements to deliver them to a business in town where my neighbor worked so I could get them. The salesman was so kind and polite to me and explained to me how to order them online. the delivery driver went out of his way also to deliver them to this business. Both of them deserve a big raise for being such exceptional employees.
Let's face it batteries are not exciting but they are necessary. This location has an excellent knowledgeable staff. The manager was helping me with some large 6volt batteries. While I was waiting her staff unloaded my battery cores which weighed over 100 pounds each quickly, installed a watch battery, gave a quote about a cell phone repair and answered the phone twice!! I was only waiting 10 minutes, my point is this place is excellent. They have gadgets, flashlights, cell phone repair and of course every type of battery and bulb with the knowledge to back it up. I drove over 2 hours because they had a particular battery in stock and I would not hesitate to do it again!! Great store, Great Service.
Marc was amazingly helpful when I came in to get my car key fob repaired. He and Suzanna and the rest of the team were friendly and professional and courteous and had me back on the road quickly. I could not recommend them more highly!
