DO NOT TRUST. They add “miscellaneous” charges to repair work and when confronted about it can’t tell you what the charge was for and also refuse to take it off the bill.
I got a rough quote to refurbish my Sprinter van from the owner to prep it for sale. I was concerned about the cost and could not get a phone call back from him after speaking with his staff several times.
Fast forward, my bill was 40% higher than the rough quote with no proactive calls and no call backs. When I asked the owner about this directly, as money is Very tight, I was cut off and my feedback shut down. I have never been spoken to this rudely by any business owner.
Common practice at most reputable shops is to call if the bill is racking up, giving the Customer the option to move ahead. The owner said the work completed 'will pay off in spades' when I sell it. With many chances the owner would not admit that this was my decision. He made the decision for me.
The outcome of their work is 5 stars. They do fine work. My van looks awesome! Did I want to spend big money for it? No ? The decision was made for me by the owner. The hardest part was the way I was spoken to offering this feedback. As a community member I feel obligated to make this review.
Does Ayers do great work? Yes. Top notch.
Would I use them again? No.
Would I recommend their business? Also no.
Needed to find the place that will care for my car’s needs. After bad experiences with attitudes and poor customer service, it was time for inspection and I needed to find someone. I am so glad we found Ayer’s, profession and polite. Professional in all aspects while remaining personable and informative. Now with peace of mind my Gold Camry will be treated for the queen she is ?❤️
I recently came to Ayer Auto Body with a concern about the rust stains below the door handles on my Toyota Highlander hybrid. They actually removed them for me while we were talking! Other body shops had told me I had to leave the vehicle overnight & it would be a minimum of $500 to address these. I was so surprised, impressed & grateful!
The folks at Ayer Auto Body are honest, knowledgeable, kind, & generous. They are completely trustworthy, I highly recommend them!
They charged me 76$ to just bring my car in without telling me before hand. Then didn't have change for 100$ and gave me a $50 back. Didn't sign the paper work, had me sing it, and didn't do anything to my car. Shouldn't of charged me at all.
One of very few shops in NE that uses a truly high-quality undercoating product. The care, hours/days of labor, and sheer attentiveness that David and his bodywork team puts into undercoating is top notch to say the least. A real no-stone-left-unturned approach. They have conducted repair work and body work on my vehicles but my favorite service provided is the rust prevention…by far one of the best, if not THE best in the whole area. With decades of experience, it’s no wonder they have built up such a solid reputation. If you’re considering having your car, SUV or truck protected from corrosion you owe it yourself and your vehicle to call them first.
I had an accident and they kept me in the loop every step of the way Tracy is amazing and the body shop did an amazing job my car looks better than the day i bought it . Parts were backordered and Tracy always let me know . When i went to go pick it up there were a few minor issues and no ?'s asked Mr Ayer took care of it this by far is the best auto shop ive ever done business with i will recomend them to anyone who asks Thank You to everyone that worked on my car i appreciate you all ABSOLUTLEY STELLAR CUsTOMER SERVICE ....

Had my Jeep undercoated with their Noxudol treatment about two years ago. David & co. did a great job and for a very fair price. Two years later, no sign of the typical Vermont winter rusting and it is still very clean underneath. I’m incredibly happy with their service and quality of work and would highly recommend!
Ayer Auto Body is the best Auto Body Shop I have ever been to. The staff really cares about the people who come in and as someone new to Vermont the quality of care I have received at Ayer has gone a long way
I was traveling through Vermont and had a ball joint suddenly fail. They were able to find time to squeeze me in on a busy Friday, ordered the part and had us back on the road in a few hours. All for a super reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Ayer has done an awesome job repairing a truck of mine from a hit and run. Also a car from an accident. They work seamlessly together with insurance. No troubles. I can highly recommend Tracy in the office. Very professional to deal with. Very good communicating with me and keeping me abreast with what was happening when. I took a rental car when needed and was able to just drop it off right there.
Very friendly and professional. My car was only there for two days. Estimated to be up to a week due to parts needing to be ordered. The price was also very good for what I needed done to my car. I will definitely return in the future.
I came in for a quote for collision repair. Their quote was more than three times the cost of the car! I got a quote and repair from another mechanic for about $300. I do not trust this company, nor should you. Always get more than one estimate on repairs
I had my car repaired at Ayer Auto Body after a hit and run and they were courteous and professional throughout the process. The car came back to me clean both outside and in and the work was beyond satisfactory. Would use them again and recommend to friends and family.

If you are a seller to this company, you may be cheated after delivery of service or product.
We filled a $719 order for screen printed shirts in May 2012. They washed the 100% cotton t-shirts in warm and/or hot water, thereby shrinking them. Owner said previous orders for cotton Fruit of the Loom shirts never shrink and that the Bayside shirts must be defective. He filed a chargeback and took their payment for the custom order.
I replied by sending him specification sheets from Fruit of the Loom, shown that their washing instructions (even though their shirts were 50% cotton / 50% poly) insisted that proper washing should be performed using COLD water.
If you are asked to sell this company products or services, BEWARE that they may do to you what they have done to us. They are making a claim for a defect that does not exist. Anyone who has washed cotton knows that even pre-shrunk cotton can and will shrink if washed in a temperature other than cold. They may make up an unsubstantiated claim and take your money.
