I hate to leave less than 5 star review, I do not wish to hurt someone’s business although I could not find a car repair in Greer or Greenville SC to do a simple job of replacing an oil pan gasket. I was finally recommended to Iron Man in Pickens SC. I spoke with the owner and I decided to drive the vehicle over an hour away with the the belief I would need to leave it 2 weeks. I ended up leaving 5 weeks before I had to call saying I was going to pick the 1979 CJ7 up finished or not. The owner responded it will be ready tomorrow. My wife drove me back up and I drove the jeep home, within 2 days the oil pan was leaking again. I got under the jeep to check tightness on the oil pan bolts, about half of them were finger tight! I’m going to need to pay someone to do it correctly. Iron Man also installed a new parking brake foot pedal mechanism and so far that’s a five star. I really don’t like leaving this review although it is the truth about my experience. I wish Iron Man better reviews in the future but it all boils down to quality of work, my main issue was not corrected and I paid top dollar for the work. R,

Great bunch of guys working there. I was in a jam with my Jeep Gladiator as I was far from home. The owner got me up and running in 30 minutes. He saved the day and my trip!

When I first met David he quoted me a price and time table of 18 months for a frame-off restoration on my cj7. I've given him nearly half of the price quote in cash (not counting the parts I've purchased and had delivered there) and in 5 days, he'll have had my Jeep over 37 months and the body isn't on the frame yet. We speak weekly and I hear a new explanation of what I read told the week before and little to no progress had been made. Ironman Restoration had taken ALL the fun of of this project for me. I wish I'd NEVER went there. Update: 1,459 days.... 3 years, 11 months, 29 days. It'll be over FOUR years he's stalled and lied to me, that's how long my Jeep's been there. Was told I'd be riding early spring, then in April, then they'll "try" to have it by end of May. Now we're approaching the end of November, We've been "two weeks out" since before the summer. "We" have been going to drive it "next week" for the past three months. It still isn't on the road, no decals.... All I seem to get are more lies, excuses, and false hope. I haven't ever had to try so hard not to hate. The man knows Jeeps, but has no concept of time and promise dates mean nothing to him. BE WARNED. One missed delivery date after another, one disappointment after another. I see other folks posting, but I don't see them mentioning dates.. I wish there were negative star options. 18-month follow-up: I now have rust around my windshield frame, which was "supposedly" primed and painted. The AC has never worked properly, the defroster is out, he used two different paint bases so without looking too intently you can see the paint between the tub and hood is different.

Update from my review 2+ years. Unfortunately nothing has changed we are now going on 16 years that he has had our Jeep and over $11,000 upfront paid to restore it. I know he's a good person and means well but just can't seem to get this job done. I really wish I had better news to report but sadly I do not. He will call my husband once a week with updates and often promises pictures that we don't get. Here lately he's getting to where he's not returning those calls and that fear is screening our calls not picking up. I truly hope this does not turn into a legal matter but I'm starting to lose faith. I hate to end a long time friendship, but what is right is right.

David and Steve and the others really made my 2020 jeep Sahara look great! New lift, bumpers, winch, side steps and bumper lights. I love it. This place is awesome. Light bar for top also to be installed later when parts arrive.

Hi there David remember me? Probably not it's been awhile, you took my CJ5 14 years ago along with $11, 500. I was just wondering if that jeep might be ready anytime soon? Don't mean to seem too pushy I'm just curious. Thanks!

Great people, had my truck up and running in no time. They even helped diagnose other problems my truck had and helped me get it fixed. 10/10

Ironman has been a family owned business since 1972 when it was incorporated. David James now runs it as Ironman Resteration.

They know their stuff for sure! However, it is off the beaten path a bit and they could use some organization! Good people though.
